In short: I 100% recommend Standfast Auto Repair. The owners have outstanding commitment to being honest, fair and upfront with their customers. In long: They replaced my power steering pump in the fall. A couple weeks later, my car started filling with smoke and my battery would die while driving. I returned to the shop and they troubleshot it for a couple days at no cost to me. I paid to replace my battery (which had frozen over night after dying on the drive) and the fan blower motor but the problem persisted. Again they troubleshot the problem for a full day and they finally found that a small O-ring on the power steering pump was defective and leaking in the extreme cold. The fluid would leak onto the alternator leading to the smoke, and short out the alternator, thereby killing the battery. The shop acknowledged the faulty part as the issue and fully repaired my vehicle with a new power steering pump. In addition, Standfast Auto refunded in full all the costs associated with the new battery and fan blower motor. I cant say enough good things about how honest and fair Standfast Auto conducted their business with me. Furthermore, that they were able to find the small intermittent leak on the power steering pump gives me great confidence in their ability to diagnose problems. I highly recommend this auto repair shop.

Paul is a very competent and honest mechanic. I brought my 2001 Chevy Silverado pickup in with a slow coolant leak. I had looked all over, from top to bottom, to find it. I finally traced a trail of antifreeze leading up to the joint between the left head and the block (a head gasket leak?). I asked several shops for estimates. They were all in the $2,000 range. Paul did a very thorough search and found a slow leak from an OEM spring clamp on a heater hose. I had searched that same area, but didn’t detect it. He repaired the leak, pressure tested it to ensure it was properly fixed and charged me an hour’s labour plus parts (minor). What a relief! I’m sure other shops could/might have changed head gaskets (or said they did) and charged me the $2,000 and I would have been none the wiser. Any more service work I require will be done here, and I will recommend him to others. Thanks, Paul!

Be aware. I took my truck to this guy when I was trying to sell it, buyer wanted a last minute inspection done at 4pm on a Friday. They took the truck in did the inspection in half an hour. Told me my tailgate didnt work- I unlocked and proved it opened to him. Told the buyer the Air conditioner didnt work- he must have tested it with the heat cranked (its minus 22). Tested the air conditioning and max. Air conditioning with the buyer to show it worked, turned the heat down to the lowest setting before turning a/c and it threw out cold air immediately. Also states fluids werent kept up to date when I had a full tune up 6 months ago at Ford and have had oil changed and fluids checked since then. This Family man is trying to scam a young girl who he thinks doesnt know any better after hes tired from his staff Christmas party the previous night.

This place is AWFUL! STAY AWAY! I got a call from the police at 4 am because they moved my car onto the street! When trying to resolve the issue the owner was not only rude, but hung up on me multiple times when trying to resolve it sticking me with a beyond $160 towing bill! They just left my car on the street and didnt even call! Worst service EVER !

Beware of these guys. Their prices are higher than every ones!! I needed front brakes and rotors on my car and I got a quote of $610. After shopping around I actually got the same work done for $284. That includes installation, shop fees, and GST.

Very personal small time shop feel. Doesnt seem to be a rip off, I know Ive felt done wrong by bigger shops but I think that is just an honest family operation trying to do right by its clients. I very openly recommend standfast and its workers.

Paid a small fortune for them to repair my truck. They didnt fix it. Said they had a specialist check it out and everything. I called the specialist myself and he never ever seen the truck. Beware!! Smooth talkers!
