I was really impressed with these guys. Their inventory contained a number of low-mileage cars which were reasonably priced. Sales staff were forthright about the car I was buying and they walked me through their vehicle inspection report and carfax, and let me keep copies when I purchased the vehicle. It is a second-generation family-owned business, as I learned, with the owner often on-site, which made me feel confident that they could be trusted if something went wrong. As it happened, I soon ended up having problems with the vehicle (which were later revealed NOT to have been Boumans fault - a brand new part they had installed during their own inspection proved to be faulty from the parts manufacturer, which Bouman could not have known). Even though they were under no obligation to assist me, I let them know about the problems I had encountered and offered them the chance to resolve my concerns. They immediately agreed to do so and went beyond what I would have expected, paying not only for a more expensive replacement part, but also the labour for installation (at a rather pricey rate, too). I never write reviews, but these guys were under no obligation to help me and yet they did the right thing and took care of me and for that they deserve considerable credit.

I have bought several cars, more at the entry-level, from Bouman over the years. Ive mostly delt with the father and son team, and have never been rushed into any decision. In fact, I like their laid back approach. When I wanted to test drive a car, they just hand me the keys. I value the trust factor. While in my dealings, they didnt offer a guarantee after purchase, but the safety report left in the dashboard of their cars told me most of what I needed to know. Mr. Bauman told me that if the car has problems in the first couple weeks after purchase, I can bring it back to have it fixed, etc. They offer a gentlemans handshake, which aged 50+ as I am, I appreciate. The cars weve purchased have served my family well for years after the sale. So, if you want help when you ask for it, rather then a used car salesman schtick, you value good cars well priced, and a handshake that means something, then you should check out Bouman motors.

If I could write a review with no stars, I would but this is the most horrible dealership and customer service and a waste of time dealing with these so called sales people. My boyfriend made a trip from Victoria to do a trade that they agreed to over the phone, plus $1500 cash (which his own truck was worth more then what they were offering) because they said they needed to make money. He gets there, the guy skimmed over his truck for 4 mins, not even the inside, and said he wasnt going to do the deal because they noticed that his truck was originally from a dealership in Victoria that he proceeded to badmouth. If you want honest, friendly service, DO NOT go here ever.

also went to buy a vehicle, and when the guy there could be bothered to look away from his phone he barely spoke to me i asked about a truck and said i was interested, (it hadnt been inspected yet,snowed) i left my number and asked to be contacted as soon as it was inspected. Didnt get a call, i called three days later,finding out after it was also posted online the day after i asked about it, and it was apparently already sold(post is still there almost a month later). lots of places with people who are actually trying, wouldnt reccommend.i imagine if anything goes wrong with anything you buy there youll probablly get treated the same way.

Been looking at a vehicle on their website for a week now. Rushed out of port alberni to look at it, get there and were told it sold a few days prior. Perhaps updating your website regularly could help save people money and time while they shop for a car. Didnt get an apology just an " oops I guess you shouldve called us first" Less than impressed and wont be spending my $$ there.

Just bought my first "adult" vehicle and couldnt have had a better experience. They took the stress out of it with their pressure-free salesmanship. Also, they gave me an incredibly reasonable price on the truck and a really great trade-in value on my old truck. Special thanks to Walter for making it happen!

Either incompetent or downright liars. The salesperson jacked the price of a vehicle by 10 % after after the deal was complete saying that he had made a mistake in the agreed upon price. Avoid at all costs.

These guys sent me out for a test drive with an empty tank so I couldnt go far .gave em 3600 $ lasted until the warranty was up .it was the worst experience Ive ever had buying a vehicle !

Spoke to salesman the day before to come down from Port Alberni and phoned that day to look at a car at a specific time, no one to help at all. Drove down for no reason, unimpressed!
