I bought an SUV from landmark auto. I had driven it a total of 3 hours and the service engine soon light came on. I called told them I was on my way to a wedding on the mainland and I wasnt happy that I had to deal with this after only a few hours of driving. I told them I was nervous about driving it. The person I was speaking with was the owners son Cody. He said to drive it and not worry, his girlfriend has been driving with her light on for nearly a year. First of all I am a paying customer not your girlfriend and second why the hell havent you stressed to your girlfriend the importance of getting the car fixed. He said to bring it in when I got back and they would look at it but I still had to pay the discounted labour of 70 bucks an hour. I had driven the 5000 dollar vehicle for 3 hours max and this was his reply. I took it to a mechanic I trusted after that. He ran scans and told me that the light had been on prior to my purchase and they had reset it without fixing the problem. A gas leak that cost me 500 bucks to fix. I spent another 400 dollars replacing belts they neglected to change before selling the vehicle. Alternator belt was badly cracked. Timing belt needed replacing another 1000 dollars. The vehicle makes a rattling noise above 50 km an hour. Its funny that when I test drove it I was only allowed to go a few blocks in heavy traffic. This establishment will not let you test drive without them being present in the vehicle with you or allow you to take it to the highway,. I find this strange considering that every other place I test drove cars I was allowed to take the vehice without a babysitter the only requirement being that I take no longer than 20 min and they photographed my license. I believe it was because they worried about me hearing the noise and or that the service light would come back on if I drove it too long. I understand that its buyer beware when purchase a vehicle second hand but is a place of business that intentionally turned off the engine light and assured me in writing that all belts had been changed, oil, brakes, engine, etc was in good working condition. They even gave me forms stating this was true. I bought from a dealership because I thought this sort of thing would be way less likely to happen. I was wrong. I will NEVER purchase anything from this business again. On top of all that the sales person I dealt with was quite rude and seemed annoyed when I was asking him questions about the car. My advice is save yourself the hassle of buying a car from these guys. You will probably just be throwing away your money. Go to a place more reputable like Howies car corral.

I wasnt impressed with the place or the salesman. When I got there to look at a Kia Sedona minivan there were three different prices posted on the windshield and none of them matched what I had seen online. When I mentioned that to the salesman inside (Eugene) he had to look it up on the Web and only then did he acknowledged the price. After he briefly told me about the cars condition I asked if I could drive it. Its during the drive that I asked him about financing and thats when things got bad. He suddenly got upset that I hadnt mentioned that before and accused me of wasting his time saying I should have mentioned the financing sooner and that he had to close the store in order for us to take a test drive. Is it me or isnt it the salespersons job to mention those things to the customer. If this dealer doesnt like to finance sales or requires a large down payment to finance shouldnt that be mentioned early on. Eugene shouldnt be in car sales or any customer service related position. In the end Im glad we didnt buy from Landmark motors, we found a minivan on Craigslist in incredible condition and at a lower price.

My wife and I purchased a car from Cody a month ago. By the time my wife came home the gas gauge reader bottomed out and was no longer working. My wife called Cody the very next day and left a message for him, informing him of our issue. We waited 2 weeks for a response and no return to her call. So I called and spoke to Cody myself. He said he would speak to his mechanic and phone me right back. Another week passed and no phone call from Cody. I called him again today (roughly 3 weeks since we purchased the vehicle) and he informed me that he hasnt got an answer from his mechanic, since his mechanic is not on site and is only called in when needed. Our gas gauge doesnt work on the car we just purchased...Cody could you tell me what would constitute you calling in your mechanic? When I asked him this question his response was, "Its not like your car will crash into a ditch if you run out of gas". Perhaps not Cody, but I may get rear ended on the hiway.

I came to Landmark from a posting of one of their cars on Used Victoria which their website routes their listings to. From the moment I walked on the lot, this was the stereotypically used car salesman routine. The man introduced himself as the owner for 10 years and now only works part time which is why he didnt know the car I was looking for. When I described he said it was sold even though were standing next to it but with a price tag for more than double the advertised cost. He said it was a different car. While he turned it on to look at the odometer I pulled up the ad on my phone and called him out that it was the exact same car. He then made a phonecall and said it was a mistake and didnt mean to be misleading but he just spoke to the owner and they cant sell at the UsedVic price. I then said "You said you were the owner", to which he responded "No, Im the manager". Very shady business and would not trust a word they say or a vehicle they sell

I want to warn people about this place. I realized this is a used car lot, but where is integrity. I thought they came across as very honest...hahaha was I wrong. Just another carlot looking to make as fast dollar on the poor who cant afford new. I got screwed, big time. Oh this is a great vehicle, very reliable. I drove this reliable vehicle for 30 days, before my nightmare began. 4500 I spent on this pos. Guaranteed by thier "mechanic",who passed it on safety. When I went back for help, low and behold the "mechanic" couldnt help me because he didnt know enough on this type of vehicle. Then how the hell do you pass it for SAFETY!!! I had my kids in this car!! It wasnt safe...I lost the vehicle,my money. called 1-800 junk. So buyer beware from this place, even though she has a nice smile, she still is a wolf looking for her next meal.

I went by the Victoria BC, Bay Street Landmark Auto Sales branch location regarding a car ad on Used Everywhere. The place was dead. There must be some reasons why the store seemed to lack customers. The cars all had price reduction signs on them like they were desperate to lure in some potential buyers. There were no staff sales or otherwise in sight. They must be very slack in their interest in customers? Slack and lazy does not impress potential customers. I dont care. I am gone to the next one if there is no greeter of any kind. Also, every other dealer also has the full range of internet based communications. Get with the modern times. dont give a F what someone is away on or not.I am gone to the next one if there is no greeter.
