Mid-day on a Saturday my girlfriend took her Sienna van to Midas (3070 Portage) to get a leaky tire fixed. They kindly agreed to fit the repair in their busy Saturday afternoon schedule. Mid to late afternoon Midas called my girlfriend to say that her tire had too much damage from driving under-inflated and could not be reinstalled. That was the right assessment. They also told her they had one tire of the correct size. Wanting her car back she gave them the go ahead. She then informed me of what had transpired. I called Midas and found out the new tire was not a Run Flat Tire (RFT), which is what the Sienna drives on - the Sienna comes with no jack and no spare tire. I told the attendant that the replacement tire should be a RFT, that you dont mix standard and RFTs tires, and that you normally change tires in pairs as a minimum. By then the perceived notion that the car had to be out had taken over, plus, they had been given the go ahead. This in my view was an unsafe situation. The following Tuesday I was able to meet with Ray, the Manager. I expressed my view that we had an unsafe situation on our hands. I also added that as the experts they should have told my girlfriend that the new tire was not RFT and that mixing a standard tire with RFTs, and not installing new tires in pairs are not recommended procedures. In addition she should have been given options of 1) finding the right tires herself and bringing them over to be installed, or 2) leaving the car with them until Monday to allow Midas to get the correct tires. Ray told me he would look into it and call me back later in the day. He did and offered the following resolution: take back the incorrect tire with full refund of purchase and installation costs, and installation of a pair of RFT tires at the normal cost. Fair deal! Bottom line: I am absolutely convinced there was no ill intent at work on anyones part. This situation developed as a result of a perceived sense of urgency and a certain level of inexperience on the part of the staff on duty at that particular time. This can happen anywhere when supervisory positions are not optimally manned on weekends or during leave periods. What matters is that the folks at Midas (3070 Portage) tackle problems up front, respect their customers and deal with them with HONESTY. What more to ask for? I will not hesitate to go back to them for repairs.

Ray was very helpful and did not go over the price quoted for the work. Only recommendation would be to accept the coupons Midas puts out - I got over $1000.00 of work done and not one coupon was accepted. I updated the review to 5 stars because the work I had done had an issue. The fix was done without issue and done promptly. This is the best a person could hope for - Ive had other companies charge me hundreds to fix a problem and when it didnt fix it charge me more for a different fix.

Dropped in Saturday @ noon with no appointment to check a rattle on my F150 brakes. With no hesitation Ray and his boys jumped on it instantly and were able to find and fix the brakes. 2 hours later with a complimentary grease job, my F150 was ready to go. Price $0.00 and a smile! I know where I will be going next time! Thanks Ray

horrible experience there - muffler install looks like an amateur did it - charged 50% over what they had originally quoted and what speedy muffler has quoted and air conditioner worked when the car went in but not when it came out - no accountability or satisfaction. would give 0 or less stars but cant
