The day before my trip I reviewed my car rental details. I had booked with Budget but found National was $10 cheaper and had a free upgrade coupon so I switched. I arrived at the airport and proceeded to the onsite counter. The Budget lineup had 10 people waiting and one poor girl serving but there was no one in the National lineup. I was greeted by a friendly young man who offered me a choice of vehicles in the upgraded class I had booked. Since I had registered with Emerald Club, my paperwork and details were all ready to go. We were done is about 2 minutes. They had a great selection of cars to drive including a Chrysler 300S and Dodge Chargers. We chose the Charger which ended up being a bright yellow R/T. The car was in excellent condition and thoroughly enjoyable to drive for the 10 days. Return was simple as pull up, unload, get a receipt and go. No hidden fees or overcharges, exactly as the pre-rental price stipulated. I will rent from National again and am in November. They had the best price, service and product. ****Disclaimer: This is an independent review. While I was asked to provide a review, I was in no way promised anything in return or exchange.

I brought the rental car back and was advised it had a stone chip in the front window that was a.) extremely small - less than a millimeter?; & b.) camouflaged amongst other flecks of dust. After the National rep pointed it out to me, I agreed there was a stone chip. As we discussed the issue, I felt judged by the rep for not noticing it before then. I asked if National expects their customers to notice something that small when they inspect the car in a dark parking garage before they drive it for the first time. the rep responded with "the windshield is inspected three different times before its given to a customer. Hertz, budget and most others are way more strict when it comes to stone chips." He told me that hed check with his maintenance crew to see if the window could be glued instead of replaced. I said ok and would he circle back with me to advise me either way. He said yes. As of today, he has not contacted me. I spoke to my travel agent at wor and shared my experience. I wont rent from National at the Winnipeg airport again.

I am a regular customer at this location and have to say that the entire team exemplify exceptional customer service and exceed my expectations on a regular basis. The moment I approach the counter they are looking for my reservation. Not only do they recognize me but they remember my name - wow! I never wait any longer than 10 minutes to have my transaction completed. I have received follow-up courtesy calls at home to check in and ensure everything with the car rental is to my satisfaction and if it is not to contact them immediately for assistance. I could not be more pleased with my experience. There is one individual on this team that goes above and beyond every single time - his name is Kyle P. A sincere thank you to him and his representation of National Car Rental. This type of service is the ultimate "customer experience". Keep up the great work!

We had planned a road trip from Winnipeg to New Orleans and reserved an SUV at another Car Rental company, only to find out that their unlimited mileage policy was limited to a maximum of 3000 kms. We were in a bind and decided to go to National to find a last minute rental. We were able to rent a Minivan and given a discounted rate. During our drive to the U.S. we discovered that the A/C was not working and National gave us the option to trade the van at another location in the U.S. We were fortunate enough that it was cloudy and therefore did not end up trading the van and ended up driving it back. National was more than accommodating and was able to compensate us for the inconvenience. Although the van that we rented did not have A/C, we will definitely be renting from National again due to their great service.

The phone booking went very well. Arrived at June 13, 2016, in Winnipeg Airport, a car was quickly assigned to me and I had all the directions for parking and the rules of return. Then I had to delay my departure, so call customer service. Again excellent service and clear answers to my questions. A sincere thank you for your welcome!

Executive elite member for 3 years now, but recently Ive noticed a change. Customer service as always is great, and especially at this location. What has changed its the quality of the vehicles. It used to be when I was picking a car from the executive section all would have a few upgraded features such as power seats, heated seats, sun roof, leather interior, etc. Very often now Ive come across base model vehicles with none of these. Its this a corporate decision? If it is, it certainly isnt one this long time customer appreciates. Recent rental locations are Winnipeg, Calgary, Edmonton, Vancouver, and thunder Bay. All airport locations. Thunder Bay was the worst by far. Vehicle had 60 000 km, and no Bluetooth, not exactly ideal.

Over the past decade I have been a consistent customer of Enterprise Car Rental (travelling to Winnipeg from Edmonton to visit my 90 year old mother approximately every 5 weeks). I have recently moved to National at the Winnipeg airport, and my reason for doing so has everything to do with a fabulous employee, Jeremiah Bergman. Jeremiah has been incredibly helpful and supportive of our family over my trips, and our family trips to Winnipeg, and we have always had wonderful vehicles and service. When he indicated a move to National, I said I would move with him! We have only had one rental experience since the move, but that first experience was excellent. Thanks for the opportunity to comment on this.

Quite shocking renting a vehicle mid December in Winnipeg at the beginning of a snow storm, and the rental company only has 2 vehicles with Winter Tires. Plus, they charge you an extra 12 dollars a day for them. Thank you for supplying the vehicle with winter wipers and an ice scraper, but who do you think you are for charging for something that should come with the vehicle no extra charge. The winter tires that I paid an extra $12 a day for were the cheapest set of winter tires I have ever seen. They say it is not law to have winter tires on their vehicles, but in my mind it is safety. My vehicles at home have winter tires on them, and I expect my rental vehicle to have them, no extra charge.

Busy noon hour on Wednesday, April 15. Lots of walk-ups. But I am an Emerald Club Executive member and went through the offer of 4 vehicles ("No, we dont have that one any more" and one which had a tire with low pressure) before we were offered a tank, Chev Tahoe. No windshield washer fluid. And my rental in January at this same location was a vehicle with all-season" tires. Went to Kenora; they have hills. No traction and extremely dangerous to get to stop. Thankfully major highways were bare. I like the National rental locations at Calgary and Edmonton airports but this place has to pick up their game. Frontline staff were responsive and did their best. They are not the problem.
