I have been looking for a specific type of vehicle for over 6 months. I was pleasantly surprised to learn that Applewood KIA had it on their lot. I want to make it clear that I was not interested in a KIA, and after this experience I will not be interested in this dealer, or KIA as a brand in the future. Heres why: The salesman was friendly and greeted us, took us on a test drive in the vehicle and said that we would be taken care of, as the ads say "Its all good at Applewood". That part was fine. For the next 20 mins we went over the price of the vehicle and monthly payments and he was attentive and looked after us. As soon as it got to financing, I realized the type of "sales tactics" theyre pulling. The finance guy sat us down, took our information and explained that we qualify for financing from a few banks. He needed some time to get numbers back. We sat and waited for over 3 hours, before heading out to lunch as he set the expectation that it shouldnt take too long to get an approval. Then we heard back two days later stating that we could be financed for a fully loaded KIA SUV (which we explained explicitly that we were not interested in). The finance guy went back to the banks trying to get an approval (which we thought was easy, but he stated it was taking longer because of the long weekend, theyre backed up etc etc.) The thing is... this guy knew that they were backed up and made us sit and wait in the office while he worked a deal out on the KIA SUV. After receiving news from the bank that we were approved, there was an outrageous rate of interest from a single bank, again, for a KIA SUV but no word on the vehicle that we wanted. I went to the dealership to speak with the finance guy about what we wanted and see what he was doing and he was at the other location and "couldnt get back to us". I tried to speak with the sales manager but was intercepted by a very young salesman who passed messages between myself and the sales manager as the sales manager didnt want to come greet me, or speak to me about the service I was receiving. That was enough for me, and I went to another dealership, purchased the vehicle that I wanted to purchase, with half the interest rate offered by the SAME BANK KIA got an approval for and I got bonus gifts and exceptional service from all involved. Turns out the finance guy from the new dealership used to work for KIA and after saying only the location and that we had a bad experience he said "I used to work there, let me guess... they tried to hard sell you a KIA". He nailed it, and after not hearing back from Applewood KIA Surrey, or hearing back from the finance guy (who still hasnt called us back since MAY LONG). Avoid this place, unless you want a KIA with a rate of interest tacked up astronomically so that this shady dealership can make a profit off of your hard earned money.

This has got to be the worst experience ive ever had at any dealer ever. Would highly not recommend. Bought a used 2015 kia optima the sales person was completely untrained every question i had asked her would either be a half as answer or a totally random quess. A big reason we decided to purchase the car was because the sales person had told us that there was an extra key fob and it was just at the other dealership still because this car had just been transfered. The next day i called in about it and she told me that there wasnt one after all. How can you confidently tell us there is a extra key which is a big reason we bought it in the first place and then tell us there isnt worst of all every single person there will tell you "oh let us call you back" AND THEY NEVER WILL. That day i called into the dealer about 8 times and never did i get 1 single solid answer or 1 call back. Weve bought 4 cars this year some new some used and all from different dealers. This has got to be the worst experience ever to the point im debating if i should just take a lost and sell the damn car and buy from a different company because at least they will give us good experience. Now if i want an extra key i have to pay like $300? like theyre the ones who told me theres an extra key and there isnt. Cant that be false advertisement? like is a $300 dollar key that difficult to cover for a buying customer plus it was your mistake that now i have to pay for it? OH AND THE NEXT DAY i walk out to my car and the damn lisence place is dangling from 1 bolt because who ever put it on didnt know how to use a damn screw driver and a bolt? i call them about it too and they just tell me to drive back and they will put one in. i dont have time to drive 20 minutes to your dealer thats only 1 way and back for a damn bolt that you easily could have prevented from falling out if you put it in correctly. Step up your game kia you werent that popular to begin with... please dont give me the number to your dealership if youre gonna give me someone to call i would like a number to your district manager or higher. im done dealing with people who will just say ill call you back and never do

Let me start by saying weve owned a couple of Kias before, so were obviously fans of the product. Our first Kia was purchased at another dealership and while it was an OK experience, the exceptional design and value of the product sold us. When we were ready for our second Kia, we dealt with Brad at the Applewood Langley store. He took care of us like a professional. I personally hate it when salespeople try to convince you that youre wrong about your personal preferences. So what if I like more USB ports in the back of the vehicle? Brad answered all our questions and lived up to all the promises. When it was time for our third Kia and another one for our business, we didnt hesitate. Brad even introduced us to the General Manager Peter who was very professional. The whole process was appreciated. We are in the service business and we know how hard it can be to manage through peak periods. I suggest anyone looking to buy a car always approach things with some patience. Its not like buying fast food. The process took us some time but we were not disappointed at all. We ended up buying some vehicles with Apple CarPlay and I cant stop raving about that feature. Simple and easy to use voice command features. Finally!! The only item would improve is their lot size. Not enough room to hold all their selection, but they were very helpful to bring over the product we were looking for quickly. I should also point out that their service team is great. Promises kept, issues dealt with, and always a professional smile and courteous communications. We recommend you drop in and see them.
