where do I start. ..I was looking for a repair shop for my Xterra and I would drive by their shop on my way home from work. I called during drive and was surprised how rude the guy on the phone was (Ryan). I decided on call back to see if I can get another person on line. Again it was Ryan but this time he was nice. (??) so I take my xterra in for a wheel bearing replacement which they had to do 3 times. i would pick it up and it sounded worse. Ryan explained that all 3 bearings were "not right". through several conversations I realized that Ryan isnt technical - he is the glorified receptionist. I received better info talking directly to one of the mechanics. This experience was a 3 out of 10. I wasnt happy that I had to go there 3 times to pick up my car. Several weeks later my wife decides to take our X3 there for repairs. I found out after she made the appointment that it was with DeRosa and wasnt too happy. anyways I called and unfortunately got Ryan (who was again rude) and told him what was needed. 1) identify oil leak 2) rear spring needs replacing 3) brakes inspection and possible fix. I can write forever but here is how it went with Ryan. 1) they couldnt find out where the oil leak was coming from. Really?? this didnt get fixed. Told me to go to dealer. 2) he told me the rear spring is fine. I said there is no way it is fine as its visibly lower on that one side and the ride is rough. he persisted to tell me they couldnt find anything. told him to ask another mechanic to look at. Low and behold he calls back to tell me the spring is broken and cracked!! 3) the brakes needed replacing which I was ok with but simply asked what percentage is left on the brake pads. Ryans response was "we dont deal with percentages" SoI tell them to go ahead with repairs. Ryan says they need to figure out if my X3 is an M series because they have different parts. I said YES its and M series and even told him to look at all the M badges on the car (steering wheel, wheels, sill plate etc). He didnt take my word or believe the badging. He said he wanted to run my VIN through BMW dealer to ensure it really was an M series. (wtf???) $3000 later I walked out of there vowing never to deal with DeRosa. but truthfully I vow never to deal with the RUDE receptionist Ryan. if he were no longer there I may come back as a customer. I still drive by almost every day and laugh at what customers must deal with when they call in

I had Derosa replace a transmission in my Acura TL sedan. Although the work was partly done offsite, Derosa communicated well and kept me in the loop on the current status and next steps and multiple times during the process. They also provided me with complimentary use of their loaner vehicle. Immediately following that transmission replacement, I started having a problem with the car battery draining on its own even with the key out. I agreed with them that I would pay for any needed parts but they should provide the labour free of charge for this new problem. After much diagnostic work, including Ryan providing some help on his own time, they traced the problem to the Acura Handsfree Link Bluetooth phone control unit above the rear view mirror. While this problem was clearly coincidental and could not have had anything to do with the original transmission replacement, Derosa still honoured their side of the agreement and provided the diagnostic and installation labour free of charge. In fact, when the replacement HFL unit we had obtained from a wrecker turned out to also have the same problem as the original one we took out, and I bought a new HFL unit, they even installed the second one for me. Derosa impressed me by going beyond the call and helping beyond their actual responsibility to help, in order to honour their word and make sure I was not left with any problems. I only wish they were also available on weekends - but it is notable that the reason they arent is because their small ownership team always wants to always be there during their business hours to make personally sure that their high standard of service is provided, and they need their own days off too. I definitely recommend Derosa for mechanical and electrical vehicle repairs. Their kind of integrity is not necessarily the norm!

Dont trust this place! I worked at DeRosa as a lot attendant for less than 3 days before I had to quit. Ryan Elm (service manager), Iain McCann(service adviser) was very disrespectful and rude to me. I received little training as the staff (mainly Ryan and Iain) were too lazy to give me the required training. Unless they consider their training procedure to be an hour long tour of the facility which I had never seen before. They tried to get me to test drive a car on the highway (from Marine Drive to Lions Bay) to see if it was fixed properly. Also, the shuttle van, which I was told was meant to pick-up and drop-off customers, was used instead for me to drive employees home after their shift. The shuttle van had broken signal lights and the seat belt was not working. I would never bring my car there to get serviced and would recommend people to look else where for work. Keep in mind that the majority of the 4 and 5 star reviews on here are from people that have only 1 or 2 google reviews. It is Likely that these reviews are friends of management. Also, I wouldnt be surprised if Ryan is reviewing his own business with 5 star ratings. It happens more than you would imagine. When I called them to tell them I wasnt coming to work there any more Iain said "you screwed us over." How can the guy that washes the cars screw over an automotive service company...? They judge customers and talk behind their backs to make sure they squeeze out as much money as possible. If you are naive they will charge you more than necessary. Ryan also repeats customers credit card numbers out loud while on the phone. Not the best idea as the public waiting area is directly across from his desk. DO NOT TRUST THIS PLACE! I have nothing good to say about this place except i got paid for my hours.

I recently took my Land Rover down to DeRosa Automotive for an emergency issue. Even though they were fully packed busy all day and couldn’t take on another vehicle, they fit me immediately in to diagnose the issue. I was completely stressed out as I had meetings lined up all day, in different areas of Vancouver. Without hesitation they handed me the keys to one of their loaner vehicles and I was on my way, I cannot say how much that saved my whole day. Upon review of my vehicles repair, DeRosa came to the conclusion that since my vehicle is very specific with certain software that needs to be used; they took the innovative to sublet my vehicle to a Land Rover specialist. All of the work was done in a very timely manner and Ryan at DeRosa explained all of the repairs in non-mechanical terms so that I could understand exactly what was wrong, what had to be done to fix my vehicle and how the price of the fix was determined. If anyone is looking for an honest, reliable and extremely trustworthy automotive shop in North Vancouver, look no further DeRosa Automotive is the place. I would not hesitate to refer any of my friends, family & clients to them. Sincerely, Spencer Holt North Vancouver Resident
