TLDR - Reid Wolfe (service advisor) did back flips to get us to spend an additional 2k-3k on unneeded repairs and service. **See full story below** I have had my difficulties with this "Dealership" (they are more of an auto sales place than dealership the prices on vehicles used and new are a little steep). My family has four Hondas which we have been serviced through Regina Honda for the most part. They have exceeded expectations fixing a flat tire for free and cutting us a couple of discounts (Dilawri rewards program). My first kerfuffle was when it took them over two months to find a part to fix my car a few years ago, but this week really capped things off. I took in our 2005 Honda Pilot in for service the service advisor was Reid Wolfe. I have had a generally good service with Reid but this week it floundered. I had three problems I wanted looked at. Problem one the check engine light was on. Problem two the SRS system light kept coming on and off. Problem three the driver’s side map light was not working. Upon diagnosis cost ($125) the downstream 02 sensor was not working correctly cost to repair (473.69) this was approved. The driver’s side seat buckle switch was malfunctioning and a part needed to be ordered in (231.99). The map light it was determined needed a new “circuit board” per Reid this was declined. Upon dropping off the Pilot on Friday February 10 Reid looking over the service history said that the Pilot was due for a new timing belt as it had been five years since last timing belt change this jobs costs at least a grand if not more. In my groggy state and trusting Reid I said sure to the timing belt change. Upon getting home I learned that the timing belt did not need to be changed as the actual interval is 7 years or around 100k miles not five years I called back and declined this service. I DO NOT appreciate being lied to. The O2 sensor change was also declined as the part costs $80-$130 (Reid falsely claimed it could cost up to $300) and should not take more than an hour to be installed. The charge of 473.69+ a diagnostic charge of $125 for one O2 sensor replacement is pure comedy gold. The pilot was picked up by me on Friday Feb 10 and brought back Monday February 13 and the seat belt was changed. Reid messed up getting me a service shuttle pickup wasting over an hour of my day. Total cost $124.88 (cost of diagnosing the O2 problem) + $231.99 (fixing the seat belt) + 24.83 (shop charge – they are to petty too pay for their own doo rags and nitrile gloves). Total charge 419.98. I took the pilot to a different shop where the 02 sensor was diagnosed and found to be operating fine and just needed to be cleaned cost (free a mechanic friend helped me out). The dome lite repair quoted by Honda at (214.31) was fixed by me in 20 minutes + one YouTube video and a multi tool (an electrical contact needed to be bent back). My trip to Regina Honda could have end up costing me almost 3k instead it cost me 420 and my relationship with Regina Honda. I am aware that they have nice value added services like a service shuttle, wifi, “multipoint inspection”, car wash, high pressure salespeople, “rewards” program. But it is not worth the premium, unbelievably there is a lot more commonality between Hondas and other vehicle makes (GM comes to mind) and other shops and OEM parts will do the job just fine. Honda as corporate whole really drums up the whole quality thing and loves to stick a label on very part and charge a % premium (they charged me $2 for a 10 cent remote screw). As for the Dilawri group they are operating in a high price high polish sort of manner and I get it, but I also won’t be lied to or swayed by image control. AT

I leased a 2011 Civic from these guys. Once all the dealing was finished, we settled on a $2500 cash back option. I was told that the cheque may take up to a week to arrive. A week later, I was called in to the dealership and told that they were reducing my cash back payment to $2000, due to an error on the dealerships part. They further explained to me that I was actually underpaying for the vehicle by $1000 (because of the error) and that the dealership was willing to "split" the difference and only reduce my cash back payment by $500. I was not happy, they knew it, but told me that nothing could be done because I didnt sign anything regarding the cash back. The manager didnt even bother to talk to me that day. When I asked if this would further delay the cheque, I was told that the cheque would be in my hands that week. Three weeks later I went in to speak to the manager. He told me that the reason my cheque was late was because the accountant has been on holidays, and that it would be in either later that day (Monday) or the next day. Thursday, the manager (Steve) called me to tell me that my cheque was in. Upon going to pick it up, I saw that the total was $2000. I was expecting a cheque of the original $2000, plus the difference between my deposit ($500) and my first payment (approximately $380). When I talked to Steve about it, he told me that the difference payment would have been refunded back to my master card. I checked right there in the showroom, and have found that not to be the case. It took weeks to get that $120 back. What upsets me the most is that I walked away from a very good private deal for a civic in Calgary (losing a $400 deposit in the process) in order to purchase this car. Why? Because I beleved that entering in to a relationship with Honda Canada was worth something. Now Im realizing that Honda feels that it can say whatever it wants in order get me to sign, and then choose not to honour its agreements once they "have" me. Its starting to become evident that Regina Honda doesnt care about its customers once the deal is done. Furthermore, a month after we bought, I took my new car on the highway for a trip. I noticed a bad shimmy at highway speed. I took it in to the dealership, and was told that every tire was out of balance. Of course, I expected the extra warranty I paid for to cover this, but was told it wasnt covered. A brand new vehicle, with EVERY tire out of balance, and its some how my fault? Now the lease is up, and they want me to buy from them again. What would you do?

We had left hatch not quite closed on our Honda Pilot over Christmas at families in Saskatoon. Drained battery stone dead. Removed battery and took it into house hoping it wasnt froze being it was -30. Luckily it wasnt so i charged it. But our command start had lost memory of our fobs. Called honda service department to ask if it was maybe a simple fix. Guy told me to go to Kustom Eis. Went there and guy looked at it and said i will have to make a appointment for the following week. Figured the brain of command start maybe has damage and will have to be replaced. Min 60 dollar charge to look into it plus parts. Thought that was BS. Left it for a few days and i stewed. Thought i would take to Honda to see if they could reprogram it. Assistant Service Manager tried to mess around with it but said i would have to leave for night and command start guy would look into it in morning. So i left it and had someone come get me. Next morning he called me and told the brain was fried. 399.00 for new one. Gave me 100 off cause wiring was already installed. Was almost going to tell him to put a new one in but did not understand how it would be fried from draining battery. Talked to a friend from kileys and he sent me to Eric at Awesome Audio. Went there expecting that I was up the creek without a paddle. Within 3 minutes, seriously 3 minutes, he had everything back to the way it was before battery had drained. Even took a minute to tie wiring up cause honda had left everything hanging down under dash and was bouncing off brake pedal. I was in disbelief that it was working again. And when I asked what I owed him he said dont worry about it. I definitely am going to be sending anyone that I talk to to Awesome Audio. I would lay in a puddle so he wouldnt get his feet wet. All round good guy. Only good nice thing honda did for me was wash our pilot. To bad they drove it outside put e brake on and brakes froze solid. Had to pour the gas to it to get it to break free and now has clunking noise. I assume pads are nfg now and they where brand new.
