We purchased a new Forester - Demonstrator - in September 2011 from Subaru St. Agathe because of our past satisfaction with its service and its good reputation. Since that time we have had excessive consumption of oil (most recently 2 litres required after only 1500 ks) but Subaru St. Agathe said they could find no discernible problem. The owner has not returned my phone calls. We tried to follow Subaru Canadas recent recommendation to have an oil consumption test at another Subaru dealer but Subaru-Montreal could not do the test because of discernible "OIL LEAK FROM FRONT COVER AND CAME CARRIER TO REPAIR" . They said they could not do the (expensive) repair under warranty because despite only having 83, 848 Ks the date had recently expired. You may see the reports on the extended warranty cover for this problem given Forester owners of this vintage by Subaru USA in response to their class action lawsuit. UPDATE: AUGUST 2017 Finally, Eric, the owner, ordered certain repairs and had the engine changed last Fall. .Subaru Canada, for its part, still refused to acknowledge the existence of this widely recognized problem. Our Forester now seems to have a new lease on life as after all these years of trouble and expense,, oil consumption is normal.

Nice gang of cabochons, between changing a whole reservoir to end up nevertheless with a fairly large gas leak and persisting with the guy of the parts on the phone because I say the part I need (room that I came To disassemble and that I had in my hands) did not exist and that it was impossible that it existed. I love Subaru cars, but dealers like Subaru Sainte-Agathe also give them bad reputations.
