We moved to Fort McMurray three and a half years ago. Upon our arrival here, we were in need of a new vehicle. Our son recommended we go see Shawn Pilgrim at AMP as thats who he had dealt with to buy his vehicle. We were looking for a mid size truck. I really liked a white Avalanche that was in the showroom but it was already sold. Shawn worked tirelessly to get the exact one I wanted from another deanship in Alberta. He was so good to work with and kept us in the loop during the whole process. He negotiated with us until we reached a monthly payment that we were comfortable with as I was unemployed and my husband was off work due to illness at that particular time. Everything went very smoothly with all aspects of the purchase including the financial piece, which was handled by Allison MacNeill. On pick up day both Shawn and Allison ensured that we knew everything possible about our new truck. We initially had an issue with our On Star set up. Even though it wasnt her responsibility, Allison spent quite a long time with me trying to get it all straightened out. That was very much appreciated. Shawn continued to follow up with us after the purchase including sending us Christmas cards. Any time I visited the establishment and he saw me, he would also inquire how my husband was doing and always stopped by to chat about my vehicle and to see if I found the service okay and that I wasnt experiencing any problems. Also, Ive bumped into Allison several times in the community and she always remembered me and stopped to chat and ask how we were doing. Its refreshing to have this kind of contact especially when these individuals are dealing with so many people but they still remember you. We would definitely want to deal with Shawn again if and when were in the market for another vehicle. Were sure that all salespeople at AMP are just as knowledgeable as Shawn but when you have a top-notch experience with someone you want to stick with them. This excellent service with AMP continued after the purchase and still continues, three years later. We have had nothing only exemplary and professional service from all departments that we have dealt with. Our routine service checks are hassle free. Weve dealt with the tire department and have had no issues with them and weve also death with the body shop on a couple of occasions and have no issues with them either. We have had no problems with getting appointments that fit our schedules and on two occasions we have had to avail of courtesy vehicles. We have also used their People Moving service. All employees in each of these departments are very professional and courteous. We had a good relationship with our GM dealer back in Newfoundland before we moved so it is very comforting to have an equal or better relationship with a dealer here in Fort McMurray. We are sure hoping that all remains as is now that the dealership has changed owners. It would be such a shame if anything at all changed there. Being a Facebook user, Ive read many a rant about other local dealerships but Im very pleased and relieved to report that Ive yet to read such rants about AMP. AMP Fort McMurray could well be a model for how to run a business and definitely a prime example of how to treat customers. Our son, his girlfriend, our daughter, and son-in-law all have GM vehicles, three of which were purchased at AMP. We will all continue to be loyal customers as long as the new owners ensure and continue the high level of service that has been offered to Fort McMurray over the years as Alberta Motor Products. Its important to remember that after the purchase SERVICE is EVERYTHING!! Good luck to the new owners. You have big shoes to fill. Wanda & Martin Baker

I purchased a used Avalanche from the dealership, formerly know as "AMP", now Summit GM. I was fortunate enough to get Shawn Pilgrim as a sales rep. Shawn was very patient and informative with me during the process. I asked about a thousand questions and never once did I feel like I was being rushed or that my questions werent valid. Shawn explained all the steps that were involved from the first test drive all the way through to the delivery of the truck, I was always well informed. Shawn also made a point to periodically phone me over the next couple of years to see how things were going and if the truck was still treating me well. This is how you maintain a loyal customer base, make them feel appreciated. I had previoously purchased vehicles from other dealerships in town, but their product and customer service (or lack thereof) ensured that the vehicle purchase was the first and last time I would buy from them. Going forward, I will only look to purchase through Shawn as I know Ill get the best service I could hope for. Its a good thing he is with GM as I get both the best product available and the best in customer service. I always pass Shawns name along for anyone I know looking to buy a vehicle.

In 2010, needing a new vehicle I phoned Phil at Alberta Motor Products. I told her that I needed a safe reliable vehicle as I would be spending a lot of time on the road and putting on considerable kilometers. I gave her an indication of hours I would be spending in the vehicle, the average kilometers that I would log in a month and the condition of some of the roads I would be travelling. In addition to safety and reliability, I also would want a vehicle that was comfortable. I also told her the preferred color. A couple of weeks later I travelled to Ft. McMurray to pick up my new Chevrolet Silverado and Phil had everything ready. The vehicle was in the Barn. It was cleaned, gassed up and licensed. The only thing left was to key in all the settings I wanted, set up On-star and Bluetooth and this was done with a great mix of professionalism and downhome humor. Phil took all the time I needed to get on the road. That was six years and 475,000 kilometers ago. I now find myself in the position of thinking I should replace this vehicle. I can assure you that I will be contacting Phil and visiting her at Summit GM.

I purchased a truck last spring at (formerly) Alberta Motor Products, now Summit. I came in to check things out as I had miserable service at another dealership in town. I had a rough idea of what I was looking for in a truck and met up with Shawn Pilgrim in the lot and got to chatting. He helped set me up with exactly what I wanted and nothing else, no pressure or the stereotypical "car salesman" tactics from him, or anybody there for that matter. Very relaxed environment, almost like everyone is your buddy. I had to wait a short time for my truck to show up as they didnt have the options I wanted on the lot and Shawn kept me in the loop and made sure it was all up to par before handing over the keys to me. I couldnt be happier with my truck and I am greatful things didnt work out at the first place I went to!! Beyond the sales side of things, so far getting my truck serviced there has been a breeze and Im always in and out nice and quickly. An overall pretty great experience and should I find myself in the market to upgrade my truck or maybe get another toy I will 100% be going back.
