After talking on the phone with a salesman to book an apt to talk about financing, I got the normal little survey to help with what price range and type of vehicle I was looking for, great! And then I show up... the salesman repeated asked if I wanted to test drive this new car out front. I knew it was out of the price range I had indicated and I didnt schedule an apt to test drive a car out of my price range, but to discuss financing and options to further guide my car shopping experience. I asked what the car price was and he wasnt sure.... He seemed a bit confused and took me inside where he wanted to know if I was interested in the car out front, THEN we could talk about financing. I said I wasnt because it was out of my price range. LESSON 1: the Drive Nation by Costco is the "higher end" cars, the other location is "lower end". After constant up and down questions from me, to the salesman, to the assistant manager, she finally came to speak with me. She asked why I wasnt looking for a newer car, I explained because I couldnt afford it. After repeatedly asking me, I insisted, it REALLY was because I couldnt afford it... Afterwards, we FINALLY were able to get to the real purpose of the apt and crunch some numbers. Then we went to the "lower end" lot to look at cheaper cars. I test drove a couple, however after expressing interest, I was never OFFERED the inspection documents. LESSON 2: Dont forget to ask for these documents and other related car history documents. (It isnt given out freely). Coincidentally, my uncle went to test drive a car (wasnt looking to buy) and was offered inspection documents, and was encouraged to make a counter offer to his offer... VERY different experience for a young girl actually looking to buy. LESSON 3: Bring a man along so you get taken seriously. Yes it is 2017. No I was not asked what my counter offer was. After deciding on a car, I asked if it was possible for the car to be dropped off after I signed the papers so I could get plates an insurance the next day. They agreed, I signed (after asking what documents were in front of me, the salesman had to go and ask, very little knowledge of documents), I almost drove away before another salesman came out to apologize that now that I had signed, they cant put their plates on to drive the car. I had to drive all the way across town, to get my plate from home, get it insured, by that point I snagged a family member to drop me off so I could drive it away myself. A few hours before signing, the salesman said I could get my tank of gas filled if I left a review. As I didnt have time before I signed off, I left with the tank on E, I was worried I wouldnt even get it to the closest gas station. LESSON 4: Dont expect anything less than a few drops of gas in the tank if you dont write a review. (ironic as I am now writing about my negative experience). When I drove it home, I started to notice a knocking when turning and the driver door arm rest broken. LESSON 5: The inspection is only a document indicating what they decide to fix so its "drivable". It is not a true thorough inspection. No mention is given to the minor defaults to be able to make an informed decision on a purchase. LESSON 6: Shame on me for thinking that DriveNation was anything more than your below average used car dealership. I took off the Drive Nation sticker logo and license plate cover as soon as I could. I would not recommend purchasing a vehicle there unless you had no other choice! Final note: If you would like waste time in arguing why your price range is the way it is, to purchase a vehicle without being shown in detail ALL the defects and history information and deal with a confused salesman who doesnt know or go through the documents together that you need to sign and leave with a car with no fuel, look no further!

I was searching online for financing options, DriveNation page popped up. I was required to enter my email and phone number which I did. I closed the site when it took me to the application page which I wasnt ready to fill. Few hours later, I received a call from DriveNation. I told the lady (though very nice) I actually was not serious about it but wanted to know the kind of plans they offers. I gave her my information which she said was needed to proffer a plan that best works for me. On realizing I was qualified, we agreed to meet the next day. Few hours later, I ran into a friend who offered a good deal on his car because he was moving out of the province. So I called DriveNation to cancel the appointment. But the financial manager that spoke to me gave me a bitter experience with DriveNation. Weve not even discuss or agreed on any car or plan. Yet he sounded as if I breach a contract. How can a contract that was never in existence be breached? I only gave out my information because the lady said it was needed to ascertain if I am qualified. The guy could be a financial manager but he has a lot to learn in respect to customer relation. I really had a bitter experience with him on the phone.

My fiancée and I had been looking to replace our SUV that had gotten written off the previous summer and we found a good replacement on the website and called in wanting to see if my credit would even be able to finance a vehicle. They took my information over the phone and we made a time to go in later that day. When we got there everyone was especially friendly and they told me that my credit wouldnt let us get exactly what we had wanted. After talking with us a bit they managed to find us something that we ended up loving even more. We took the vehicle for a test drive and it was so much fun, especially Mack Aime, she made the experience of picking out our first new car just so much more enjoyable. When we initially went in we didnt think we would be driving home with a new vehicle but with the help of the staff, and especially Mack, everything was easy to understand and they worked with us to make the financial side work with us as well. Truly an awesome experience and my fiancée and I are in love with our new vehicle.
