Worst customer service – booked an intermediate car online and when we went to pick it up, it was very busy and there was only one person at the desk. We wanted to make sure the car was big enough for three people, so we asked if the car was a four-door intermediate car. The guy told us it was, but when we went to get the car, it was a two-door Volkswagen. We had to go back to the office to get this fixed – the whole process of picking up the car at the rental office took us almost an hour. The car we rented (Nissan) was fine for the most part, except it had cracking noises when we were on the highway to Lake Louise (probably because it was very windy). When we returned the car in the evening, we forgot to take our rear-view mirror that we had attached over the actual rear-view mirror, so I called Avis first thing the next morning. The car had already gone to the airport for servicing so they told me they would ask the manager there to check. They told me they couldn’t find the mirror, which means either one of their staff took it or they didn’t check properly because the mirror is attached to the built-in rear-view mirror. I called Avis every single day to follow up, but the car was soon rented out until this past weekend. So I waited until it was returned, called Avis again, only to get the same reply – they will ask the manager and get back to me. But no one follows up and I was also told that I am not allowed to check the car myself. The car is probably being rented again so even if I keep trying, I will just be going in circles. It is a very frustrating process and even though it was my fault for forgetting to take the clip-on rear-view mirror, customer service at this location certainly needs more improvement. Make sure you don’t forget anything in the car, because it surely cannot be retrieved.

I wish I could give Avis a ZERO! After being tugged around on rates, they said that they had a reservation for a truck available. I got there and they were like, "oh yeah the truck wont be available for another hour as we are awaiting for it to return." I took a Chrysler 300s and was charger 25$ more a day as it is considered a luxury vehicle. i took it because I needed a vehicle at the time. Fast forward to drop off. I did not have time to fill the car up as I needed to get to work. THEY CHARGED ME $140 DOLLARS FOR A HALF OF A TANK.... Are you kidding me? Its $.87 a liter down the street and they charge $3.80. I will NEVER use Avis ever again and if any of my family or friends use them I will throat punch them... Jest HORRIBLE.

We were returning our car at this location and while we had no problems with the service at this place, the parking/return situation is completely unclear. For everyones benefit, the return process is driving to the 7th floor of an Impact parking lot which is on 10 Ave. When you pass AVIS, take the first right and follow signs for Impact parking. Its on your right hand side. Drive up to 7th floor (7E) and the central parking space has reserved spots for AVIS. Take your keys and parking ticket and return to the office. No clear directions exist, so a bit annoyed by that.

This is possibly the worst car rental company/branch on the face of the earth. I made a reservation for noon, showed up at 12:15 and they made me sit and wait until 1:30 pm until they gave me a car. Accidentally forgot to fill up the tank and was charged almost $200.00 for 40 L of gas. This car was returned on a Sunday night, when the rental was good until Monday at 1pm, so a simple phone call and some common courtesy would have saved that charge. Tried to give zero stars, but couldnt.

Wow, I see everyone else feels the same way about Avis. They charged me $29 Euros without sending me any documentation relating to a traffic violation, then they want to charge me $29 Euros again , this time sending me a traffic violation notice. What horrible customer service. AVIS Europe, United States, Canada, I dont care. IM NEVER renting from AVIS again, and strongly recommend you dont either. If I could give a ZERO I would.

No backup for out of hours drop off. No signage at office for parking location. 24 hour call number not responded to. Apparently Avis dont think 24/7 service is needed. Central reservations had no info beyond it being possible to drop off. Turns out you need to use the 7th floor of a paid car park in the block behind. No signage there until you hit about the second level. Not good enough. Will avoid Avis where possible now

I wish I could give the zero stars! Worst Avis ever. We arrived 5 minutes before opening, a group of 5 and we asked for washrooms, weve been told that they are still closed. Then we made reservations in advance but we couldnt pay in advance in order to get a lower rate, then when they finally opened we been charged the full rate. I wouldnt recommend this location to anyone.

Twice I was stuck in their parkade with something they wanted filled out via pen, and there was no pen provided for after hours drop-off, or available in the car. After returning the car the fuel gauge was 1/32nd (yeah I took a picture and figured it out) from full, and they charged me $26 ($10 less than it cost to fill the car) for the gas. Wont be using them again.

Worst car rental place in Calgary. Cars are old, no bluetooth, no heated seats, no snow tires, gas not even full. Poor service with no knowledgeable staff and they dont tell you where your car is inside a 8 level garage. They will nickel and dime you on everything including any tiny scratches and returning late by 5 minutes. Go rent from National or Hertz instead.

As a traveller to Calgary it is impossible to have a relaxed handover of your vehicle on arrival because the shop front isnt a parking place and the actual drop off point is around the block in the multi storey car park. Not publicised. Avis also gave me an American car with MPH to drive in Canada and Im from the UK. So thanks for that too.

The quality of the fleet (overall pretty new, the choice of makes and models) and the cleanliness and the appearance of the vehicles. The vehicles are always well cleaned. The location office is neat and professionally set up. The return and pick-up procedures are quiet clear and smooth. The staff are professional.

When I pick up the car on Aug.23 the guy of customers service was careless and very slow. No information or help how to get the car from 7 floor parking. However, when I returned the car on Aug. 25 on afternoon the guy was careful, polite and helpful. I wouldnt recommend it if you met the guy who mentioned first.

Girl at the counter did not seem to know what she was doing. We asked to confirm if our rental would seat 5, as the website we booked through indicated it would. She then told us no, tried to upsell an SUV, only to have us find out the car would seat 5. Seemed like a money grab.
