Who the heck is Credence? Makes me think all of those "Google User"s ARE Credence! Anyway.... Lets be clear: car dealers are car dealers, and like any business they need to make money and have a LOT of competition in this area, as well as being very high on the scale for pricing - only a house purchase is more, but you buy those once (and then flip) and they dont depreciate - so is Island Honda any different? Yes, and no. For my money, Japanese vehicles have been the most reliable and best quality for at least 40 years. Honda, along with Toyota, is at the top of the heap. Nothing against Mazda, and some Nissan models are good. I would love a Subaru, but theres no local dealer and I am not driving to Nanaimo for servicing. So, there are great vehicles on this lot. The Staff: pretty normal turnover, its a cutthroat business and, like sales anywhere, if you dont produce you are history. Plus office politics. So, if a salesperson lasts they are either good with customers (closing deals) or a team player (they get a base salary to stay alive). The best I have ever met, at any car dealer, is a very personable young man named Jay Cubitt. I could tell you all about his friendly manner, lack of pushiness, and willingness to just listen, but I suggest you go see him for yourself. If there is trouble, it comes - as always - when the Management enters the picture, especially if you are trading in. No matter how much you like your salesperson, they really have no power with the numbers. It is at this point that - feeling bad, like not being able to adopt that puppy - you walk because the Top Guy or Mr. Finance pissed you off on the trade-in offer, or was unable to get you financing (your fault, now its on to the Used Lots with high interest rates and Mr. Shark Smile salesman). If you have great credit, or are Leasing or Buying outright, you of course have a lot more cards in your hand. Id suggest walking in with a fairly firm figure in mind, dont add extra warranties or protection package (undercoating) or anything - even accessories - and you have bought a vehicle that is unbelievable in value: compare it to that 85 Plymouth Fury that you bought new for EXACTLY THE SAME COST adjusted for inflation. Did it have ABS, 4-wheel disc brakes, and navigation or an entertainment system like this? And the MPG, well......then theres the power-to-weight ratio......my goodness, how did we put up with those garbage mobiles? This new car will last 250,000 miles easy. That old Americrap rusted out or started blowing oil early and went to the crusher at half that mileage. So, feel happy if you can do a good deal - theyre not giving away new cars, except with low financing rates rates if you qualify - I mean, 0% is free money, why wouldnt you finance? - and if the Boss there can realize that your feet (and current car) will take you up the road to another dealer very easily, then perhaps you will find, as I have, that Island Honda is about as good as it gets. Very very good product, some great sales staff, and a car dealer (Management) that is as desperate as every other business to not let you think too long or "just look" today, but hey - would you want that pressure? You just have to go through the process for a few hours, not several times a day, every day, as your JOB....

I am new to the valley and have two Honda vehicles in my family. We had to get them safetied and a few quick fixes when we moved here. I am used to honda dealerships being very polite and efficient but this specific dealership really impressed me. I was met with a very friendly and knowledgable service agent who informed me of a few things that I had not even thought of to save myself some time and money. Then when I came back to pick up my car it was immaculate and this was the fastest servicing I have experienced to date. There was also a quick follow up call that I reiceved 2 days after my servicing to insure that I had the best possible experience. It is refreshing these days to see a company that I beleive truly cares about their customers. So often do you see dealerships that are run more like factories where its in and out without a good word or discussions about what is the best fit for you and how they could make your experience better. I will be back with my business and would definitaly purchase my future cars from this dealership and their exceptional staff

This letter is in reference to Sebastien Powsey, one of your employees. When I first walked onto your carlot Sebastien was there to greet me. He was warm and welcoming without being intrusive. He was funny and able to match his style and pace of conversation to my personality and demonstrated good communication skills. When I told him what I was looking for he was respectful and attentive. He took my number and told me he would call me if anything fitting my description came onto the lot. He did call and left a message without being pushy. The car fit perfectly into my wish list. I felt Seb was truly trying to accommodate my needs without upselling. I have now had the car for several months and am perfectly content with it all; thanks to seb keeping an eye out for my needs. He even called me a couple of weeks into my ownership to check up on my sale and inquire if I were satisfied. This, I thought, showed true caring since my purchase had already been made and he had nothing to gain. You are fortunate to have him as an employee. Renee F

It was a great experience dealing yet again with Island Honda. Our lease vehicle was in an extensive accident with a deer and Island Honda helped expedite our close of the original lease and getting us into a new lease at a very stressful time. Thank you for all your guidance Dave. Lorna our salesperson was very informative, she always took the time to answer our questions to our satisfaction and has not failed to reconfirm that if we have any questions before or after our lease that she is there to advise us. Lornas interest in our satisfaction never wavered before or after the lease of our vehicle. This is the second time we have leased a vehicle from Island Honda and it continues to be a pleasure to work with Dave, Lorna, Larry and the whole Island Honda Team. Also a shout out to the Service Team for taking care of my car over the years.

I love my new Honda thanks to Lorna! I am a returning customer to Island Honda and had the luck of having Lorna Tarnowski be my sales associate this time around. She was very professional in her approach to customer sales with showing me all the features and how they actually worked. I felt very comfortable with her as we went for a test drive and worked thru the various options on the vehiclee. I truly appreciate having a womens help in selecting a vehicle...no fancy sales pitch, no pressure sales...she wanted me to be happy with the product and my final decision. Lorna allowed me to review the whole vehicle as she showed me all the features and how they worked. I will return for my next purchase and will deal with no other sales person but Lorna. I have full confidence in her ability to look after me.
