I rented a car from them in September. Lady at reception is nice. Car inside was smelly and in bad condition. Second day, had a flat tyre. When I called the owner, he couldnt come and offered to pay for the repair and asked me to look for a repair shop but gave me a budget. Have to mention I was new to Calgary and didnt know the town. Was it really for me to do that? Ended spending half a day looking for a repair shop in the neighbourhood. Couldnt find one for the price he mentioned, I got back to the Rent a wreck, showed the owner that the tyre was in a really bad shape in the first place. Owner changed the car but I asked for a discount as I had wasted 1/2 day of rent. The owner said no. According to him, I should have noticed the state of the tyre when I took the car. I said that her employer, whose job it is to look after their car and notice anything unusual, had not noticed the defect herself. What should have I noticed it? It is not my job. Settling in Calgary with my family, looking for a house, a car, registering my kids to their new school, I had other fish to fry. We agree to disagree. If I had known, I wouldnt have chosen this company. The difference in price is just not worth all the hastle. Id also like to say that the owner was a little condescending in the end. His car is immaculate, inside and ouside, which is far from the car that we rented. I wouldnt recommend this company.

This is the best place to rent a car. I was over here last month. I needed compact car but they gave me full size car at the price of the compact car. Car was in very good condition and very well maintained. Staff is very much friendly and they treated me very well. What i liked most about this location is price . You can get very cheap rental from over here as compared to other rental companies. I strongly recommend this place to everyone.

I love renting from rent-a-wreck on 42nd ave SW! Ive been renting from them for 4 years and theyre always super friendly and go above and beyond to accommodate my needs. The cars are always decent and affordable, and theyre not a hassle to rent from like the major rental companies. Friendly, personable & affordable- what more can you ask for? Call them!
