With a rather charming yet impish smile, Sam said to me, "Id be happy to take your money". To put his words into context, I just hours ago had my snow tires changed from my regulars tires by another local business (name not mentioned) and was then informed by them that all my struts and springs needed replacement. Total estimated cost would be $1,000 for them to do the repair. I immediately went to see Sam at Minit-Tune on West 4th where his staff hoisted up my car to take a look. The result and response was a relief. To continue with Sams response, "... but theres nothing functionally wrong with your cars struts and springs. No replacement is needed for probably another year or so. Sure, the recommended replacement for struts/shocks is 80,000 kms (which my vehicle had travelled 110,000 kms) but you would not feel any difference if I did this repair for you. So, you choose if you want to do the work." I have dealt with Sam, Peter and Allen for many years. It is clear to me that they build their business on honesty, quality work, and customer service. Yes, I believe in getting second opinions like anyone else. Sam and his staff have never let me down, regardless if they were my first, second, third or fourth opinion. Oh and by the way, as for changing to and out of my snow tires, Peter had always offered to do the switch for free when I come in for my regular oil change. Guess I should take them up on it from now on. Keep up the great work, Sam, and thanks for giving me the invaluable peace of mind!

Hey, these guys were great! My car started making a worrying rattling sound as I was on my way to work. I called a few mechanics, but they were all busy, and told me they could only check out my car "tomorrow." But I needed help now, so I was referred to go here. Minit told me they could take a look at it in an hour or two. Great! I left the car with them and walked off to buy a jacket from MEC. They called me before I even arrived, telling me that they put the car up on the jacks, (or lift... whatever its called) and saw that the bolts holding on the exhaust assembly had rusted and fallen off. They used some mechanics wire to reattach it. When I arrived back at Minit, I thanked them for the help and asked them how much I owed. "Dont worry about it," the guy said. "Are you sure? Id like to pay for your time, and the wire, and the use of the equipment. I couldnt have done this by myself, " I said. He insisted that it was no trouble and that I didnt owe anything. Awesome! I was able to drive back to work, late by only about 2 hours total. Im really glad that these guys could look at the car so quickly, and that I didnt have to pay for a cab to go to work and back again the next day. That was 3 months ago and I havent had any more problems with the exhaust assembly. Next time Im in the area, these are the guys I want working on my car.

My 1st time at their Kit site, and 2nd time to use a coupon/package. Did some small visible changes before entering into their workshop in my cars break and horn. removed the wire of horn and placed a small plastic in front rights side of disk break. I did this because my 1st experience with package was not good. I realized that they claim a lot in package but do nothing. They took 1.5 hour and when they handed over the kays I asked; is everything done? they said yes, I then asked did you find anything faulty or unusual or noisy? they said we checked everything and everything is fine. I paid and went outside , when I checked the plastic piece which I placed/stuck with front disk break, it was still there as it is. try to honk horn and it was not working. I get 99% confirmed that they did only oil change and nothing and wasted my 1.5 hour. Thanks that they only charge $10 on top of package price. So please enter on your own risk................!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

we were their customers for 3-4 years until early 2016. we moved to edmonton and i just had my vehicle serviced for transmission fluid complete replacement here in edmonton. I was told by the mechanic here in Edmonton that they had to use 15L to flush out all the dirty fluids and its likely that my car did not have it serviced properly (if at all). I checked my records and apparently in 2014 i paid for the transmission service at the Minit Tune shop on 4th in Vancouver and they did NOT do a thing! it has only been 2 years and about 30-35K -- the transmission fluid was found by my current mechanic (which I saw with my eyes) to be completely dark. i have a corolla and usually transmission fluid replacement is 3.5L or so. but because it was black, they used 15L! so this goes to show that Minit Tune may not have done anything back in 2014 but still charged me for it.

I have been taking my car to these men for several years now, and they always make sure my car is safe and repairs are done ONLY when they are needed. I admire their integrity; the way they always explain in detail what is going on with my car; and exactly how much a job will cost before the work is done. They get my car in quickly, and the job is done quickly. I am chuckling about the anonymous, negative posting previous to mine regarding the brake callipers … he/she must have Minit Tune mixed up with somebody else because this is not at all how they conduct their business. Thanks for the fantastic service MT - no wonder you are repeatedly given the Best of Vancouver award ;)

I have had my oil changed here, and its fine and convenient for where I live. They also do good brake work, but I STRONGLY urge you to get a second opinion if its more than routine work. They quoted me $2200, saying that my brake calipers were rusted right out and needed replacing - I took it to Varsity Automotive (who always does good work) and they said the calipers, although a bit rusty, were fine and worked, and definitely did not need replacing. The brake job cost me a third of what it would have had I gone to Minit-Tune & Brake. GET A SECOND OPINION from a real mechanic if its not just replacing the brake pads.

Not good experience. Phoned them on Sunday and guy told me to come right away I came and he told me that he is busy to come in four hours. I live in Burnaby so I cant drive back and fort. When I asked why he told me to come right away he said he thought that I have emergency. I had a small leak. I told him I have to go on road trip and asked him to help me to check tire and I will pay him. After all that he finally agreed to check tire but only if I stay in the office. After he told me that he checked tire. So I paid and left not happy.

Every time I go to these guys I end up spending less than I thought. Today I took my audi in thinking I would need front and rear brake pads changed. THey explained I might also need the rotors done if it was left too long. They called me an hour later and let me know everything was fine and I went from paying over $500 to paying $0. They easily could have charged me and didnt. On one of my other cars they fixed the upholstery issue after getting my brakes done for no extra charge. Good people here and they will always get my business.
