As the name suggests, our experience hertz! We had appalling customer service, the worst we have ever experienced when hiring internationally and within Australia! We arrived late due to having to catch a ferry and bus from the island and the lady at reception was anything but understanding/helpful! Rudely she told us to come back in an hour or so and for 2 people who had been up for hours to get there, we werent impressed! We were picking up a 2 week rental and were keen to get moving as quick as possible! Whilst waiting it seems this person also speaks rudely to her staff too!! We eventually got our car but before leaving we were told that to avoid paying on our credit card wed provided (and for us to avoid international transaction fees) on return our only option was cash and not our travel card... The only positive was on return dealing with a much friendlier lady, who let us pay with our travel card! Never ever renting with Hertz anywhere in the world! Ever again!

Im a big fan of Hertz and theyre typically my first choice when renting, but Ive definitely noticed a dramatic difference depending on location. The location at Pacific Central is great. This location however isnt. The customer service that Ive been served by on the phone and in person are pretty rude and short, and they also have typically the highest rental rates for DT Vancouver. I have platinum status through Hertz Gold Plus scheme, and I typically rent a car 10-20 times a year. This doesnt mean anything to the Granville St location, as they are unwilling to price match to the Enterprise location next door (both the Pacific Central and Canada Place locations price match). Save your money and get better service elsewhere - I recommend the Enterprise location next door.

We arrived,after quite a drive ,to return the car to Hertz,.Ist July 2015 . Bruno helped us with a question on paying the toll on the Port Mann bridge . Victor then checked the car over and we were ready to go . At this point Jas ,seeing we were exhausted and knowing how difficult it was going to be to get a cab on busy Canada day ,suggested Victor help us by giving us a lift to our hotel. To say we were astounded puts it mildly ,from what we hear about rubbish car rental set ups we were not expecting this .They could not have been kinder,more patient, friendlier or more helpful and I will not hesitate to use them again or recommend them .Thank you all ,your extra bit of customer care was very much appreciated,you are all a credit to the company .

I used this office two times. One times they gave me rental car at 9am even I made reservation at 8am a week ago. Staff seemed never sorry about that. She just said that we dont provide rental service at 8am. Are you kidding me? Why this office open at 8 am earlier than others and why they get reservation for 8am ? Last time was worse than that day. I made reservation 3days ago and went to pick up my car however Hertz said we dont have any cars. It was such a bad joke. She just said that "I dont know we dont have a car whatever you reserved". She looked insane besides, she said you should find other rental shop.. Haha thx to Hertz, my plan was spoiled. It was most terrible service Iv ever seen.

We had a really great experience with this company and their staff. Since it was our very first time renting a car, we were a bit anxious (due to some negative experiences of other customers), but that turned out to be completely unnecessary. From the moment we walked in we were treated very kindly, service was quick and friendly. This goes for both the very kind woman who helped us at the counter, as well as the staff downstairs who explained all we had to know about "our" awesome car. If we are in the opportunity to visit Vancouver again, we will definitely return to Hertz on Granville Street. Thank you for contributing to our amazing holiday!

I had a fantastic experience from the moment I walked in the store to when I returned the car. Their team was extremely friendly and genuine. I was a little late (45 minutes) as I didnt expect as much traffic and they waived the late charge fee for me! The car itself was fantastic considering I got the cheapest they had comic fully equipped with touch screens and heated seats. Being only 20, it was really hard to find a company willing to rent to me as the minimum age is 21, but hertz was willing to only charging me a small $25 differential fee. Overall extremely impressed and will exclusively rent with hertz based off my experience!

I have rent a car and supposed to collect at 3pm,. But due to the flight delayed so I tried to call Hertz at 5:45pm that I am almost arrived because they closed at 6pm. But they didnt pick up the phone. And I called again, it straight to the voice message box! Means they dont want to pickup the call and off early. And when I arrived at around 5:55 I saw a staff walked out from the back door, so I told him I booked a car today. He said sorry we closed and be early next time, and suggested me to go Hertz at the Airport and see if can get one. Really lazy staff and unhelpful. NEVER rent from thief again!

Totally lied to me when I booked and again when I picked up the car. Before I booked I called and asked if there was a spousal charge, was told no, so I booked. When I picked up the car they charged me an extra $150! After much complaining I finally got someone from reservations on the phone who said there was nothing that can be done now but the error would be corrected after the car was returned. Fool me twice, they refused to do that. Two calls to their help desk, two lies, cost me an extra $150. I dont have an issue with the policy, but I do with the lies and the bait & switch tactics.

Golden Rules of Wine and Travel
Once you actually find the Hertz (follow the signs very closely and take the elevator), this is the best Hertz that I have ever been to. The customer service is amazing, particularly if you compare it to traditional Hertz locations. They are quick and prepared. When I picked up, a very lovely and efficient woman gave me my car. When I dropped off, a sweet man went out of his way to get me a "trolley" for my luggage and talked to me about where I was heading off to (Hong Kong) and tattoos. Really fantastic. I wish all Hertz locations were like this one.

My experience is calling the downtown vancouver location (granville). I called for a quote on a rental and was put on hold. I called back after being on hold for 7 min. When the same associate who put me on hold answered, I asked why I was on hold for so long, the associate I was speaking with informed me that they were on their lunch break. I asked why did he put me on hold and go for lunch? And his response was "What do you want? At that point I hung up and rented from a different company.

Very unsual experience. We booked online with Expedia and had a set price $815. When we have booked in the recent weeks through Expedia.co.nz/hertz the insurance was always included in the price. When we went to pick up our car the lady at the desk quoted us a different price (much more expensive) and said insurance wasnt included. So we were looking at well over $1500. We cancelled on the spot and have found a much more affordable price including insurance. Very disappointed.
