I would not even give them 1star, but had to, to write this review. This is a fairly long review but please read this and hopefully avoid the disaster experience we had with this "service" provider. About 1 1/2 months to 2 months before my wife and I were to fly into Abbotsford British Columbia I had contacted CAA to enquire about a car rental company and they suggested Hertz. So I contacted the Hertz dealer in Abbotsford via online. I went in and reserved a vehicle and got a confirmation number. I did go in several times to change some of the conditions, ie., car seat, insurance. At no time did I cancel the reservation and got the same confirmation number. Two days before we were to fly out we got a final confirmation notice and a welcome to Hertz. I had made the reservation to pick up the car on the day after our arrival in Abbotsford. When I called to find out the address the person I was talking to said"we sent you an e-mail yesterday saying we wouldnt have a car for you today. When I asked when I would be getting a car this person said we wont have one for you. I was supposed to pick other family flying in that night. This person went on to say " we wont have a vehicle for you for the 2 weeks we had reserved for. I said you are telling me in the whole mainland of BC you dont have a vehicle", to which he said " No". We were looking at two weeks sitting in our hotel and missing the wedding we were there to attend. When I asked this person what I was supposed to do he very glibly said " go to another carrier ". Which we did, Enterprise, with no reservation at all we got a vehicle and ENTERPRISE staff did every thing they could to ensure we enjoyed our experience with them. I would not recommend Hertz car rental to anyone. I am going to do every thing I can to ensure CAA removes this car rental agency as a company of choice. Also every person I have had contact with from BC to Washington state, to Nova Scotia and on social networks, I informed them of our experience with this company and to not use them. I will continue to do so as I would not want anyone to go through what we did with this company. And the email they sent arrived after we were in flight. Please I implore everyone who is reading this to not use this company and to pass this information along to everyone you know and come in contact with.

this will be long with a to be continued, Dec 26, 2014, still waiting to get a rental car from this wonderful outfit, only waiting since I flew into Abbotsford Dec 24th @ 4 pm, all 3 airport agencies open with csrs past 6:30 pm, this hertz closed early,I can appreciate wanting to close early but maybe call or send an email to let me know. They dont even have a damn answering machine with a message, just rings til you hang up. My flight was missed and got another flight same day so figured my car would be there, wrong assumption. After an hour on phone, with no help from them, in Mobile, Al., I had to take a $85 cab ride to Chilliwack, my destination. Was suppose to get a call from customer service first thing this morning, 4 hours later I decided to make call, told they can do nothing I have to call the agency in Abbotsford. I did, and no answer, or answering machine with a message they are closed Boxing Day too, so after letting it ring for 20 times I knew I was carless today also, they did promise I could rent a car at todays rates, my 8 days was total $250 including taxes, their rate was approx $110 per day, Merry Christmas. So now 2 and a half days til I even hear from Hertz in Abbotsford tomorrow, and of course I will have to intiate the call, hopefully they pick up but I will be amazed if they respond to assist me, to be continued but so far the one star is so I can write this, very enjoyable way to start my visit out here, thanks hertz, for the $85 cab ride and no car, beautiful

We got a rental from Hertz when ICBC wrote our car off from an accident which we were at no fault for. The rental was covered by ICBC. Our first experience with them was fine, they picked us up from the shop, and drove us to their office, in the car that we would be renting from them. While the car was nothing great (it had dings all over it and was not a very nice drive), it was fine and got us from A to B. But, when they offered us the extra insurance coverage on the car at 13.99/day we said no because we had no idea how long we would have the rental and we were soon to be out of work, so could not afford it. My husband and I both clearly said we did not want it, so when they gave us the contract to sign and initial, I thought I was signing that I declined it. My bad that I didnt read it because it apparently said that I accepted it. So when we returned the rental, they charged us $161.00 for the coverage, and when we told them we had declined it, they showed us the form saying we accepted it and that they remember us accepting it. We fought them for five minutes on this, telling them we wouldnt have accepted because we knew we couldnt afford it, but because my initials were on the paper, they wouldnt do anything about it and the ladys words were "Im very good at my job, and I remember what happened (she was the one who rented the car to us)." Lesson learned, beware of deception. Customer satisfaction is apparently not their priority.

I almost rented from this company through ICBC because my truck was written off. That would have been a mistake. The people at this company have been nothing but rude to me all day long. I showed up the morning of my appointment to see if I could get a car on my way to work and they told me to "get out" and "come back when youre supposed to". I had an accident at work and I ended up being 30 minutes late for my appointment. I was then refused a rental after getting into an argument with the girl because I had been late. Its not worth the trouble to rent from this place. Go rent from Clearway, their cars are in better shape, theyre much friendlier, and much easier to deal with :)

Hertz used to be a good company , but since Hertz hired bad apples is going down. I rented a car in Abbotsford location because my wife had a car accident. First, the car gave to us was unsafely because the tires were really bad tread, and I called them several times to get better car and never get a car exchange. Secondly, an employee called us that we were responsible to pay because ICBC does not want to be responsible. I want to educate those people because according to law, ICBC is responsible to pay my rent car until my car is fix it. Also, they do not the mean of customer services.
