After years of being ripped off by what I thought were credible automotive shops here in Victoria, Im glad I discovered Starr Automotive. Bonnie and Steve are a breath of fresh air, where I feel valued, listened to and treated fairly whenever Im in. Sure it always hurts to pay for un-planned car repairs, but at Starr, I know I am being treated fairly, honestly and they understand how disruptive it is to be without a vehicle. Looking for a good automotive shop is like looking for a dentist; you appreciate when youve finally found a painless one! 6 Mile isnt that far from anywhere on the lower Island and Bonnie will make you feel welcome as soon as you step through the door. No glitz and glamour here, just a good effective and fair repair shop. Now that I have found them, Im not going anywhere else.

I have dealt with Steve (owner) for over 20yrs now and "yes" he may appear a little "rough" but that is just Steve. He does not mince words but, he is never rude. His wife Bonnie (sometimes in the office) is a fabulous breath of fresh air. After years of dealing with these folks, one thing you can be sure of is, there is "no" upsell, and you "never" pay for something that isnt needed. We have recommended this shop to many friends who are of the same opinion as us once they have been there. As long as my wife n I are driving, we will be going nowhere else. Thanks again ....

Best experience ever. Bonnie is friendly and knowledgable. The team will take the time to keep you informed and educated. Their pricing is very reasonable and quoted beforehand. No upselling or pressure to do extra work. As a woman who knows nothing about cars Im worried about being ripped off but Bonnie and Steve kept gave me tons of info on what needed to be done and what other areas could use work (but didnt need to be done asap). It was the most comfortable and honest experience Ive had at a mechanic. Ill be a customer for life.

Have been dealing with Starr Auto for 16 years. I wouldnt go anywhere else. They are honest and fair and never repair anything that doesnt need it. I have taken my car in to them without an appointment and despite the fact that they are always extremely busy, Steve and Ken will take a look at it and if they can, they will fix it immediately. They have serviced all 6 of my automobiles and despite the fact that I have moved into Oak Bay from Langford, no one else will ever service my car! You guys and Bonnie are awesome!

Went to a chain auto shop and was quoted an astronomical price for what needed to be done. Brought my vehicle in to Starr instead and the same work was done for $800 less! Knowledgeable people here and would recommend this place to anyone! We will surely be bringing our vehicle here from now on for all our car repairs!

They are kind hardworking people that take the time to explain any issues and help you make the right decision. Starr Automotive is detailed oriented, efficient, and incredibly fair. My first experience was when I brought my WRX in to have the steering replaced that I had already been advised to do by 2 other shops in the tune of $2800...a couple of hours later I got a call from them saying my car in ready...an o-ring was missing, cost me $45. Never will go anywhere else after that! :)

Scam artist. Quoted $3000 and a ton of work to be done on my vehicle. Took to dealership and found that almost all repairs recommended were bogus and total bill for inspection, repair and service was $567.00 Would not recommend trusting this serviceman at all
