Without fail, I always have a great experience at the North End Kal-Tire. Originally with Chris and Adam, now with Graham and Cassandra, the customer service of the shop is absolutely excellent! The reason we decided to go with Kal-Tire was because we needed to get Winter Tires. Winter Tires are a definite investment, but after watching a YouTube video illustrating the braking time and distance of Winter Tires compared with All Seasons, my Mother and I were thoroughly convinced that getting Winter Tires was a necessity even in Nanaimos fairly mild winters. Kal-Tire provided the best value by far. The tires were well priced compared to other shops, but what was the real huge plus was the fact that if you purchase "Tires and Rims" from the shop, swapping the tires is free of charge for the life of the tire. This is huge! Canadian Tire charges $40 to swap between Winter and All Season tires. Thats $80 a year. We have been swapping tires for 3 years now. Already the tires are being paid for with this great value! The consideration of "Retorquing" tires after having them serviced in any capacity, for free is a nice touch, even if the likelihood that the tires will fall off after having been serviced is very rare, its a thoughtful gesture and in the 1 in 10,000 chance something happens : life saving. My most recent experience highlights how terrific the shop is. I was finding the braking a bit soft and the steering a bit loose on our Ranger, and Graham did all the inspections (including fluid levels) completely free of charge. I think the truck was looked at for about an hour, maybe a bit more, including a test drive. Thats a good chunk of time, and it was all free, just good customer service. I have always been happy with the service I have received with this Kal Tire, but my last visit has been over the top. When I went in I got a quote and when I went in to pick up my vehicle I was told that one of the services on the quote was not needed so it was going to be cheaper! What? Cheaper? Who says that? My partner just went to a different place and paid hundreds more for services that were not even quoted, so I completely appreciated the service I receive here, not even to mention how well my vehicle is now running! Love these guys and Gal! Thank you, Kal Tire!

Went in for a tire balance and rotation. Was told they couldnt do it because of a ball joint problem. I received a quote for the work. The quote was very expensive compared to alternate quotes. I then took my truck to another kaltire and asked them to balance and rotate. They did it no problem. I also asked them to check my ball joints while they were at it. To my surprise they informed me that they were sound. I then took it to another reputable mechanic for an evaluation. They also told me my ball joints were perfectly good. I dont recommend the north end kaltire.

Very polite, very honest staff. All charges were explained to me before any services were to be performed, and I was called to confirm when new information was collected. My repair ended up costing me less than I thought! (A computer check was just over $50 here, while a computer diagnostic check at the Toyota dealership is over $120.) I will use the north end Kal Tire again, and I would recommend to a friend. Thanks for your integrity!

Stopped in with a suspected brake problem. Their friendly staff noticed an oil leak and sent me away free of charge to deal with that elsewhere. Great customer service. Unfortunately, the team here did miss a serious brake problem, which wound up being more urgent than the oil leak :-S
