I took my vehicle in to West Kildonan Auto in April, 2017. I needed an oil change and to have a diagnostic run on my car. Thats what I verbally confirmed with the guy working the front. Some time later I came back to settle the bill and they took it upon themselves to change the engine air filter and cabin air filter without calling or consulting me, this added $108.13 to my bill for work I never wanted performed by them. When I confronted the guy at the front and asked straight out "Do you normally call before you perform additional work?" he stammered out that they typically did. When he saw my unhappiness he said next time I brought my car in they would give me a discount or a free oil change, without giving me anything in writing. Sorry pal, there isnt gonna be a next time. In addition to the poor customer service and lack of consultation, the few times I took my vehicle there they failed to call me when my vehicle was ready for pick up, I live within view of their lot and I could see when my vehicle was waiting and I was the one to call them to ask if it was ready. Thanks guys... All of that said, I dont think theres an issue in the quality of their work, however there is an issue with the way they do business.

These guys have been looking after my personal and work vehicles for at least 25 years. They have gone out of their way many times to make sure I could have my vehicle on the road without interrupting my work commitments. They are the true example of a community based business catering to their neighbors. Kudos to Bill and all the guys for being great role models for me and my own business. Place is a joke. Dropped my car off to find out why it kept stalling. They told me they would have a look and call me once they found out and wed go from there. Instead they called saying it was fixed and that I owed $450. Sure enough, the same problem happened again the next day. Nothing fixed and $450 down the drain. So many other options out there, avoid this one.
