I have been taking my cars to NR Auto for over 10 years and am VERY PLEASED with the owners professional competence and honest, friendly service. I strongly recommend this business. The owner, Neil, is a very smart mechanic who diagnoses problems quickly and correctly. Service is always professional and prices are fair. I would not keep returning to this shop if the service was bad or if the price was too high. I see that there was a flurry of negative reviews about this shop, all of them about 2 months ago. It looks to me like someone was not happy, for whatever reason, and recruited all his or her friends to send in bad reviews. Look at the whole picture of the reviews of this shop – all are good to excellent, except for one outburst of bad reviews about two months ago. Make your own decision – believe the many satisfied customers who have provided good reviews or listen to the disgruntled person who sponsored a flurry of reviews about 2 months ago. I side with the majority – this is a good business.

Im noticing a few vile reviews, please dont make your decision based off of those. The Owner, Neil, is a very down to earth and very pleasant to deal with. Thank you! I can honestly say that out of a lot of businesses in this industry, and i know this industry pretty well as I grew up in and around it, NR Auto is an absolute breeze to deal with. Me and a friend of mine have been taking our vehicles here for over a year now and NR Auto came highly recommended to me by a coworker who has been taking his vehicles to NR Auto for years. They are a no bull kind of place and they dont hit you with secret charges. They are upfront with you on everything and affordable. If they cant do something they give you recommendations on what you can do or where you should go. I promise this is a good mechanic shop and recommend it to anyone needing work done on their vehicle.

Ive been coming to this place for years. They have never let me down. I came here thanks to the good advise of a friend who knows all about repair shops and mechanics. He does buy and sell cars for a living. And he always sends me to the best ones. So he sent me here and Ive been coming ever since. No problems, decent price, good attention/service, relatively fast. I even tried other places to compare them all and I always fall back here. No complains at all, Im very happy with my experiences Ive had here for about 10 years. * Hateful comments with the intention to miss inform or bring down the reputation of a business is against policy for local guides. I dont agree with what is said negatively about this business on another comment or review and its my duty to report it. Its the right thing to do.

I was recommended to Neil by a friend. My friends had purchased a car from him and he was extremely satisfied with both the price and the condition of the car. I normally do my own work, but was unable to bring my garage/tools with me when I moved to Vancouver. I saw a few things with my car that I wanted inspected further. I gave Neil, the owner, a list of six things to look into. He was very straight forward with what was wrong (and what wasnt), and gave me a quote to fix the issues at a rate close to what it would have cost me to do it myself. Overall a great experience (something typically hard to say with a mechanic) with Neil, the mechanic and his staff. Would and will recommend him to anyone looking for a dependable mechanic.

Always honest and amazing! I understand why people are upset with the front of house staff but the mechanics have been nothing but wonderful with me. I have brought multiple vehicles here and not only do they have fair pricing but they are honest. They have shown me everything that has been fixed with my cars. They tell you how much it will cost before they start work on your car and they dont ding you for those diagnostic fees like other shops. Honestly the most honest mechanic I have ever taken my cars to. If you look at all the bad reviews they are from about a month ago and it looks like someone is making it personal because those comments are beyond hateful and definitely untrue.

Honestly and Epic Service from this repair shop. I had already gotten 2 other quotes about my power steering pump and it was about to cost me well over $1000. A friend of a friend had recommended Neil at NR auto repair so I took my mazda 2010 in for one last try. Neil lifted my car and got the mechanics to take a look. They discovered that the last mechanic had done a half ass job and all it needed was some washers and to be rebooked up. To my surprise it ended up only costing me 80$ and my car has worked like a charm ever since. THANK YOU NEIL FOR SAVING ME $1000 AND FOR BEING SO HONEST AND TRUSTWORTHY!!

Went here and was gonna hand my keys over to have some work done. Then heard the manager or owner insulting another customers car and swearing at him. Got back in my car to never return. As a community guide, i would highly reccomend avoiding this place. Go anywhere but here. This place is a giant scam. They cant fix anything at all it seems.

Neil worked hard to fix a persistent - hard to pin down - problem with my car. He kept at it until it was perfect, not charging me until it was done. All the time, while he had my car, he kept me updated and very well informed - a delightful thing for a woman who has gone through so many sexist mechanics. A+. My mechanic forever!

Open Pneumothorax

Neil was fantastic to cooperate with. I had about 6 items replaced in one go. I was mistaken about which brakes needed replacing. Neil could have told me to do all four, but rather gave an honest account of what was needed. I would certainly recommend getting your assessments here. No pressure business.

Northern Redneck

Owner was very rude to another customer making insulting comments about his car calling it ugly and telling him to leave and take his car with him as he refused to work on a multi colored car and described it as a cop magnet. I left as soon as I heard this. Do not recommend

What a great experience. Went for back brakes thinking they were gone.. they told me Im good for a while yet :) honest and fair pricing that he quoted me prior to checking my brakes. Ask for Neil. Great guy!
