Staff is very friendly, and explained any questions about the costs of what they did. Yet, I still left the shop feeling like I got got. The story: I got an out-of-province inspection done. According to the inspection I needed new rear bearings, stabilizer bar links for the front, both rear struts, new front calipers, rotors, pads, and fix the check engine light. I agreed with their assessment. What I didnt like was diagnosing the check engine light cost me another 130 on top of the inspection costs (i thought this would be included in the inspection costs - at least pull the code, it takes 2 mins). I asked for clarification for a rather expensive computer diagnosis. I was told that technicians can spend up to an hour to find the actual problem. Normally, I would agree especially on a hard diagnosis. But in this case, the problem evident. The code was for the vapor canister ventilation valve. The valve was rusted in half and dangling by the electrical connector under the car. You could see it from 3 meters away. The technician should not have spent 1 hour looking for that. Even testing the electrical connection for the valve would have taken 5 minutes tops. And secondly, cleanline generously offered a complementary car wash. Yet, they still charged me 16 dollars for lubricants, cleaners, and misc (keep in mind, i only got an inspection and diagnostic). Who gives a free car wash, but charges for cleaners? I felt bamboozled! I left the shop with a 300 dollars bill for the inspection and diagnostic. And a 3700 dollars estimate for the repairs. The repair costs are more significantly more than usual (i.e. bigger town), but that is normal considering sourcing parts in a small town, and the "green" moto of the shop. I raised these issues with the attendant. They asked someone else about it, who confirmed what was on the bill In the end, I did not get the repairs done there. I did them myself, cost me 1500 - including buying special tools like a bearing press and slide hammer. I passed inspection at another garage in Vancouver without issue.
Friends directed me to Cleanline and I have never looked back. I love that when I drop my car off there I know that I am always getting a truly thorough inspection and feel confident that my vehicle is in good working order. The mechanics have always provided friendly, detailed explanations of the issues with my car, sourced out various price points for replacement parts and laid out the issues (from most pressing to those that can wait a little longer). What really makes me say "Wow" is that when I am in a bind, Cleanline has gone above and beyond to help me out and get my car back in working order as quickly as possible. I would recommend Cleanline to anyone looking for a mechanic they can trust!
My friends and I were on vacation from Winnipeg, MB, when we hit a rock on the road that tore a gapping hole in my oil pan. Cleanline really helped us out and turned a stressful situation into an easy one. Aaron showed me all the work that needed to be done to get us home and Michel called me everyday to give updates on the repairs. They worked directly with my insurance provider to take care of all the paper work and even called me a couple days later to make sure we got back home safely. I really appreciate all the hard work they put in so that we enjoy our vacation and still make it back home trouble free.
I dropped my car at Cleanline about a week ago, fearing that I would have to get a coolant flush, but leaving the final decision to the experts. Instead of just doing the flush, no matter what, these guys told me honestly, that everything looks fine and that it doesnt need to be done. Great news! The guys are friendly and forthcoming and absolutely up to date. They provide every customer with an inspection sheet, detailling what needs future or immediate attention. This sheet even included pictures of the worn-out parts. I have never been to a mechanic more transparent. I do completely recommend Cleanline.
Cleanline Automotive is a fantastic business. The staff are really friendly, super accommodating and very professional. I particularly like their effort to maintain an environmentally friendly ethic in all that they do. This is the first time I have had my car looked after by an automotive company with this progressive approach. I am very satisfied with the care they take with my car. Every visit is a positive experience! Thanks, guys! Oh, and they have the best jelly beans!
Amazing customer service and advice. It always makes me feel happy to drop my car off (the office is really cool too)! Information about any issues relating to my car is always relevant and concise. Preventative options are also offered and explained in a manner that is respectful to someone who knows little to nothing about the vehicle in which she drives daily. I have no reservations about recommending CLEANLINE to anyone
Fabulous service! It was very prompt and thorough. They gave me a courtesy car and actually dropped it off to my work for me! I appreciate having a place where I trust the mechanics and get such great personal service. Highly recommended.
Thank you CLEANLINE AUTO. Extremely happy with the service, the explanation, and the price. So happy to meet a mechanic that is in no way an arrogant know-it-all. Thanks, From Kim.
