My experience has been mixed with this dealership, I went back in January 2016 with my sister to help her buy her first new vehicle before she left at the end of the month for Saskatchewan, our sales associate was very courteous and not pushy at all which we appreciated and ultimately she bought a brand new 2016 Kia Sportage. Along with this purchase comes the famous and non-negotiable "Birchwood advantage" which we had to pay but we assured certain benefits like roadside assistance (which the vehicle already comes with) and tire and rim coverage to protect against damage so long as you have them perform a yearly tire rotation which is covered "free" of charge. She also purchased winter rims and tires which come with thier own "birchwood advantage" covering 3 years of rotations as well. So with all this coverage I was shocked when she returned to Winnipeg in may to have her winter tires (which were mounted and balanced on rims) changed over to the factory rims and tires she was charged almost $50. When I emailed the service manager David Pommer and explained the situation the response I got was that the seasonal change over is not the same as a rotation despite the fact they were mounted and balanced on rims and she would not be covered either way as she has a sask address and the coverage is only good for Manitoba residents. I responded asking if he could explain why s seasonal change over already on rims would be different then a rotation labour wise and also that she had a sask address when she bought the vehicle and has brought it back to mb to have its servicing if she is not eligible to use the birchwood advantage why was she charged hundreds of dollars for it in the first place and if she cant redeem it please refund the charge. Well almost a week has gone by and no word back from anyone at the dealership and it seems they have taken advantage of a quick sale and all the promises that were made are nul and void as such I cant recommend anyone purchase a vehicle from an automotive group that displays such a lack of integrity in its after sales customer service. If the service team at birchwood would like to make this issue right I will update this review accordingly but my words of wisdom would be if you want and honest upfront new car experience with no hidden fees shop elsewhere.... ******update***** 2016/06/17 I was contacted by Birchwood who have since credited my sisters account with the money she had to pay for the tire swap and an apology for not explaining that her coverage would not be applicable due to her out of province address. It is appreciated that they did this, obviously it would have been nice to know from the beginning but mistakes happen I suppose, in any case they have been polite and courteous throughout but future consumers just be aware of the fine print and ask questions first to know what your really getting in your "birchwood advantage" .
Worst customer service ever. !!! I will never go back to birchwood kia again . On oct 29 2016 I and my brother went to birchwood Kia . we went there to see if we can trade in my Honda Civic and get a new Kia Sedona . We were greeted good and we met a sales person (dont know the name ) sales person was rushing and he said its a busy day . So he introduced us to the general manager Derek Witty . We told him what we looking for and told him that we will buy the vehicle today itself if we get a good deal . He showed us one vehicle but we wanted a different color (black or white). He said he has only one vehicle at store and will give discount if we purchase that particular car. He was so pushy and he gave us a quote that wasnt satisfactory for us. So we told him that we need a better deal on this vehicle otherwise we will wait for the black or white vehicle to arrive . Then the general manager started getting frustrated and he started saying things thats not professional at all . He said we are wasting his time and he lost 3 customers because of us and told us to leave the store if we dont buy the car. Im so disappointed with the behavior of the general manager of a reputed company like birchwood kia. He was so unprofessional after we told him that we need time to think . He got really mad and teard the quote he gave us infront of us and walked away and told us to leave the store . This is the worst customer service experience that I had in my whole life . And after we left the store he followed us to the parking lobby and started arguing with us . Is this a professional way to treat your customers ?? I think he needs to show some respect to the customers. I dont think every customer that walk in to your store are supposed to buy the vehicle customers have the right to decide whether they wanna buy vehicle from your company or not .
I will NEVER buy another Kia. The car itself has been decent, but dealing with the service department has been a nightmare each time. The service booking line leaves you on hold for quite some time, and then books you in on the wrong day. The staff on site isnt very helpful either. My co-worker was kind enough to drive me so we both missed an hour of work. I then asked if I had to return a second time because of their booking error if I could have a courtesy vehicle so my co-worker wasnt required to miss additional time. KIA does not authorize courtesy vehicles but I was welcome to wait for the shuttle. Last time I had to use the shuttle I ended up missing almost half a day. If you expect to have service from a service department NEVER GO HERE!
I have been dealing with Kia West now for three years now. From the moment you walk in the front door to work with a sales person all the way up to management the process is respectful and my business felt valued. We only service our vehicles at this location, where the service staff continue to go above and beyond to either fit us in or accommodate our busy schedules for booking timely appointments. The little touches of free coffee, water and popcorn make a wait comfortable. As a young family the new addition of a childrens play area show their understanding of all customers needs, even the "little" people ;).
I went to Kia West in September to "look" at a new Kia SUV. Because of the friendly staff and comfortable atmosphere, I ended up buying a 2017 Sportage from Mike Debrowski. The customer service from both Mike and GM - Derek Witty went above and beyond what I expected from a car dealership. They were friendly, respectful and awesome to deal with. I absolutely love my Kia Sportage and would recommend dealing with Mike, he made the buying process an easy and fun experience! Rohan in finance is also a great guy to deal with...friendly & informative. Thanks Kia West! I will definitely be back!
My first experience purchasing a Kia and my sales rep Franz made it a great one. The entire team (Franz, Doug and Mike) did everything to make sure I left with the right vehicle (Sportage EX) at a great price. When I had concerns during the process they worked together to make sure my experience was a positive one. I have heard about Kias great customer service, nice to have actually experienced it.
