Atlas Auto Wrecking was my first stop on Mitchell Island to look for a transmission. I had called ahead before making the trip and was assured by a man named Dave that he had the transmission I needed. I arrived there well before closing and was pleasantly surprised when Dave took me to some storage racks and showed me he did in fact have the transmission I needed. However he then promptly informed me that his yard person was not there and that he would not be able to get the transmission down for me until the next day. He then wanted me to pay the entire cost of the transmission up front which I refused to do. He then asked for a deposit, which I was willing to make. But in the middle of setting up the deposit he made a comment that if I wasnt going to pay the whole amount for the transmission he still couldnt guarantee that the transmission wouldnt get sold to someone else before I came back for it. That was all I needed to hear before I walked out on the deal and out of Atlas Auto Wrecking for good. After the experience I had at Atlas Auto Wrecking my advice would be to shop elsewhere if you want good service and ethical business practices.

Garages that provide good service deserve kudos when theyre due, and this place gave me an EXCELLENT experience. I had originally contacted Dave about replacing the engine on my 2000 Acura EL. He told me to bring the car down so he could take a look at it to see if it was even worth me paying the $950 (point #1), and he explained what would be involved to do it. However, after a quick assessment of my massive oil leak, he was able to nail the problem down to me just needing to replace a part. Not only did he have the part in stock, he installed it on the spot and it only cost me $95!! (huge point #2) Its nice to find an honest, integral business owner who cares about his customers, ESPECIALLY in the auto service industry, and I definitely plan to come back to Atlas in the future.

Cant say enough about the service I got here. Electrical fault in the signal lights had several mechanics stumped. Took it here on a hunch I knew what part was needed, I was wrong. Dave did 5 minutes of testing installed a part and it worked, wouldnt take any money because he said the part was so cheap. He even topped up my windshield washer fluid. Amazing level of service.

Atlas Auto Wrecking was a lifesaver. Victim of overnight senseless misdemeanor window smash, called Atlas next morning, had the replacement part, installed for us instantaneously within hours of contacting them. A Great job done.

Good experience over the phone. They were clearly busy (phones ringing off the hook in the background), but checked to see if they had my part over the phone (which many scrap yards dont do).
