Ive been using various KalTire locations for tire-related work for nearly a decade; every time I was thrilled with the work done and the service received. This location, however, has completely failed me twice in a row. The first time they assured me they could do an alignment on my lifted truck, even after I listed off every single aftermarket suspension component ("our red seal master tech can handle it no problem, weve done it before"). They tried to align it three times and still couldnt get it to drive right (without tires rubbing). I ended up having to pay for a second alignment at Dales Alignment to get it done right (without any problems, I might add). Last week I called to order a single tire and had an appointment made to today. Showed up, turns out my appointment was logged into their system for an hour earlier than the time I was given. During the call they promised to match Costcos price for the tire, but in store I was told that only happens when you buy FOUR tires. Then they charged me an extra $25 "freight fee" that was never mentioned in any capacity. Why is them getting a tire to THEIR shop suddenly MY cost? In decades of buying tires for all sorts of vehicles this is the first time Ive heard of a "freight fee." Had I known about this ahead of time I never would have bought from them. Only paid today because Im pressed for time and dont have a choice. Huge disappointment all around. Will never step foot in the place again.

Kal Tire used to be my go to for fleet service management so naturally I went there expecting similar care and attention for my personal vehicle. I was sadly mistaken. Went in for full service and inspection, my air filter housing wasnt closed (one screw left unfastened and housing 1/4" ajar) causing the air filter to clog on a trip to Kelowna and needed to be replaced on arrival, failed to top up the oil after the change (below E on the dip stick), was told my brakes were nearing the end of their life and should be changed in the next 3 mths (NAPA later confirmed otherwise), my front passenger suspension was damaged and both front should be replaced (confirmed false) and that my tires needed replacement in the next 6 (also confirmed otherwise). The only thing that they seemed to get right was that I should change my wiper blades... Business taken else where and will continue to recommend against for personal vehicle service. EDIT: I havent been to Kal Tire since July of 2016. It should also be noted that the initial response I received to my review from a Kal Tire rep stated they would call me back to discuss my post and concerns and no additional effort was made before posting their reply.

We were in Bellingham today and our car tire/wheel started thumping badly. By the time we got to New West our whole car was vibrating. We went to Kal Tire as it was one of the few places open due to the stat. They thought the left front wheel bearing was shot as the wheel rocked side to side. Amazingly, they were going to stay late to do our bearing as we were heading out of town on vacation tomorrow. The front desk Manager ordered the part on a rush and said they could do it by the end of the day. When they went to take the wheel off to put the new bearing on Stephen (the AWESOME Technician) figured the lug nuts werent tight and that the wheel was lose. He put the wheel back on, tightened the lug nuts, took it for a quick spin and sure enough it was a loose wheel and not a wheel bearing. The thumping was gone, the grinding noise was gone. I went to pick it up and it was NO CHARGE. UNBELIEVABLE. I will be buying my next set of tires there and doing business with them anytime I need car work. Theye awesome. I just cant thank them enough for such great service.

Some dishonesty. My car underwent a front wheel alignment. It improved the driving significantly. However, the steering wheel became slight offset to the left and the car kept pulling slightly to the right. I returned within the warranty period. They happily rechecked the alignment and the steering wheel. The representative told me they didnt find the car was pulling to the right or that the steering wheel was offset. I was sure it was for I tested it in many different situations and for several kms. My girlfriend confirmed the offset steering wheel. They nonetheless made some slight adjustments. I picked up the car: the steering wheel remains offset and the car keeps pulling to the right. I dont expect exactness, specially because this car has had a front loss. However, I expect honesty when paying premium.

Went in person and made an appointment, when I showed up they couldnt find my appointment. Managed to fit me in. I needed a wheel alignment, but knew I needed some front end work before they could do alignment. They said I needed front shocks and a lower control arm, I as quoted $1300 to complete the work. When I saw what they were charging for the parts of the shocks (I knew I didnt need: not leaking, no bouncing over bumps etc) I decided to get a second opinion. I took it Big O Tire and they said I didnt need shocks and that Both Lower control arms were bad and sway bar links. They did the work plus alignment for $900. That was my first and last experience with Kal Tire. Over charging for parts and not being able to do a decent inspection are my main reasons.

I have been going to this location since I moved to the lower mainland. Even though I have since moved from New Westminster to Maple Ridge I still make a point of coming to this location for the wonderful service I always receive. The employees at this establishment are always kind and helpful. The main reason I decided to write this review is because the most recent time I brought my vehicle here there was a bit of misunderstanding and the employees did everything they could to ensure I left happy. I will continue to come to this Kal-Tire of the prompt service and wonderful employees in this establishment.

Amazing, friendly, polite and very helpful people!! I went there originally thinking I had a leak in my tire. The guy checked and inflated all 4 tires and it turned out the pressure is just low and he explained why and no charge so thought that was very kind of them. So I decided to book an oil change as it was due anyways and I asked if they could do a tire rotation as well. My tires were torqued at no charge!! I definitely and strongly recommend this location! They went the extra mile of which is hard to come by this days. Thank you sooo much!! Greatly appreciated.

It was late in the day and my battery went dead. Got a jump from somebody and managed to drive to Kal Tire in New West. I drive a 1997 Alfa Romeo GTV 3.0 which is very rare in Canada (maybe only 3 or 4) and it is not in the list of cars in Canada. Kal Tire staff took the time to check the battery, do the research and find the right battery for my car, installed it and I was on my way. All of this was happening around closing time but they made sure that I was taken care of. Super friendly and helpful staff and mechanics. I would highly recommend them.
