Due to my vehicle being repaired at Richmond Autobody next door, renting a vehicle from Hertz was very convenient. The new car was a pleasure, yet my disappoint lies in the lack of care taken when cleaning out the vehicle prior to renting it out to myself. While out with my daughter she needed a kleenex and was hoping to find something in the middle console storage box. To her surprise and mine, their was marijuana found in the compartment! Had I done a trip to the States as I have been known to do, this could have been catastrophic to myself ! The thoughts are fearful of what could have unfolded. Even the simplest road check could have labelled and marked me. No sincere apology was provided, no real explanation of why something like this could have occurred was given. This was a true concern and disappointment!! Sharing this within social media could have impactful affects on your business and the loyalty and commitment you proclaim to have within the vehicle rental community. I encourage all those in a situation of car rental take thorough care to ensure your vehicle has been cleaned properly and that nothing extraordinary has been left behind that could change your life completely!

It wasnt at this particular location where I had my unpleasant experience but it was a Hertz kiosk located at Mercedes-Benz Langley. My Mercedes was was dropped off for maintenance and they didnt have enough Mercedes loaner cars at the time so I was issued a car from Hertz. Long story short my car was finished and ready to pick up sooner than expected and I returned the vehicle with 3 quarter tank full. They warned me it would be more expensive if I didnt fill it up myself but I was in a rush to get back to work so I didnt bother with the few extra dollars. My bill for the gas was $65.50 for 1 quarter of a tank; maybe I havent been educated with upgraded gas octanes or I was just ripped off. I expressed my concerns with the staff once in person and was promised a follow up call that was never returned and another time called in myself still no follow up. Im not too worried about losing some change but its the principal. -Disappointed victim

Worst Service ever! I remember when I was in a collision and needed a rental car, ICBC contracted to these guys! When I dropped my car off at the auto body shop, the reps from Hertz were there waiting... Surely enough, they show you the rental car and then.... they start hounding you to purchase their extended warranty for get this.. $26/day!! If you say so, they guilt trip you and make you paranoid that if you get into a car accident you will be held liable... and then they start dumping with you with "Oh by the way, you will also be responsible for .... ..." Worst ever service! I felt so annoyed and harrassed by them

The team here was great, we had a total loss accident and needed a family van for a few weeks. These guys went to bat and found a van, when we picked it up it is clean and nearly new, a great fit and saved us in this crazy mixed up time. Very easy to extend my rental time while we hunted for a new vehicle, highly highly recommended. Worth noting that although their computers were down when i arrived, they did not impose a delay on me, they got my info manually and had me on the road quickly.

Wasnt great, tried to pin previous damage on car to my account. Forgot my security pass in the car too (which is my fault) but guy on the phone wouldnt even bother to look if the car was still there when I called back. Moral of the story double check the car when you return it and make sure you get the insurance so they cant pin any previous damage on you.
