In the summer, myself and my boyfriend moved from Langford to Nanaimo. Due to the high demand of my Victoria job position, I was asked to commute weekly from Nanaimo to Victoria. Soon after the move, I had Fountain Tire in Nanaimo replace my tires with Winters.I was very pleased with the original experience. My car felt great, The service was acceptable and I didnt have to pay nearly as much as I intended. Within 2 weeks of my tire replacement, I felt the front left tire of my car grinding when I applied my break. This made me very nervous as these were new tires. I immediately contacted the Nanaimo Fountain tire and explained my situation. The next morning my car was in the shop and going through an assessment. The mechanic notified me that he needed to replace the break pads to the left front. I agreed with this repair as it is important for me to have a reliable vehicle for work. I went home to wait for the call to pick up my car. When I received the call, the mechanic informed me that he needed to do work on the "calliper" as there was damage. Again, I agreed to the service as I require a reliable/ safe vehicle. When I arrived to pick up my car and pay my bill, there were no mention of the right break pads or calliper. I do not know vehicles. I entrusted this mechanic to make sound judgements on my car. I trusted his decisions and choices in correcting my cars issues and allowing me to safely return to my travels. This was not the case. Yesterday, I was driving on the highway leaving Victoria and returning to Nanaimo when there was a horrible squealing sound under my car and on the right front. My car felt horrible. I grew incredibly worried about my own well being when I could smell burning. I decided to take the exit to the Langford Fountain Tire. I explained what I experienced. The staff were instantly active. They took my car into the garage and began working while I waited confused and anxious in the office. An employee came in from the garage and explained that my car required excessive work. He explained that the calliper on my right side had worn and had destroyed my routers and barrings. He explained it would have been incredibly dangerous if I had continued driving the highway. He then proceeded to ask me why I didnt have BOTH callipers replaced when I had my car in for work in Nanaimo. I had no idea that this was a normal practice. Again, I do not know cars and their parts. After investigating the issue thoroughly, I was given a quote of nearly $1000. My anxiety hit the roof. I could not believe the situation. I felt cheated and taken advantage of by the company. I didnt understand why the company had a paid "professional" not discuss the need of the second calliper and pads to be changed when I originally visited the Nanaimo site. At this point I wanted my car out of Fountain Tires care. I wanted to leave and never return. The Manager at the Langford Fountain Tire was INCREDIBLE! He made everything right. Not only did he accept the flaw of the company but he discussed the situation firmly with the Nanaimo Fountain Tire Manager, he offered to do the repairs needed in a timely manner and cut the costs dramatically. He was on the phone in minutes ordering parts from up Island within minuets. He then handed me keys to the courtesy car and I was on my way. I can easily say that I can trust the Staff at the Langford Fountain Tire location. I will NEVER have any work done on my car or my families car from the Nanaimo Fountain Tire. I will NEVER recommend a single person to the Nanaimo facility due to their negligence, lack of care and disregard for their customers. I am incredibly displeased with this entire experience. I was driving an unsafe vehicle because of the Nanaimo Mechanic. I could have been injured or seriously hurt someone else. Thank you to the Manager of the Langford Fountain Tire for stepping up, being honest and FOLLOWING THE FOUNTAIN TIRE MISSION STATEMENT. It is people like yourself that make this world a positive place. I will always return to this location.

Very disappointed with my tire change and alignment. Original quote was $455 (tires were on sale for a good price), without the nitrogen fill (which I asked not to have because neighbourhood kids like to deflate tires). Was told the alignment would be an additional $100 w/ purchase of 4 tires, so I agreed to it. Arrived at the time agreed upon and a different counter person told me a higher price, when I asked about it he said the alignment was $115. I questioned that recalling the $100 w/ tires. He said no problem he can make it $100. my car was on a hoist within 5 minutes. So far so good. It however sat there for 40 minutes with the old tires on. Only one or two of the guys in the service bays appeared to be working the rest looked to be wandering around aimlessly or joking with one another. Once the alignment started the fellow doing it seemed attentive and kept moving, even came outside to ask me a couple questions about steering etc The bill was $45 more than expected. The $14 for alignment wasnt taken off, they filled and charged me for nitrogen that I asked not to have. There was no explanation of the services done - my alignment numbers seem way out order after. ** after a couple days of driving with the new tires and alignment Ive noticed I have to constantly adjust the steering wheel to stay in the center of the lane, and turning right is more touchy than left. Feels like Im driving through a heavy rain storm on a dry straight highway. Will not be recommending nor returning to this shop

Horrible customer service! I called ahead of time to go in to get some very basic work done and was put on hold for the first 10 minutes. They said they had time and to bring my car in so I did. When I arrived I walked in and they were assisting another customer and that was fine. I waited in line for more than 20 MINUTES before I was even acknowledged. Not even a hi or we will be right with you. Finally when I got some service a half an hour later I had asked about a special they had going on at the time and was told that they did not have a technician there and would not give me the deal that was advertised. I told them that their lack of professionalism was appalling and their response was "feel free to go somewhere else!" I got back home and called their customer complaint line and of course nobody was available to speak to directly and so I was prompted to leave a message. It has been over a month and several calls later and still have not even received as much as a call back. I will not be bringing my car back there nor would I recommend anyone else.

Absolutely brutal service.. i would give a negative star if i could.. NEVER BRING YOUR VEHICLE HERE.. I went in to get get a part for my truck. they checked out the part and said cause they dont stock it it was a special order and i would have to pre pay.. thats all good.. i got back form work a few week later and brought my truck in to have the part installed. i was told the part wouldnt fit my truck and i was not going to be refunded cause it was a special order.. they absolutely refused saying i was told.. NO YOU NEVER SAID A WORD THAT THEY MIGHT NOT FIT.. I WOULD NEVER ORDER SOMETHING PREPAID IF IT MIGHT NOT WORK.. fountain tires in the past have been good but this crappy place made sure to never bring my personal truck or any of my work trucks here ever again.. and ill be sure to spread the word on the way you treat your customers...
