I originally wrote this for their Lakewood location... but since that location couldnt make it right I was eventually passed to the King Edward location, where the staff were friendly, but Im now going on 2 more months of waiting for a call from them - after emailing and calling... so go ahead and read below. Im updating at the bottom... look at the dates and youll see the service I received - it began in October 2016 and hasnt been fully resolved yet... thats 7 months later. Unbelievably disappointed in Boyd. After lies and hours and hours of my time wasted my vehicle still isnt fixed properly, and I havent been contacted in a month and a half - so either they forgot about me which is awful business, or they think I forgot about them and are happy to leave it that way, which is awful business. I brought my vehicle in Oct 21, 2016 and now its Feb 4, 2017 and, again, my issue goes unresolved. Ive been to the shop 4 times for the same issue already - its unreal. 1st) the slip cover on my door wasnt attached and the tab that covers the screw was now missing. 2nd) they attached the slip, after an hour of waiting, but crooked and scratched. They hoped I wouldnt notice and tried to send me away with it wrong but I noticed. They ordered me a new one. 3rd) sat around for another hour until someone finally came and told me the part they ordered didnt include the slip cover... I left before I realised they reattached the existing slip cover (crooked again) without mounting the lock and power window buttons - which left them rattling and virtually inoperable for the next week. 4th) sat around for another 45 minutes and when I get to my car the guy says "theres a defect in the new slip cover"... what???? Whyd I sit around for another 45 minutes??? Why didnt you see that and NOT waste my time???? Oh, and you guessed it, they attached it crooked! That was Dec 29, 2016. I was told Id be called within the week after New Years with a solution including compensation for my time wasted... I emailed Boyd Feb 1 and asked for a phone call - no call. I tried calling the shop twice today during office hours - no one answered and there was no answering machine to leave a message on. So, to the owner, look into this and call me. Sincerely a very disappointed, frustrated client P.S. I havent forgotten about the missing screw cover either. UPDATE - I emailed Boyd Feb 1 asking for a phone call to resolve the issue but receive no such call... since then: Feb 7 I called and I was told that I would get a call back that day or the next day, and that they knew about my situation as they had received the email I wrote Feb 4... Feb 7 - no call back Feb 8 - no call Feb 9 - no call Feb 10 - no call Thats right people - they got my email and STILL NO CALL. And I called them AND STILL NO CALL BACK. Its unbelievable. I am beyond frustrated, disappointed and anxious to have it resolved. Feb 16 I met with a manager and agreed to let Boyd on Kind Edward fix the vehicle - I was told after that we would discuss compensation for the gong show of an experience Id been put through. March 23 - over a month later - my part was in. I brought my vehicle to the Kind Edward location. March 27 - picked up my vehicle and was told the manager was away but would be back later that week and would call regarding compensation... April 17 I emailed saying I hadnt heard back yet about compensation... May 16... no call.... so I emailed asking them to call... May 19 - I left a message for someone to call - guess what, the manager is away again... June 23 - still no call - I tried calling and was given an email address which finally got a response. And, after 8 months, its resolved.
Its amazing what a difference the people make, I had nothing but lies and the run around at the Scurfield location, Ryan the district manager showed that he cared and wanted to make things right so he put me in touch with David at the King Edward location and I must say that Davids service was the best Ive ever had! He delivered on every thing he said he was going to do and the staff at this location were professional, kind, and very competent. My wife just picked up our car and she said it looked amazing, all concerns were addressed and the job was done correctly which is the way things should be! In a previous review I said I would never go to Boyd and, I now I am going to ammend that statement..... I will no longer go to the Boyd on Scurfield even though its much closer to my house until Boyd changes the Management at that location. I will how ever continue to "BRING IT TO BOYD" at the King Edward Street location, someone just rear ended our van 2 days ago and I am glad to say that I already brought it in to David at the King Edward location to have the repairs done. Message to Boyd Corporate, you really need to change the staff at the Scurfield location, I am certain you are losing a great deal of business that you have no idea about as most people just choose to go to another place instead of taking the time I have to get my issues resolved. Another note to Boyd Corporate, you really need to give David at the King Edward location a pat on the back, he really does care and shows it, I watched him deal with other customers while I was waiting and the respect, humour, and diligence displayed needs to be commended! Good job David, you saved anther Boyd customer, you made the difference!
Let me first say I have dealt with boyd at this location a few times in the past, service was great so I returned. I brought my brand new 2016 civic in for a hit and run repair. Not my fault. They fix the damage within 5 days as promised. Only to notice on pick up that they scratched my front fender. No biggie it happens. So, theyre gonna fix and paint my fender, had it for 4 more days the following week and on pick up, scratches were still there. They had tried to blend the scratches and pull a fast one, didnt work. So, I give them another shot to do the work right....well after 3 more days in the shop, the fender got painted with runs and polish and clear coat in my seams and looks like complete garbage. I have broken clips on my chrome piece on the grill and now I have to go back to MPI and have another shop do the repairs properly and so on. The GM David was nice and so was Christie, but needless to say the guys in the back actually doing the job are no good. Very unsatisfied with the work done and time it took pissing around. I will not be back to Boyd Autobody.
Had vandalism occur, someone breaking a window on my car Sunday, called the next morning, friendly gentlemen answered the phone and very polite, got me in the same day. Unfortunately they were out of courtesy vehicles (expected as short notice) but did receive a ride to work which was a big plus. Car finished the same day and they even cleaned the interior and exterior of my vehicle.. wow.. Great Service, honestly really polite staff. Only if this place did mechanical work as well. I would not need to take my vehicle else where for under the hood work. Have a claim with MPI a=on a previous accident and definitely will take it to Boyd Autobody to get it done there rather than the dealer I normally go too.
