:My 2006 Ford escape made a loud bang and then started to make a rattling sound when I tried to start it on the morning of Feb.17 2017. The vehicle was towed to Family Ford. They examined the vehicle, The service department then phoned to tell me that it had blown a spark plug. I asked what do the records tell you, she said we have no records . I do have a record that state they inspected spark plugs on Dec.12/15. They told me that there is 3 options 1. repair vehicle for $1000.00, but this not a sure fix.2.$4600.00 to install new head.3.a mechanic in their shop would give $500.00. I was then very upset I asked for someone there to tell me what the vehicle was worth a salesman told with a vehicle that has 19500k on it is not worth much they maybe would give me $2000.00 to $3000.00 for it if I would buy a new vehicle from them. The people I was talking to made me feel as if I bought a piece of junk by buying a Ford .I then went down to the Ford dealer hoping to talk to a manager all they had on that day was the sales manager he told me,"you dont expect us to pay for your maintenance problem". I also spoke to the head mechanic to ask what the $1000.00 fix was, he told me that they did not have the tool to fix the vehicle and that to modify a tool would cost me the $1000.00 I told him that Im not buying tools for his shop then I left. I then phoned the owner of the Family Ford and told her of what happened, as explained above , she told me that they would need a warehouse of tools to fix old Fords so that the mechanic was right to charge me. I waited until Monday to talk to the service manager he informed me that he would try to get the repair bill down under $500.00. They spent the whole week trying to figure out how to fix the problem, in the meantime I was paying for a rental vehicle. They repaired the vehicle Fri,24/17 and then tried to charge me $632.00. I called the service manager, he told me he forgot to charge a few things like new spark plugs. I told him that they were holding the keys ,I had no choice but to pay. The bill was now $573.59 that I paid. Very bad experience they belittled me, they made you feel that you are a sucker for buying a Ford. I would never recommend this company unless you have Ford tools and are not able to find anyone else. And dont worry they will use your tools because they do not have a warehouse.

I will never return or reccomend this dealership. Was rushed through the sale, barely got to test drive the car and then rushed to do paperwork right afterwards while being pressured into all of it. I asked for service history and they said they couldnt get it. While i was signing papers one of the sales reps comes in and asks if the car was sold then proceded to tell me they just fixed the car because it broke down on them on there last test run. that is even part of the service history and yet they couldnt tell me? After all was said and done we started to have issues with the car not even a week later. We contacted them and had the car sent into them, we told them it only does it on a cold startup. The "Transmission specialist" then proceded to tell me that the car shifts differently when its cold out, then has two of his office staff test drive it right after also (why would they be driving it, expessially if i said its only on cold startups??) After i go pickup the car they tell me they are gonna get me that service history, still nothing. Ive texted and chatted with them, and now im just being ignored, they wont go good for a lemon car they sold me. Im told that some people go out and trash there vehicles then claim that it was previous, how can I ruin a throw out bearing?? Impossible without ruining the clutch. Now im stuck with it for 5 years and will be removing the transmission anytime now costing me money that i shouldnt be having to spend, expessially for a $16,000 car and $2000 deposit. I will never reccomend this dealership to anyone after all that has went on and nothing done for me. What a waste of money.

Recently I was on vacation in Parksville and on the drive out there from Kelowna I noticed that my left signal light burned out. I went to the Ford dealership on a busy day and was not expecting to get service that day but hoped to at least get the part and have my son install it. When I arrived on the lot (which is clearly under construction) I was greeted by one staff member just a soon as I got out of my car - very friendly. I asked if I was heading the right way for parts and service and he pointed out the way to get there. When I got to parts and service a gal named Kaylee arranged for a technician to help me out and pretty much right away - I got service! Technician Gerald Killby took a minute to collect the part and a few tools and within another minute or two I was fixed up and ready to go. When he finished installing it and checked that everything worked properly he said "youre good to go!" and I said great Ill just come in and pay and he said "no its OK Youre good". I couldnt believe it really - they were so busy and he took time to help me immediately upon entering the dealership. Anyway its probably a small thing to him but it was actually a big thing to me. I needed it fixed to feel safe on the drive home and Im really grateful for the awesome helpful and friendly staff at this Ford dealership. Thanks so much!!!

CAUTION - Worst Experience EVER…lied to us about the numbers while trying to rush us to sign all the time he sat there telling us no no its no more then what was agreed upon and that their paperwork never makes sense and is higher then what it really turns out to be. Once home we had gone through the paperwork and realized what he had done, they added over 10,000 worth of add ons without even discussing the price I tried to call them to try get it straightened out and no one would return my call for over a week, and when he finally did after I had to call for the 3rd time, he argues with me that he talked it over with me and that I had okayed it, and continues to say oh we will give you a good deal on the next one… now I know its our own fault for trusting them and their words and signing, but you would think they would want to keep their customers happy and coming back (since we were looking for 2 new vehicles not just 1) They will not be getting our business again

I am new to Parksville and engaged this Ford dealership for the purchase of a new F150. Eric Cullen was my sales representative. During my time of exploring my options I visited numerous dealerships both here on the Island, as well as the Mainland. In the end I felt committed to coming back to Parksville and securing the deal with Eric Cullen. I say securing the deal as I was offered another deal by another agency but in the end came back to this dealership. Eric was very professional, was not into high pressure tactics, and was straight forward from the beginning with the information and pricing. I will in the future contact Eric again for purchasing of another vehicle as it has been a pleasurable experience including Everett Einarson. I appreciate the professionalism, and mannerisms that were delivered throughout my purchasing experience and thank the staff at Family Ford.
