Wow. I have been searching for a mechanic that I can trust for a long time, and I have certainly found it in Adam at Alternative Auto. I found Alternative Auto from a person I bought a used car from. He told me that Adam was the only person who he let work on his cars, and that he was honest and reasonable. I figured I would give him a shot, especially after the poor experience I had at the last place I went. After the maintenance that was done on my Volvo, I was so impressed with the work he did, I had him look over my Jeep that was "feeling weird" after a previous mechanic did a bunch of suspension work. Adam helped identify where new parts had already failed, took video of broken pieces and even wrote a letter to the other mechanic of what he found. Due to his help, I was able to get my money back from the other shop. It is very hard to find a good shop that not only communicates well with you, but is also honest on what actually needs to be done. Alternative Auto is that shop.

I ordered a starter for my car and was trying to find a shop who would install it when I came across these guys. I phoned half a dozen or more shops who said they wouldnt do it for me. Initially alt auto repair told me I might have to wait a few days but after telling them my issue the guy I talked to said to bring it in a couple of hours. I was in and out in seriously about 15-20 minutes. I didnt even realize they started working on my car when the mechanic came in to notify me it was ready to go. The people who work there seem nice. I had a couple good conversations and was on my way. They also charged me appropriately. I was expecting an hour wait with over a $100 bill. I was out of there in 15-20 mins and they charged me a whopping $40. Ill for sure be coming back here the next time I need something done.

We switched to Adam for our personal and work vehicles a few months ago and are glad we did. My work vehicles are aging so they have needed a fair amount of service. Adam recognizes that we need these vehicles on the road and not in the shop and has provided very prompt service at competitive rates. He hasnt tried to sell us on jobs we havent needed and has sold us what we do need. He has solved problems that our former (older and more experienced) mechanic was unable to. I have also noticed a view vintage cars in his shop so I know that people are trusting him with their babies. I am glad Adam is young because he can be our mechanic as long as he wants

After diagnosing and fixing the haphazard repairs done by another shop I thought Adam and his team won my business, but its the continued service in returning for other things that really sets them apart. I can deal with moderate pricing for things but these guys make fixing your ridea affordable as well as do a fantastic job. Adam is a great guy, honest and does excellent work at a reasonable price. I have 100% confidence in leaving my vehicle with him and saying fix what needs to be fixed. Ive previously brought my 1999 4Runner to him and now my 2003 4Runner. Both cars only go through his shop, both vehicles are high mileage and he keeps them running as new. Alternative Auto Pro is the best! We met Adam due to our car breaking down in the middle of the highway on the way to Big White for Christmas at 4:15pm on a Friday afternoon with 4 kids in the car. Adam discussed our car problem over the phone and proactively ordered an alternator in advance. Adam fixed the car and we safely made it to Big White via Coquihalla - thank you Adam for saving Christmas!
