If you go join into the modo plus and put in $500. Dont expect to get it back anytime soon if you want to cancel. I cancelled my membership after a year. The guy told me that I should expect my refund into my credit. I called two weeks later and the guy said wait another 2 weeks because it usually takes 3-4 weeks. I called again after 4 weeks. The guy now said it takes 3 months. Do not expect to get your deposit back! Edit: I got a reply back from them. Hi Richard, we apologize that youve received inconsistent messages around your refund when you were terminating your account. Our policy is to refund within 90 days (or sooner if we can). I have passed your message on to our office manager and your shares have been now fully refunded. You will see the transaction on your card statement within 7 business days and will receive a message to confirm the transaction. Thank you for reaching out, Kathrin

I want to give these guys a good review because their pricing is fair, but if you have a problem with them dont expect to be accommodated. After updating their app recently my rental wasnt renewed correctly. Upon returning my vehicle I was charged a $25 late fee. After calling them I was told to email, which I did. It then took nearly a week for the manager to respond and say they wouldnt help with the situation. I can understand if there was someone who had reserved the car and was waiting. But, it wasnt a situation like that. I was in the parking lot 10 mins before the time I thought it should be returned (only 5 mins supposedly late) and Sat in the car on a phone call assuming I still had time. Turns out the app hadnt renew for the extra 15 mins I asked for. Its unfortunate because I have until now had a great experience but first time I have a problem they are not there to help.

Now, I do like the fact that I can book a car for the whole day and its so much cheaper than other car services, but the billing is crazy. Going over a number of my invoices and the charges, I find if I book a car for an hour and cant get there in time, or something comes up, I not only get charged the price for the hour, but get charged a $10 fee, for not using it! Ive also had to sit and wait for other people being late and it doesnt come off my bill. I also cancelled a booking for a day and not only was the charge still there, but I then get another charge for not using it, which cost more than the actual booking. I was late one time 3 minutes and was charged a late fee of $25, when the hourly charge was $7.50. I have my annual fee of $39 taken out twice a year.

I can say opposite the previous review that "Theyre pretty amazing on the phone if you ever have a problem." I was returning the car back 15 minutes later and called Modo about it. The guy was not polite, said that the car was already reserved by someone else and hanged up immediately. I drove quickly at the parking lot which is close to Vancouver City Hall and did not see anyone. There were many Modo cars parked, at least 5-6. So, I give 1 star because they are not polite on the phone and do not try to help you. May be they are trying to get additional $25 if you return the car a minute later even there are many cars available at the parking lot.

I was a Modo Plus member, I recently asked to end my membership since I dont need it anymore. You should get your $500 membership you paid for back, right?!! guess what, within their fine prints there is a line which says they MAY hold on to your money for 90 days. It took them exactly 90 days to give my money back. I found it to be a really nasty practicel. Their customer service was horrible as well.

Great service and customer care once you can find their office. Really cool concept and is done fairly well. Just wish that there were more pick up locations that were closer to me or if they did a hybrid system of what they are currently doing and what car2go and evo car do that would make it perfect

Modo is simply the best car sharing service available. Lots of cars, lots of availability, best pricing in town and incredible service. Its also great that this is a local organization and a co-operative. It really doesnt get any better than Modo.

Half the price of Evo and car2go. Not as convenient, but great value and great selection of cars in case you ever fancy driving something different. Most cars ive been in dont have sat nav or Id use them a lot more.
