I found this place via Google, and went here because of the good reviews, so I decided to pay it forward and write a detailed review to help others in the future as well, because of the good experience I had here. Nicest mechanics Id ever had a pleasure to meet. Though I didnt work with this legendary Craig fellow everyones raving about, I did work with Jason, who is the owner/operator of Poco Automotive. I phoned him for a quote, and he said to come on down to get the vehicle checked out. Told me up front there was an inspection fee , but itll be waived if I decided to go through with the repair. I dropped off my car, and 45 minutes later they had the results. My front 2 brake pads were worn to the metal part, and my rear brake pads still had 5 mm left, so Jason recommended me to get new front brake pads and rotors. I was able to go up to my car with Jason and check that indeed, one of my pads had like 1 mm left, and the other one didnt have anything at all. The rear ones were indeed much thicker as well, and Jason told me they would last another year. I asked why I had to replace the rotors as well. Jason patiently explained that the minimum thickness for him to do a resurfacing on the rotors was 0.490 mm, and my rotor measured at 0.489 mm. Googling told me that having very thin rotors can make them warp much easier, which will put in premature wear on my new brake pads. I decided to go with getting new rotors as well, seeing that I did have a time where I had metal to metal grinding on the rotors, as well as I didnt know when the last time the previous owners of my vehicle had the rotors changed. Jason gave me options on both the brake pads and rotors, which were all Napa branded. Googling that as well gave some good reviews on the Napa Premium Rotors and Napa Adaptive One brake pads, and they were fairly priced too (also based off of Google), so I went with those two options. The pricing of the labour didnt seem too bad either... though I cant say that Ive had experience with dealing with mechanics and their pricings. They even gave me the quoted price before they started working, so that way they cant suddenly add more charges in. (Im writing this in good faith; I havent had a chance to go pay yet, but Ill definitely edit my review if anything goes south). They managed to do the repair in maybe 2 hours? But they were kind enough to let me leave the car there until I finished work, which is conveniently just 2 minutes away. Ive dealt with many many people before as a door to door salesman, and I do believe I have a good judge on character. From my dealings with Jason, he was a very honest person, not the type at all to scheme and trick and pull hidden fees from no where. Ill be coming back here indefinitely, or at least until Jason and Brandon leaves (Brandon also seemed like a good fella, from the short time that Ive dealt with him).

So i first met Craig in November 2013. I was looking for someone to inspect a 2003 BMW 320i that i was looking at buying. So did my Google search for BMW shops, read all the great reviews on Craig - and decided to give him a chance. Test drive day: I was out on the road with the car doing my test drive and since Craig was only a few minutes away from the dealer, I stopped by - unannounced. To my surprise Craig spent about 45 minutes with me going over the car to see if it was "worth it" to spend money on a proper inspection! Explaining in detail as he went along, making sure i understood what he was doing, and looking for. His knowledge of BMW was amazing. So after about 45 minutes he assured me it was a good car, and warranted doing a proper inspection. So needless to say, i booked an appointment with him on the spot. Inspection: The inspection report i got back was clear and detailed. I was able to bring it to the dealership, and have them repair the issues he listed. I felt confident in making the purchase after talking with Craig. Since the purchase, i have stopped by a few times with "questions". Craig was always willing to take some time and address my concerns - and only if necessary, suggest servicing. So just recently (JAN 2014), i used a Groupon Gift to get an oil change at an Autohaus. After the oil change i was presented with a list of "required repairs" for my car. Well, since i had only driven about 5K since my purchase and Craigs inspection - i was surprised at the $1500 of work needed to be done "ASAP". So i made an appointment with Craig a few days later. After I presented him with the list of repairs, we went over the car, and found that none of the repairs listed were needed. No surprise. So to sum it all up, Craig at PoCo Auto in Port Coquitlam, has earned my trust, respect and admiration for his work, honesty and professionalism - not to mention the good tunes playing in the shop! I have no problem referring friends, family and strangers to him. -- THANKS CRAIG!! :-)

Excellent quality of service and care first hand confirmed. After searching around for a BMW mechanic online for my first Bimmer I found a couple of places on Google with good reviews. Contacting every one of them first hand Poco Auto and CG Motor in Richmond was the two I decided to check out. Since the timing didnt work out for Poco I went to CG for the initial PPI and though they had excellent service they were a bit more expensive. Fancier shop, more upkeep. I was able to save more than $100 by driving out to Poco instead of going to CG, including the $10 of gas to drive out there. The other day I took my 335i in for the Service Engine Soon light and I had many questions for Craig. He answered them all and even some questions that could have been "stupid" to ask, answered them as-matter-of-fact like. He also let me take a look under my car as Im trying to do as much DIYs as I can and he answered all the questions I had for things that I might work myself. I took a total of an hour and a half of his time with all my questions and what not and said he would charge me only 30-45 mins for his time. Mind you he didnt do anything on the car but I still took up his time that he could have spent working on other cars. Ive never met a more friendly and welcoming man than Craig and Ill be going to him for all my BMW maintenance and repairs regardless of the 30-40 min drive because even with the time and gas it takes to drive out there, I know Ill still be saving money and have excellent service with it.

Excellent doesnt actually do Poco automotive justice. Ive been in the auto industry nearly my whole life. I have never found someone so honest, trustworthy, and great at his job as Craig Cantin. My BMW has been to Brian Jessel as well as Langley BMW. Neither place was able to tell me what was wrong with my car. Poco auto? Not a problem! Craig found the issues and fixed them without me getting my car back and still having issues! I may not have got that shiny bottle of water that the big guys give you, and the huge bill that comes with it! But Poco Automotive gave me what the big guys couldnt, My car completely repaired! !! Fantastic!
