I took my ageing SUV in for a road test to find out what may be causing the faint sensation of surging. Doug one of the owners took it for a spin and said that it would be necessary to take out the transmission in order to properly diagnose the problem. I told him that I was on a disability pension and couldnt afford a big repair bill. In the end there were other issues that needed to be fixed and the final bill was over 5k dollars. Clearly too much money to spend on a high mileage, 20 year old SUV. However I did pay the bill and so far the quality of the repair has been very good. In retrospect I feel that I was talked into repairing my aging vehicle and that my better option would have been to buy a good used vehicle for considerable less money. The quality of the workmanship is very good, the mechanics know their trade, but what was supposed to be kept under 3k dollars, went way over budget. The contract that they make you sign before they start any work clearly states that once they have the transmission apart, if you decide not to fix it, there is a hefty fee for the estimate. My advice is to think whether or not it is worth while fixing before you sign the contract to get the estimate done.

Doug is an amazing person to do business with. He and Nigel have been looking after all the vehicles in our family for a few years now, and I figured it was time to leave a review. Dougs people have replaced the engine in our Range Rover, repaired our Kia Sorrento, repaired my daughters audi, and even supplied new tires for all our vehicles each year. In fact, last fall Doug himself came down and helped me get my boat out of the water because my truck was in his shop. How many business owners will do that? His pricing is more than fair, and he always treats every member of our family like royalty when we go to his shop. But I also see him treat other customers the same way. Ive never met any other business owner with the same level of customer service as Doug and his people. Nigel is a clone of Doug when it comes to customer service too. And finally, the work they do is excellent. I cant say enough good things about Doug and Nigel. This isnt your ordinary AAMCO shop.

I busted up my tranny about.. 3 weeks ago late at night coming into Kamloops on our way to Edmonton. My chrysler 300 was pretty pissed off at my lack of brains while loading my vehicle for the road trip.... Got my car towed to their shop and went there in the am as they opened. Told em what happened and the situation we were in. Needless to say, These guys here are friendly, accommodating and very professional. To say the least!!! They ordered me a damn good tranny from Vancouver and it was in their shop the next day... So we got to relax as we werent in a rush. Im going to be honest.... I didnt fulling read everything on the bill of sale that i was given. my fiance noticed that.... They didnt even charge me labor, I was speechless.... After spending..... more money than some people make in a year, that i spent in 2 weeks... i was shocked and thankful with their price, attitude and how quickly they got us on our way. Thank you guys for all your help!!! I appreciate it.

Our experience with Aamco in Kamloops was exceptional. We came in Thursday soon before they closed with a leaking transmission. As we were crossing Canada from West to East and had just started the treck, we were really bummed to be in this situation but Aamcos team made sure our hickup would go as smoothly as possible. Doug kept us in a good mood while trying to figure out the best course of action to get us back on the road with a working transmission. He even asked if one of their mechanics would be willing to work late Friday night. Blair agreed to stay to make sure our new transmission would be in place and in good running condition. Friday night rolls around, many stories and laughs later, sure enough, we were back on the road. Thank you to Doug and Blair for all of their help and hard work!

Wish that I could give a higher rating than 5/5 stars. As a young female passing through an unfamiliar city , I always want to make sure that service in regards to my vehicle isnt overcharged or a painfully prolonging process. Doug & staff were an incredible help with tending to my cars needs (swapping out transmission), & making sure that I was aware of the entire process in full detail , as well as genuinely helping make sure I got home safely. They certainly have the ethic of what it takes to run a business that keeps their customers best interest in mind. Would absolutely reccomend to anyone , & cant thank them enough for everything theyve done for me during my stay in Kamloops

Had my fiancee shift his chrysler 300 into park while going 80 km by stopping to fast and a cooler hitting the shifter on the highway had it towed to aamco in the middle of the night next morning they jumped on it even though they were crazy busy. Found he needed a new transmission. They got it shipped in an replaced it in less than 2 days. I can honestly say Ive never had a car serviced as well and fast as they had it done. And the price was unbelievable for a full tranny replacement. I wish I could give them more than 5 stars the team here is amazing. Super amazing work. Fantastic knowledgeable staff would recommend to everyone.

AAMCO Kamloops is the best place I have ever had my vehicles serviced. I will never go anywhere else. Doug, Nigel, and the entire staff are outstanding. They are courteous and knowledgeable, and they go the extra mile to help you. They take the time to listen to your concerns and they explain what needs to be done to fix it. They are not satisfied until you are. They dont just fix your vehicle, they genuinely care about their customers and they provide a level of service that is second to none.

At a place like Canadian Tire - the staff doesnt even know what the client is talking about(if the client knows a bit about mechanics). Doug and Nigel are the best in town! They know their stuff very well and are ready to answer any question. I first came to their shop when my transmission broke but since I stuck with them for anything related to my car. 2+ years - not a problem. They even fixed Canadian Tires mistakes. I am moving soon and will honestly miss my AAA mechanic.

Called to ask for an estimation in regards to a repair and was told they were busy. The man was hasty and rude. Asked if there was a better time to call back and was told "No we do not want to waste our time trying to figure out how much the part will be". In other words they simply want you to drop off your car and hit you with a bill after the repairs are done. Never heard of such nonsense. Definitely dodged a bullet not bringing my vehicle to them.
