TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE!!! I recently purchased a 2014 Chevy Cruz from Laird Wheaton in Nanaimo. One of the features in my car was Bluetooth and streaming my iPhone 6 so I could listen to my music while driving. This was one of the features that I was most excited for. Immediately after purchasing my car, the Bluetooth streaming was cutting out. I would be streaming music from my iPhone 6 and it would randomly pause for up to 30 seconds. Or, if it was playing my music it would display the wrong song, and would always be 1 song behind. When I took my car into the service department the first time, I waited in the waiting room for 3-4 hours, as they did not offer me a rental car. Once they were finished looking at my car, they told me that they had did a system upgrade on my car and if the problem continued it was my phones fault and not the car. The next day the problem continued. I took it in a second time. They told me that that is just the way the car comes and there is nothing they can do about it. They suggested I phone GM customer service, so I did. I told the service representative, Cindy, the problem I was having. I asked her to authorize that a new radio system be put in my car, since I am still under my warranty. She told me that she could not do that and to go back to Laird Wheaton and have them look at it again. I went back to Laird Wheaton a third time, and insisted that they give me a rental car. They had my car for 4 hours. They called me back and told me the same thing, it is just the way my car runs and there is nothing they can do about it. Then they made me pay for my rental car. They told me to go back to GM customer service. I am sick and tired of having to go back and forth between Laird Wheaton service department and GM customer service. I highly recommend that everyone stays away from Laird Wheaton! They are quick to sell you a car, but will refuse to fix any problem with it.

We got a brand new truck that we had for less than 24 hours and we ended up on the side of the Parkway in a 120 zone in the pissing rain. We are lucky that we werent in an accident. My 7 month old was also in the car. After having a lift and tires installed at laird wheaton the valve stem conveniently comes off causing us to cut off several vehicles. I would NEVER recommend any one to deal with Laird Wheaton GM The sales team (Mark & Ryan ) did there job for us so thankyou for your service. However, the service/parts side of that building is another story. It was nice to hear one of the mechanics complain "probably one of our apprentices who put the tires on but thats no excuse ". On the plus side your detailer is very nice maybe your service team should take some tips from him. I never read reviews about this place before going in but clearly its obvious the parts side needs some serious help. My family has been in the car industry for the last 50 years I should have known better when they said this places reputation has gone downhill when wheaton took over. Please do not reply with some excuse like the previous reviews. You have a review system on your Facebook for a reason. Hopefully next time you will be more careful of your work because you are lucky my son is okay. To top this all off I posted this review on there Facebook page where they can CHPOSE whether or not they want the review option and have they responded to my review ? Nope. But they have managed to call my spouse several times asking him to ask me to take my review down. FYI luke at laird wheaton if you want me to even consider taking my review down you might want to start with corresponding with the person who WROTE it.

My vehicle was towed to Laird Wheaton from an independent repair shop. It had an intermittent "no start, no crank, no communication" condition that the independent shop suspected was a faulty engine control module (ECM) but felt a GM certified shop was better able to troubleshoot. I asked Laird Wheaton to confirm that it was a busted ECM. They did their diagnostics and called me to say they confirmed it was the ECM. They quoted $880 including labor and taxes to do the job. I gave the go ahead. Next day I get a call saying the new ECM they received from Vancouver was "a dud" and they need to get a new one, which will take another day. After expressing doubts about the ECM being the issue (and not a loose wire or something) I said okay. Next day I get a call and Im told 2nd ECM doesnt work either. Now they are going to check the wiring (why not do this before assuming the ECM is at fault, as GMs TSBs all say should be done? They find a broken wire and fix it, but now say the bad wiring might have caused the ECM to break. They need to get a 3rd ECM. Its now 6 days later and I get a call saying the car is ready. I go to pick up the car and Im presented with a bill for $2,500! I never approved that. They agree to reduce it to $1,301, which is still 50% more than I approved. I recognize that they did have to do more than just replace the ECM (check the wiring), so I reluctantly pay the bill. I go out to the vehicle, turn the ignition on and the "check engine" light is on. It wasnt on before it broke down. They say its not a big deal, just a fuel pressure sensor. I dunno, after $1,300 I was kinda hoping not to see that "check engine" light glaring at me from the dash.

Extremely upset with this dealership. Back in 2015 I purchased a 2014 brand new Chevy Silverado with a lift kit, when I showed up 10 hours from out of town they did not have mudflaps on it, I complained as it is the law in bc. All they did was give me a set and told me to set up an appintemnt with another dealership along the way... after one season of driving the truck I purchased winter tires from a local shop, when I had them changed over the shop told me one of the tires is a "run flat" meaning somebody drove the truck for an extended period of time, it only had 200 km from test drives on it when I purchased the vehicle, so as it was roughly 6 months after I purchased the vehicle I took pictures and sent them in, they did not honour the defective tire they sold me. Instead told me I had done the damage.... I would never drive any vehicle with a flat tire! I drive kids around in that vehicle that could have potentially blown out while i was driving, had to purchase another 500$ tire that they would not reimburse me for. Even with photografic evidence to support my case. Very unpset with this dealership, I could have lost my life or even worse killed everyone in the vehicle, I highly recommend anyone to look over the vehicle well and get them to inspect the interior of the tire as they some me a dagamed run flat! Stay away from liard Wheaton! They are a golden example of how all the dealerships treat people, especially after they have your money. Dealt with head office, local manager in pg and in Nanaimo. Dealing with them had been nothing but a negative experience.
