If you dont mind paying higher prices than other garages Glenwood is a decent place to take your car. I took 3 different cars there over the course of about 5 years. Most of my experiences were good, and some just awful. They had to keep my car overnight one time because they didnt get the job done during work hours even though I dropped it off at 10am. Also, they justify charging higher rates by using set labour times for each job. Im convinced that each technician charges 20 to 30 hours of labour in each 8 hour work day. Its dishonest in my opinion. For example, they tried to charge me $70 worth of labour to change some light bulbs while other garages I went to will just charge the materials price (less than $5) and chalk it up for labour time on the bigger jobs that actually take some time to perform. I definitely wouldnt recommend taking your car here for an SGI out of province inspection. They love using their SGI inspection certification as a license to gouge. The first time I brought a vehicle there for an out of province inspection they made me replace my $80 all season wiper blades with crappy $30 blades that didnt even fit my windshield. They admitted their mistake and gave me different wiper blades that fit, but those blades still werent nearly as good as the original ones which they deemed unsafe. In the end I was happy because I got the SGI stamp for only an extra $30, so recently I brought another car there for an out of province inspection. They quoted me $2800 ($950 higher than Als garage on 51st) for the "needed" repairs on my $5000 pontiac grand prix. Thats right. Over 50% of the cars value. As a result that car went back to Alberta without any repairs done and is driving on the Albertan roads without any trouble and I am driving a different car here in Saskatchewan twice as old with triple the mileage that doesnt run nearly as well and is much less safe. Its a faulty system that Glenwood loves to milk. The owner (forget his name right now) would make a great politician. He could sell ice to an Eskimo! They admit that their prices are higher than other places and he justifies the gouging with all sorts of convincing bullshit jargon. Overall its a business effectively built for profit, which I cant blame them for, and they normally provide good, competent service. Its a corporate money-printing shop, so dont go to Glenwood looking for affordable repairs or a small town feel garage where the staff will talk straight and honest with you.

I bought a car and it appeared that I need to fix couple things in the car. One of the things is keyless entry remote. I went to Glenwood, because I read a good feedback about the service and expected that it will satisfy my needs. I brought my car in the morning, afternoon I got a call from them with explanation what might be wrong with my car and question do I want further investigations of the issues. I reply no to all and asked about a ride to get my car. After all I got a report with explanation about my car condition and a bill. In the bill one raw looked a little bit suspicious. It was a price for checking a door remote system. The report said that key fob is working and further investigation required to determine why the remote is not working. In case you dont know in Walmart they have a detector which can tell you if your key fob is working or not and it is free. The price for telling me that key fob is working was $40 or so. When I asked what job you actually did to determine that key fob is working and mentioned Walmart detector I got answer that mechanic spend 20 minutes on the issue, then I was told that the equipment to check the key for cost several thousandth dollars. Since it was end of the day, the manager was not able to explain what was actually done on my car and mechanic was off duty we agreed that next day I will speak to somebody who can explain what "20 minutes job" on "very expensive" equipment was done. Next day I saw the mechanic and he showed me similar to Walmart device which can detect if key fob works. To operate the device you have to press button on your key fob and on device. 10 seconds top!!! I got my refund for the "job" on key fob. No other attempt to make up the situation. Overall people was nice in the service. But I am not bringing my car to the service again.

I couldnt put my 2002 Toyota Camry into gear. Being fairly new to Saskatoon, I brought it to Glenwood after hearing rave reviews from a couple friends. The first thing you notice is their great employees. A technician actually came out to my car so I could show him exactly what the problem was. The shuttle driver was easygoing and hilarious. Initially, they thought it was just a problem with the solenoid. This all happened right before Christmas, but Rob personally called around to local wreckers, trying to find a cheap replacement. When that failed, he ordered in the part from the States. Unfortunately, when they went to install the new solenoid, they discovered the entire transmission would have to be replaced or rebuilt. Still, Rob offered to look around for a used transmission, but it just wasnt in my budget. I went in the other day, expecting to pay at least a few hundred dollars for all the labour. But Rob didnt charge me a dime. As an already-broke university student, I was floored. I have never experienced that kind of customer service at an auto service shop. Ever. TL;DR: Rob and his team gave me the best customer service I have ever had at any auto service shop on the prairies. They honestly care about their customers. And you can bet Ill be going back to their shop for as long as I live in Saskatoon.

The staff I dealt with at Glenwood were courteous and helpful. Their shuttle service is very convenient. Fees and costs were all well explained when I brought my car in for an engine flush and oil change. I had a less pleasant experience when I purchased a complete set of new summer tires. This was mid-winter and I was expecting that the tires would be installed when I came in to have my winter tires removed. I was a bit surprised that when I stopped by to pay for the tires I also ended up leaving with the tires. Glenwood did offer to store the tires, but for a fee. I found this a bit disagreeable as I had just purchased the tires from them. My invoice for the tires included a wheel alignment fee though this work could only be done when I had the tires installed. I called to dispute this and the staff were helpful in resolving the issue. I had a some questions about switching from conventional oil to synthetic and finding a good set of mid-range tires. I appreciate the time the staff spent answering my questions. Despite the frustrations mentioned earlier, I think I will be returning to Glenwood. I hope though that in the future things go more smoothly.

My wife and I have been taking our vehicles to Glenwood for years. Doesnt matter what make - Subaru and several Toyotas in our case, weve always been happy with the experience. We have total confidence in their well trained and experienced mechanics. Believe me these guys are good. They can diagnose an electrical or computer problem faster than any shop around I guarantee! They have all the latest shop equipment there and the techs are all trained up on everything so you know they can work on all the late model vehicles no problem. They recently bought a Subaru diagnostic tool which is awesome! Probably the only private shop in town that has one! All work at Glenwood comes with a 3 year warranty too, not sure who else offers that. Plus you get free roadside assistance included. The friendly, knowledgeable front staff are awesome too! Theyre easy to talk to and do a great job explaining everything. Even the shuttle drivers are great! If they gave free car washes with all servicing, Id probably give them a 6 out of 5!!
