Thank you very much Kelowna Toyota! Today I would like to express my deep gratitude & appreciation to all the staff at kelowna toyota who helped me out of my challenging difficulties over the last few days. Here is my story: On wed November 16th 2016 I drove to Kelowna B.C. in my old 1992 blue 4 runner which has almost 500,000 K.M.s on it. As I was entering the city proper heading to my hotel,I heard an awful CLUNK, CLUNK, CLUNK, coming from my right & to the rear of me. At first I thought it was coming from another vehicle right beside me, & I was starting to feel sorry for the guy , because I thought " That douse not sound Good!! " however, He soon drove right by me, & the sound continued, & I suddenly realized, Hey!, that sound is coming from my my vehicle! Somewhat worried now, I limped the rest of the way to my hotel, ( by this time it was pitch dark ) parked and unloaded, and I thought there is no way I am dealing with this right now everything is closed, I will deal with this in the morning. Thursday morning I was up bright & early ( having not got much sleep anyway, thinking about what it could possibly be ect...) took a look underneath the 4 runner & to my utter dismay, discovered that my rear right strut was just dangling down & not supporting anything! Thats definitely NOT GOOD! I thought, & here I am in Kelowna for a much needed doctors appointment ( for which I have had to wait over 4 months for! ) and the transit system is down to boot because they are on strike! Since it was still very early in the morning & the traffic was still relatively light, I decided to take a chance & drive slowly to the Kelowna Toyota Dealership, wait until they opened up, & pray that something could be done. A few of the staff members must of arrived a bit early to work, so I followed them in the back door, and said " I really hope you Guys can help me out, I am in a bit of a jam, I am in Kelowna for a long awaited doctors appointment, & my old 1992 4 runner is in great need of a fairly major repair. " The nice folks at the desk said they would do their best to fit my vehicle in sometime that morning on account of the special situation I was in. In the meantime, they offered me some hot liquid refreshment & said that they would ensure that I got to my early afternoon doctors appointment if my own vehicle was not ready, & that also, they would pick me back up & shuttle me back to the toyota dealership after my appointment was over with. As things turned out, I did indeed require the use of their shuttle service, ( over the next couple of days in fact ) & here at this point, I would like to express my many thanks & deep appreciation to both shuttle drivers Brian & Steve, ( sorry, I dont know their last names ) for ensuring I did get to my time sensitive appointments on time, as well as picking me up afterwards, & driving me back to the dealership. Thank you very kindly to both of you for helping me out in my times of need. But the phenomenal service didnt stop there! After looking over my 4 Runner thoroughly, the good Kelowna Toyota mechanics discovered, that in addition to the strut challenge they were dealing with, my brake lines were very old & brittle & had started leaking out brake line fluid, & also showed me that my rear brakes would have to be replaced very soon. Sadly, but wisely, they advised me that my 4 runner was no longer safe to drive, and probably, really not worth fixing, because it would cost me quite a bit of money to make her safe again, as well as keeping in mind she has a lot of kilometers on her, (almost half a million!) & who knows what else in her is ready to go next & plus is slowly rusting out to boot. I made the decison to purchase a " newer " vehicle, & to make a long story short would like to very much thank both my vehicle consultant Joe Sassine who was instrumental in helping pick out a suitable vehicle for me as well as Indy Brarr who very much helped me out with my very unique situation,& Selena Teixeira who helped me out with some financial matters. I highly recommend Kelowna Toyota!

I have had both good, and not good experiences with Kelowna Toyota. I once had a 1992 Toyota Pickup, and on occasion needed a little help getting some parts through the service centre. The folks at Kelowna Toyota were always very helpful, and made it very easy to keep my truck on the road. I purchased my vehicle from Kelowna Toyota just over a year and a half ago, and had a very straight forward, hassle free experience. I believe I spent less than an hour in total at the dealership. I complete most of the regular servicing on my vehicle myself, but at one service interval during the winter I brought my vehicle in for an oil change. When I looked at the invoice, I saw that I had been given the wrong oil for my vehicle. I phoned in to let the staff know, but was assured by two different people that I had been given the correct oil, as would be listed on my oil cap. I have since completed all my own oil changes. I recently switched to a new bank, and went into Kelowna Toyota to have my baking information updated with Toyota Canada for the loan on my vehicle that Kelowna Toyota set up for me. I brought in with my all the information they might have required, but was turned away by two employees, who told me that I would need to deal with Toyota Canada myself. I was not given any information on how to deal with Toyota Canada. Later, online, I looked up a number for Toyota Canada and gave that a call. After going through all the menus, it ended up being after hours, and the automated system hung up on me. The next business day, I called the number for Toyota Canada again, and after going through all the menus on the phone, was hung up on again. Since Kelowna Toyota is the the only address and phone number listed on my loan agreement, I assumed they would be able to help me, so I called Kelowna Toyota again, and was told they could not help me for a third time, but this time I was given a number to reach Toyota Canada at. I called Toyota Canada on the new number, and a very helpful lady told me all I needed to do was fax my void cheque to Toyota Canda, and she gave me the contact information I needed. Kelowna Toyota was happy to work with Toyota Canada when it meant selling me a vehicle, but seemed to forget their fax number when I brought in my void cheque to update my billing information. In spite of the experiences that werent as good as others, when issues you have are brought up to upper management, every effort is made to make things right, and improve their operations. Continuous improvement seems to be a priority at Kelowna Toyota.

I dont have any experience with the sales side but previous reviews look generally quite positive. However it seems my experience with the service side are in line with most of the previous service reviews which are not great. Prices are fair and they dont try to sell you servicing your vehicle doesnt need. Their mechanics seem to do good work as well. However, the customer experience leaves a lot to be desired. Most times I drop my vehicle off, I stand at the front desk for quite a while before someone acknowledges me. During this wait it is very common to hear employees fighting with one another, complaining about customers or actually arguing with customers. No wonder I, a paying and easy going customer, feel like an inconvenience whenever I visit. Service work ALWAYS takes longer than they say. As one of many examples, today I waited two hours for a straight oil change, not even a filter change. After that long wait, I get into my vehicle and the driver seat, that I just had shampoo cleaned the day before, was filthy from the mechanics coveralls. The steering wheel was also grimy and most often is after I pickup my vehicle. When dealerships are trying to encourage customers to bring their vehicles in for oil changes, instead of going to the quick oil change places, its surprising that this is the experience I had. I would have been better off to go to a quick oil change place that would have taken 1/8th the length of time and wouldnt have resulted in my seat needing to be re-cleaned since I would have waited in the car while the work was done in literally a fraction of the time. We recently bought a Nissan and the experience with their service department has been night and day different. I like Toyotas product but wouldnt buy one new with warranty until there is some serious overhaul in Kelowna Toyota Service Departments operational efficiency and their approach to the customer.
