Out of necessity, my wife and I decided to have a second vehicle for family use. We opted for a pre-owned crossover and among those posted by dealers on line, we were able to find several units that meet our requirements such as make, year, model, trim and color. We found the 2009 TOYOTA RAV4 Sport offered by THE CAR STORE ON MAIN the most reasonable as to price, odometer reading and the overall condition of the vehicle. Upon entering THE CAR STORE ON MAIN, Allen, the salesman, went out of his way to greet and made us comfortable. I told him right away the specific vehicle we were interested with and just within few minutes getting the vehicle and paperwork ready, we went for a test drive. Allen was so accommodating and very professional as he took time to explain everything we have to know about the vehicle. He did not put pressure on us nor give us any hint to decide right away. For a pre-owned RAV 4 in its excellent condition, he does not have to, as the financial package being offered to us was very reasonable. Our experience with Elves, the finance person, went on smoothly. He was so professional in explaining the financial options which we could choose and in answering our queries. Within reasonable time, we were able to finish all the financial paper works which included the car protection package without any pressure on us. I look forward that THE CAR STORE ON MAIN would be doing business with our circle of friends as I can not wait to share this pleasurable experience. It is interesting to note perhaps that I was lucky enough not to delay my visit to THE CAR STORE ON MAIN as there were two other interested buyers of the same RAV4 Sport who came after us.
I knew something was different about this place when I walked in. Instead of a bunch of 25 year old dudes wearing shiny new suits, these guys were dressed like people you could talk to and have an actual conversation witout feeling pressured. My oberservation was correct. It started with Al, who told me that Sadly the White on White Murano I wanted had been sold that day, but that he had another one, a year newer, recently traded in, and almost ready to go. FOR THE SAME PRICE ALMOST I walked in on a lunch break, in a rush as usual, and AL took care of me stat. No waiting, twiddling my thumbs, They asked me questions to see if the car was compatible with my lifestyle (even though i was pretty much already sold on it) they offered me a water, and we went over the details. Then I met Elves, the cool, straight forward finance guy, who didnt tell me only what I wanted to hear, he told me everything I needed to know to make an educated decision. In the end I bought a mint 2011 Murano with 70km, got a good trade in for my car given the damage it already had, and got the Murano for under 19k. Killer. Oh yeah, and I bought the extended warranty..Not because I got coerced into it, more because given my knowledge of car repairs, all the bells and whistles that come with a Murano SV, and my unwillingness to have a savings account dedicated to just CAR REPAIR, it worked for me. If you guys ever read this, please know that I appreciate all the extra work you did, and that Ill return in the future. James
My Husband and I had been looking for another van. we searched every car dealership in Winnipeg and when we went to The Car Store on Main the first time the staff was very friendly came out and opened the vehicle for us, let us look at it and talked to us. we continued our search and 3 wks later went back to The Car Store on Main. Al greeted us and remembered us! he got the van ready and we took it for a test drive. I really liked that they were up front with us about the vehicle. it wasnt like going to a dealership, we didnt get the sales pitch and the pressure to buy the vehicle right then and there (which we did anyway) or the hassle of negotiating the price, they didnt trash their competition like so many dealerships do. Their finance person was really great to deal with. the van was ready when they said it would be and they offered to come after hours to accommodate us for pick up. a really great group of people to deal with and a great price on the van we purchased as compared to other dealerships. a great experience with out the pressure that we got from other dealerships when we purchased our last vehicle. It was a great experience dealing with them.
Dont be fooled by this 4 Star Google rating as this dealership prefers customers that are easy targets for bait-and-switch tactics or who can easily be lured in by add-ons. The salesman, Al Boulet, seemed like a great guy when the deal started; however, things quickly turned around when it came time to negotiate a fair price on the deal. After being insulted about my lack of knowledge about the market and finance, I had enough. Mr. Boulet refused to take my cash offer, which was only $400.00 lower than the listed price. Mr. Boulet insisted that I finance and that they would not be accepting a cash offer of any amount. This is when the red flags were raised about this dealership. Protect yourself and please shop elsewhere. The contract that was offered was beyond shady and instead of coming to an agreement for an offer, I was told that they do not negotiate price. This is not listed on their website at all. Also, please watch out for the CarProof report when it says Accident Free as there has been many horror stories in the past about this dealership manipulating them. Please go to any other dealership in the city because this place is full of shade so beware.
I have dealt with The Car Store on Main a couple of times over the last year or so. Both times I have come away completely satisfied with my purchase. They offer used vehicles at reasonable rates. They will also search for the best financial institution to allow for credit rebuilding, if applicable, as this was my case. What sets them above others, in my opinion, is the fact that their products look and perform like new. Many of their vehicles are still under manufactures warranty to coincide with their own in-store warranty. Plus, your gas tank will leave their lot full. Every member of their staff is approachable, listens to your needs/situation and will do their best to help you purchase a vehicle. In my opinion, you wont have a better used car purchase experience anywhere else. Tony, Al, Elves and all those who make The Car Store on Main what it is, thank you so much. No other car store compares to the standards you offer.
Just bought an 09 Jetta from here and had a wonderful experience. We found an advertisement for the car on Kijiji and called them to see if we could come see it. They even brought the car inside for us to look at, which was a bonus considering there was a blizzard. Upon getting to the store we were very impressed to see the selection of cars, there were very impressive makes and all of them looked very nice (they specialize leased cars with one owners). The men who helped us were lovely, not pushy at all. They were very helpful, gave us all the information we needed and answered all of our questions. Will definitely keep The Car Store on Main in mind for any future car purchases!
