I chose Fix Auto as it is part of the Heninger family where we bought our FJ in 2008 and have all service done there regularly. Up front everyone was a pleasure to deal with through the estimate to scheduling, ordering parts and drop off. From there, all down hill. They swore to me up and down (in person, on phone and in emails) that if I dropped my 2008 FJ Cruiser off for a relatively minor job (bumper, light and tire cover) they would fix it Thursday and deliver it to Heninger Toyota Service (next door) early AM Friday ( for a $1000 annual service appointment we had made there months in advance) and we would be good to pick up at the Service Centre after 4 PM Friday May 19 as we required the vehicle for a trip over the May long weekend. When we arrived at Heninger Service Friday to pick up our vehicle as planned they had no record of it ever arriving from Fix Auto. I was advised to go to Fix Auto for an explanation. I was told by Doug (Manager) that on Thursday they discovered additional damage beyond the appraisal (back-up sensor failure) and had spent two days trying to contact the third party (who caused the accident and paid up front the full appraisal repair amount as their business requires) to secure additional funds before proceeding. At NO TIME Thursday or Friday did ANYONE from Fix Auto contact my Wife or I (by phone, text or email) to inform up of the development nor did they even contact their business partner Heninger Service who were expecting the truck for an all day service appointment on Friday (which we now must also reschedule) . Instead they spent their time trying to shake the third party down for more money to fix the back up sensor (which had they called us to inform us of the developments we could have told them it has not worked in 5 years and we are too honest to pin $600 more dollars on the third party). I am not even sure what they thought our family would do for the May long weekend (they were closing in an hour) without our vehicle - guess they each have fleets of vehicles at their disposal. As they were anticipating further work our vehicle was not intact and not cleaned (as the third party paid for); when my wife asked if they had a vehicle for our family and dogs to take our long weekend trip as planned for months Doug said they did not. I demanded they get our vehicle back together so we could keep our weekend plans and an hour later the bumper was back on our dirty truck and we were on our way! I was angry and voiced it - I think most reasonable people would do the same. What I got for my troubles from Doug was a lecture on terms and conditions, hushed on a couple of occasions, and ZERO explanation on why no one notified us for two days AND why their fantastic automated email progress system (which I kept checking) was only updated when I dropped the vehicle off Wednesday and not since. When we returned in an hour to get the vehicle conveniently everyone was nowhere to be found except the new Lady Chelsea who I suspect drew the short straw. We were given NOTHING for our troubles - not an explanation, apology, coffee card...zero! Before you dismiss us as two of "those" people who are never happy with anything know this - we are well educated professionals with high level jobs in Energy and Education who respect the time and expertise of those with whom we do business. We have left multiple Google reviews for many businesses that have served us and to the best of my knowledge this is the first one not a 5. This entire mess could have been avoided with ONE call or email Thursday (when the issue was discovered) or even Friday...we are reasonable people and would have worked something out! I am beginning to think that in Calgary it is too much to ask that someone do their job and meet their commitments!

I was recently had the unfortunate event of someone hitting my vehicle while my son was driving. This in itself was bad enough, what made it worse is that my son had just dropped us off at the airport for a trip to Hawaii! I did a quick search on my phone and found Heninger Collision Center. I talked to a very friendly girl named Virginia. The first question she asked me was “ is everyone ok”, WOW! She explained that their long term employees would ensure that my car was fixed backed to the way it was before the accident and that she just hoped that no one was hurt in the accident. She told me we could leave the car safe and sound at their lot and they would put my son in one of their courtesy cars until we returned. Virginia was so nice and we were at the airport so I called my son back and told him to take the car to Heninger and I left for Hawaii with my mind at ease. Once I returned, I filed a claim with my insurance and was told someone would be calling me back. After not hearing anything from my insurance for almost a week, I called the shop to see if they had heard anything. I talked to the manager Scott Lavery and he said he would get the ball rolling for me. The insurance company came out the next day. Thanks Scott! Once the insurance person looked at the vehicle, Scott gave me a call back and went over the estimate with me line for line and explained the repair, I was a bit concerned as my car is less than a year old and it is a Mitsubishi. Scott explained that they fix all kinds of cars, not just Toyotas. Once again, my mind was put at ease and I was told my car would be ready by the following Friday. Imagine my surprise when Virginia called on Wednesday to say they were ahead of schedule and my car would be ready on Thursday. When I got to Heninger , I was really surprised, the last bodyshop I was in was a dark dingy hole in the wall. Heninger was neat and clean and everyone was so friendly. Not only did they do a fantastic job on my rear fender, the fixed another scratch we had for free . I can’t see where the damage was and the paint matches perfect! If you need to get your baby fixed, give these guys a try, you won’t be disappointed. Thanks Virginia, Scott and your great mechanics.

I was rear ended in an accident 2 years ago and went to Heninger to have my repaired. The rear end of my car was hit pretty hard and a lot of repairs needed to be done. My muffler needed to be replaced as well. My car was repaired and everything was all well and good until a week ago when I started hearing what I thought was my muffler bouncing around underneath my car. I took it to Country Hills Toyota who looked at it and said that part of my exhaust was rubbing up against my fuel tank. They also said that the replacement muffler was not attached properly and had come loose and that the bent exhaust was from my accident as there was no way the pipe would be pushed back and bent the way it was from driving alone. They even took pictures to show me and said I should take it back to Heninger. So I took my car back to Heninger who looked at it and told me I had hit something. This is a LIE. I have not hit or run over anything. I have never even bottomed out my car. They provided shoddy initial work and refuse to take responsibility for it. Regular driving, without running over anything does not suddenly cause an exhaust to bend a good 6 inches so its hitting my fuel tank. Then when I went to pick up my car, the invoice read: Condition: Exhaust pushed back and hitting the fuel the tank causing noise. Cause: Evidence of the rear being hit and pushing the exhaust out of place. Not related to previous repair 2 yrs ago. This is also ANOTHER LIE! The ONLY time I was rear ended was 2 yrs ago. There isnt even a scratch on my bumper. The mechanics at this location are LIARS. Also, there was apparently a waiting list for a courtesy car, so I didnt get one. And the receptionist was arguing with me by trying to tell me I was "rear-ended again". News to me. I do not recommend Heninger whatsoever, and will not take my car to them again. In fact, I dont think I would buy another Toyota either.
