If I could have gave less then one star I would have. Took my truck in for an engine oil change, a tick on the rear of the engine and to get the transmission oil and filter changed. After describing what I wanted done I left them with it and went on with my day. An hour later got a call and was told that the noise was coming from the fan belt and the serpentine tensioner I refused to have them change the parts as it was a task that was easily done. They said that the engine oil change was also done and that the bill would be $156 I said for that price you couldnt have done the transmission oil change the service advisor asked "oh you wanted that done!" I was very specific as to what I wanted done and as to where this noise was coming from. Later that day I was called to pick up my truck and that the bill was over 500 which is close to what I was expecting. I purchased the parts thru a part distributer in the city for the belt and tensioner to the sum of $110 installed them myself and low and behold the noise was still there. I called the next morning and took the truck back for them to look at again this time they said no charge. They told me this time that the noise was coming from the exhaust manifold and that it as normal for this truck to sound like that. I knew that it had a broken stud on the exhaust manifold before I took it in but knew that this is not where the noise was coming from but to follow their expert diagnosis had the exhaust gasket and manifold changed by and outside shop as they didnt even try to quote for the repair at Merlin. After getting my truck back from the exhaust shop this same nose is still there! Disappointed I called the dealership and left a message with the service advisor that I had dealt with the two previous times and didnt get a call back now I am fuming mad I try and call the service manager but am put back to the service advisor where this time I didnt leave a message as it wouldnt have been a very nice one. I called back later that same day and asked to speak to the branch manager where I was sent to his voice mail so I left a message regarding the problem and my number for him to call me at. Once again no retuned call from any one, starting to get the picture that they really just dont want to stand by their product. The next day I am frustrated beyond the point where I should be and am considering getting a different brand of truck to avoid having to deal with this dealership ever again but figure I will call one more time and this time I was left at the service managers voice mail, again I leave the messages of the problem and my number, still no return from anyone. So far I am out $966 for the repairs that I have done as per their mis diagnosis of this noise. At this point I am not asking for my money back or a refund for this situation I just want a call back and them to admit that they are wrong and that they will look into what this noise is and give the right diagnosis for it so that I can figure out what my next step is.

Absolute disgrace. I had a blown spark plug. So I brought it to the service department in merlin, they told me what was wrong and so on. New spark plug and hela-coil. I got my truck back 10days later because they had to order new spark plugs. ( i got a full tune up) i picked up my truck turned it on and check engine light was on, so they wiped it. I drove my truck for less then a hour the light came on again. Brought it back, they told me my engine my hooped. I asked how, the guy at the counter told me they probably put the plug to deep and it ended up striking the piston or damaging my head. I asked how can they do that he said the hela coil must have spun in with the plug, then proceeded to tell me they were going try a few things to fix it, 4days went by (working days) and nothing so i called and the counter guy told me i would have to get a new engine at my cost, around $3.5k used. I said no you messed it up not me and so on, after arguing for a bit i got to see the shop manager , he told me that a hela-coil wasnt a Ford recommend fix, i asked why do it then, and why didnt you give me another option. I ended up getting all my money back, got my truck back, brought it to another shop ( friend recommended) , they ran a borescope in to see what the deal was. There was no damage the helacoil was done wrong, these boys put in a time cert instead of a hela-coil and my truck runs perfectly. So basically im never going back to merlin ford again for service, i see where the name stealership comes from. I hope nobody else get caught by in experience in their shop or shoddy workmen/tradesmen. Very Poor service , if i didnt have a backbone they would have shafted me.

So my father in law dropped off his ford edge yesterday to get fixed. Went in to pick it up this morning and they were going over the bill and noticed they said everything was fine. Apparently no issues.. but charged them 152 dollars for looking over it. From what I know so far they were having issues with their seat belts and when you went in reverse there was a high pitch squealing when you backed up. The service dude said everything was check and the vehicle has absolutely nothing wrong with it.. So my father in law sat in the Ford and put the seat belt on and sure enough it wasnt fixed nor Im guessing wasnt checked.. So my fiance said to the service dude why wasnt he charged to get the squealing fixed when it goes in reverse.. He said oh everything was checked by the mechanic and everything is fine.. So she got the service dude to go outside while her dad backed the suv up.. and sure enough there was a squeal. So Im guessing the dealership needs to supply hearing aids to the mechanics. After he heard there was a squeal he offered to not charge the 152 and said he would get everything fixed.. lmao.. You just had the vehicle for 24 hours and your mechanic said everything was perfect.. then he starts saying it will cost 500 dollars to get the seat belts fixed and all this other shi#!... I would not recommend this dealership to anyone.. Theres a reason I drive a Chev and this is a perfect example of the due diligence ford mechanics put into fixing things.

had an ok service in merlin... we were entertained well by Tom, and except for the others weve been waiting there standing and the receptionist called for a sales person lots of them are available at that time but doesnt bother to entertain us.. why? because coz we were just wearing our work out clothes we just got out of the gym and decided to take A look of their suv vehicle, I was not really gonna trade my car but ended up going home with the a pre owned suv. the other sales person thought maybe we will just gonna waste their time, But sorry for them they just lost My sale... except for Tom he was pleasant and accommodating, and the only thing that I was upset off is the when I got the vehicle home for a couple of days and found out that the ceiling head liner has a of big gap I informed them and asked them if they can fix it and even went there and showed it to them the guy was surprised seeing that gap and him telling me it might be just like that, and I was like what duh heck was kinda annoyed to that guy and ended up them not fixing it and said ford wont cover the cost of fixing it I was really upset, them not really doing anything on what they promised saying its a certified and theres nothing wrong with the vehicle... my mistake as well coz I wasnt able to check the vehicle very well its hard to noticed it though, well lesson learned.
