I purchased a 2016 Hyundia Sonata about a month ago from the Nanaimo dealership. The experience was low pressure and I found the car I wanted at a great price. And I dont say this lightly, I spent a week comparing with Vancouver dealerships, Auto trader and other places on the island. They had the best price at the time in all of BC for the car I was looking for. This is also my 2nd Hyundia Sonata. The space and features are all very user friendly which is hard to find with all the fancy tech most new cars come with. The features are high tech, but practical and useful, rather then confusing noises you just want to shut off. Beyond that, the buying experience I had was not stressful and I would go back for my next vehicle as I have strayed and had a different vehicle for a year - ended up going back to Hyundia. I did not receive a bunch of unnecessary calls and texts while I was making my decision either, which was nice - as I had said I was serious and just needed some time to make things final. Corbin (sales) and Rick were easy to talk and were able to answer all my questions, I also didnt feel ignored after I bought the car and had a couple questions - this is important. I got a fair price for my trade in as well. Overall it was a great buying experience and I have a car I love.

Came in a couple of months ago because my car was wobbling and bouncing during driving. Guy at the service counter took it for literally a 30 second drive, came back in and said theres no wobble. Told us it was safe to drive on the highway, and sent us on our way. Told us to book a full appointment if we wanted them to take a closer look (And this was a month after having an alignment done with a road test, where they also upsold us to a tire rotation). Turns out the rear tire was rupturing on the sidewall and shoulder. Very obvious, big long tear, and dangerous! So not only did they miss this during the inspection, when we came in again because the car was bouncing they told us it was safe to drive. On the final appointment where they finally saw the rupture, they tried to sell us tires at full price, and tried to charge us for the visit. Just bad service and bad attitudes all around. Very depressing place. Take your business elsewhere, lots of friendlier places will do warranty work. Wound up buying tires at OK Tire, who were incredibly friendly and helpful, didnt require an appointment, and had us on our way within 20 minutes. The person that drove the Hyundai shuttle was nice though.

Between this dealership and Hyundai Canada, I am so thoroughly disappointed with everything to do with Hyundai period! My fuel sending unit went last November, and at a cost of over 600$, I had it replaced at a licensed shop in Parksville. One year and 7....yes...your right..I said 7 days later, the part stopped working. Called Jim Patteson Hyundai Nanaimo, nope, they wont cover it over one year.....keep in mind its only 7...yes 7 days later.....so..I call Hyundai Canada, spoke to Daniel. He told me he would work something out with the management in Ontario. Said he would call me back the very next day. Over 2 weeks later, I finally started calling every day, and today he FINALLY got back to me. The answer was no. I cant believe that I will have to spend ANOTHER 600$ plus, to replace this part AGAIN...I guess hoping that it wont break in another 366 days, because Hyundai will NOT replace the part if its over 365 days. Keep that all in mind before buying from this dealer, because believe me, I am very sorry that I bought something this cheaply made and over priced.

I am very disappointed in the lack of service i have received . I had a front seal replaced in my Sante Fe, at 98000 km, I am now at 10200 km and the same seal needs to be replaced. I called the service department over a week ago, 2 days in a row to inquire as to why I would have the same issue with the Sante Fe so soon.. I have yet to get a return call from the dealer. I have gone to Canadian Tire to resolve the problem. At least they are prompt and polite to their customers. I will add that Nanaimo Hyundai did call me to address this issue, promised to get back to me the next day and now I am on day 4 of waiting for that to happen ! I know that this will not be where I purchase my next vehicle ! As an update is needed, I will say the Nanaimo Hyundai, did come through in the end and treat me very fairly with my repair issue. I would say having to post on here to get a response was a bit disappointing, but in the end I am a happy customer, so I have updated my rating. Thanks again to the service department.

Jim Pattison Hyundai Nanaimo, B.C My son and I have both had very recent experiences in purchasing new vehicles from Sheldon Okaduik. I was very impressed with this young man as we were treated in what I call " the new modern day sales approach".......having purchased many vehicles from dealers in the past 25 yrs it was incredibly refreshing to not have to listen or talked into something I dont like from the "old school salesman"....and many of you know the type Im speaking about, the ones who are pushy, always saying your best deal is today, or make an offer cause this deal wont last long...etc, etc. This salesman Sheldon has only been on the job a short time and I was so impressed we end up buying 2 new cars, he knows the product, hes incredibly polite, he doesnt come with any attitude like the old school guys.....give him a try and you will see exactly what Im speaking about.....this kid is going places! Just bought a 2012 Elantra Touring from Ed Lachance last week and the service was great! This was a simple, honest, and hassle free vehicle purchasing experience without pressure. The guys werent pushy at all and let us take the time to digest the right model for us with features we needed. Ed Lachance and the team were really helpful & sold this car on the merit of its many features and they didnt deviate from the quality of the car nor the value of the offer. No bartering or petty haggling, just seemed like a good honest deal with friendly knowledgeable people! The car fits me and my needs just great! I just put the 1000th Km on it today & it still feels like the day I drove it off the lot (except a bit dirtier). I purchased a brand new 2011 Hyundai Elantra from Ed Lachance at Nanaimo Hyundai. I originally met him when he was showcasing a Hyundai vehicle at Woodgrove mall. At that time I was just in the looking stages but he answered all of my questions and was very personable and knowledgeable. When it came time to buy, I found Ed to be extremely accommodating. He answered all of my questions and the rest of the Nanaimo Hyundai team was super!! The car has been through its first few services and their service department is also fantastic!! I am extremely happy that I chose this dealership & would definitely look to them first for my next vehicle. Go see Ed Lachance if you are looking for a new car - you wont be sorry!!!
