Purchased a vehicle in Whistler and was recommended to have these guys do an inspection before hitting the road. Was told everything looked good but that one of the CV boots was torn and needed replacing. No big deal. I showed up just a bit before close (after spending the day doing paperwork on the vehicle) and was handed the keys just as they were locking up. I asked if the mechanic would stick around for a few moments, but he was too hurried and rushed me out, signing the paperwork and leaving me in the dark, cold and snowy side lot to sort things out and be on my way. Well the good news is that it started up. The bad news is that almost none of the lights worked, save the headlights. no turn signals. no side markers and only one tail light worked. Not exactly ideal when its pitch black in whistler and you have to drive to Vancouver that evening. I have to question if they even took a half-assed glance at the vehicle. I took it to another shop where it was found that it had a broken stud on one wheel, torn cv boot(s) as well as a dangerously loose brake caliper. Needless to say, I cant recommend these guys.
Went in twice two different occasions months apart. The young women behind the front counter wouldnt even give me the chance of explaining my issues without cutting me off, saying its a way bigger job than you think, and that it always takes longer. She would not perform both jobs because of the assumption she made half way through of me discussing my issues. The first issue was a cracked inner fender ( whistler auto fixed it within 1 hour for 30 bucks, i arrived home with a message saying it was fixed ) and the most recent, I was having trouble with a stripped bolt on the transmission housing on a 1975 old school ford. Just from my past 2 expieriences I would take your vehicle to Whistler Auto, as they are very friendly, have great service, and dont get frusterated when you dont know certain parts or terms, or what the actual issue may be.
The owner was the one who dealt with us, and I am so satisfied with our experience. We were having problems with the wheel bearing and had to make it to Vancouver for a doctors appointment, so he allowed us to come in although fully booked, unlike all other automotive shops I called. After words he told us what shape the car was in and everything that could use touching up. Will absolutely be back next time I need vehicle assistance. Thank you!!!!
My vehicle was held hostage until a bill I was unaware of was paid. Do not go here! They tried to convince me vehicle was only worth the 187.00 I owed (no work was done) and urged me to sign my car over to them for scrap. Many other credible garages in town- avoid Local if you can.
Had some engine issues on the way to Joffrey lake. Stopped in here when my engine light came on. While I didnt make it to Joffrey someone suggested a trail nearby, wasnt a total waste of the day. That
Excellent overall. Liam was my first communication he was courteous and friendly. They communicated promptly and kept me updated at all times. Id highly recommend them.
Gone to Local over a dozen times in 6 years for my Audi. They have an past Audi Technician there named Dom, who does great work. Reasonable, reliable and fair.
Honest and knowledgeable solved my issue with my 95 suburban, very understanding crew! Have used all year round for tires and repairs would recommend!
Great staff. Always busy worth calling in advance
