Customer service was good at first, both Vera and Jennifer were friendly and attentive. HOWEVER, people should know about my NOT so pleasant experience. After speaking with Terry for about an hour, we are now hopeful that our dissatisfaction will be rectified in the near future. Prior to towing my 1979 VW Westfalia bus to them, I was referred by another mechanic about their specialization in Westfalia, then I read more about their reviews online, I felt little bit comfortable. I spoke with Vera over the phone, telling her about my westy issue, fuel leak and motor oil leak and wanting to do a complete fuel line replacement and Vera suggested that may require Evop. replacement as well. She sounded technical enough, and recently did a complete restoration, so I felt comfortable towing my westy there. When I got there, both Jennifer and Vera insisted that in order to replace the fuel line, they would need to run a inspection which I got quoted for $130, but they said the comprehensive report ($280) would do part of the fuel line inspection and will look at the engine as well. I thought the comprehensive report would be able to tell me something that I didnt know, especially it is still with the original engine. 2 days later, the comprehensive result did not just tell what I already knew all the issues about the westy, the worst thing was they COULD NOT even tell me where the fuel line is leaking and would require secondary smoke inspection for another $200!!!! I told Vera that all I wanted to do before was replacing all fuel lines and the Evop system, then I got lured into another scam about the additional works that I didnt require. If the report was adding value at the end, I would be happy to pay for the time, but they were only able to tell me something that I already knew. After communicating my dissatisfaction with the service, Vera tried to speak with her manager about waiving the cost of the inspection report and going ahead to change the fuel link and tank as previously discussed. Sadly, the answer was NO, because they spent 2 hours??? Subsequently I have discussed my dissatisfaction with Terry for about an hour. Terry seemed to understand that his staff may have encouraged a "comprehensive inspection" to be conducted when it would not provide further insight into my need to replace all fuel lines and the Evop system. Terry also seemed concerned about customer satisfaction by suggesting options and inquiring what we wanted to rectify our dissatisfaction. Terry has waived the cost of the "comprehensive report" and we are hopeful that the replacement of the fuel lines and the Evop system will be completed effectively, within budget, and in a timely fashion.

I have been going to North Hill Auto for a number of years now. Most of the time, their service to me has been top notch, without any negative issues. I am always on the go, and I need my vehicles to be functional all the time. I cannot afford to have my vehicle unexpectedly out of commission. And they have helped me to do that. On the odd occasion, we have had issues where I had something go wrong after the service call. However, every time those issues have been dealt with in a professional and timely manner, without any unnecessary extra charges added. I trust the entire staff completely with the care of our vehicles. They consistently give me accurate estimates, and look out for my interests. I drive an older vehicle, so they look for parts that are appropriate to the age of my vehicle if I am being price sensitive. But they always give me the choice. Keeping them as my go to autoshop has also worked in my favour as different warranty work comes up. They know when parts have been under warranty, and deal with any after the fact issues in a very reasonable fashion. I consider the staff at North Hill Auto to be part of my extended family....they look after me and my vehicles, they are out for my best interest (not their bottom line), and they are on my side. I do not hesitate to heartily recommend them to all my friends and family.

I took a car in for a pre-purchase inspection. They checked the Air Conditioning and said it was working, when I went to use the A/C 2 weeks later it was not. I took the car into the Toyota dealership and they concluded that the A/C was not "charged" and there was no leaks in the A/C system... this proves that the A/C was not working at the time of the pre-purchase inspection. When I phoned North Hill they refused to do anything about it, very disappointing will not be going back again, especially because they missed such a simple check.

I find North Hill Auto to be very reliable and thorough in their work. I keep coming back to them because they are professional in what they do. Just had a pre-purchase inspection done on a vehicle and they went through it top to bottom. They are AMA approved so their vehicle inspections cover over 100 points.
