Reserved my rental ahead of time, and after getting off the plane it was a very quick and easy process in signing and reviewing the paperwork I needed to get in the car and go. The car I rented was a newer Hyundai Elantra with unlimited km. Returning the car was just as nice and easy. I did not sign up for paying for the tank to be filled at drop off (I was going to do it myself), but after not seeing a gas station on the way to the airport, I brought back the car with a quarter tank of gas left. The women who came to inspect the car made it very easy for me to just pay for the amount of gas I needed to fill up the car with the card they had for me on file. Thats not the best part! After going through customs and already waiting by the gate for my flight, I realized my phone had been left in the center console of the rental car. I quickly rushed to a pay phone to make sure the staff at Avis knew my phone had been left in the car. I spoke with Patrick for about 20 minutes, part of which I was put on hold while he checked with other staff to make sure the phone was where it needed to be. Patrick was very knowledgeable in helping me figure out who I should call and if it was found and what steps they should take regarding shipping. I told them to just mail it asap to my billing address for the credit card they had on file. When I arrived in the states, I did have to leave a couple messages with the lost and found department and never received a call back. This morning (the next day), my phone had been overnight shipped to my billing address. Needless to say I am very impressed with the company and the staff working at the time of my (minor) crisis! I would love to go through them again the next time I am at the Calgary Airport.

Exceptionnal service at arrival but only two points little négative My type of car reservation was not available at pickup location time and they offer me two choice , first a little more car size for same price and the second one an SUV with more expensive fees. The ladie at counter make me a little reduction daily fees but I think I have not to pay extra dollars for upgrading by missing car size availability t their desk for my reservation done since a month before as per my reservation. The SUV received was on the other side greatfull to drive an confort Inside. The second point is they forgot to tell me wich type of fuel fill the SUV. On the SUV body and inside it was written everywhere E85 Flex fuel and almost no gas station have it in Calgary. I have to call AVIS rental location to ask wich type of gas and they answer me fast for unleaded anytype. For the pleasure to drive this type of vehicule, it was greatfull but expensive on rental fees and gas consumption.

Horrible! They take advantage of unforeseen circumstances. On our travels back to the Calgary Airport last week there was a major collision on the highway bringing traffic to a complete standstill. I called ahead to Avis to let them know we were running late and therefore unable to refuel our rental vehicle. I was assured Avis was aware of the accident and refuelling would not be an issue. Sure, no issue at $3.80 per litre. We dropped our rental and ran across to check where we were inform that we made the check in with three minutes to spare. Avis charged $289.18 to refuel my rental (fuel cost was $0.94/litre at the time) What other choice did we have at time? Refuel our rental or miss our flight.... They take advantage, this fuel charge was more than the standard rental charge for the week. I spoke with Avis head office and the gracious offered to adjust the fuel cost to $2.80/litre. Youve lost my business.

Dishonest service rep at the counter!! My personal experience with AVIS YYC location is very bad when it comes to lost and found. I left my sunglasses in the rental car. I went back to the Avis Counter after an hour ago. Service reps at the counter said that car was at service centre, but someone from service centre told me that car was already send back to AVIS YYC location. I waited at AVIS YYC location for couple hours, there were only two guys at the counter, actually one of them gave that car to another customer while I was just sitting back there and waiting, they all denied ever seeing that car, but I am sure one of service rep lied to my face. (I called AVIS at downtown Calgary to get that rental car information) When it comes to lost and found. This is truely a LOST Department. There was nothing they would do. Called and left a message. Good bye, they dont want to see you anymore.

Unable to get the car booked and paid for online. After 4 hours of waiting two managers have managed to break the deadlock. In summary: incompetent and rude staff. Choose another agency !!! I flew into Calgary and had never rented a car before personally, although I had been with others renting previously. My car was reserved as a mid-size sedan. When I walked out to my car I could not believe the condition it was in, much nicer than any rental I have ever seen before, not just a base model, a sport model 2016 Chrysler 300 with 1000 kms. I was excited to drive the car and shocked at the bargain price for it. When I was returning the car, I was running late and didnt have a chance to fill up with fuel, so I called on my way in and the surcharge for Avis to re-fuel was very fair rate, I was extremely pleased. I will be using Avis again in the future I am certain.

We totally loved our experience with Avis at Calgary airport. We arrived at night when all the systems were down. The agents stayed calm while filling out all applications by hand. It was slow and our agent could not find a suitable rental for us so he upgraded us at no extra cost. Also, when booking we could not return our car to the airport since we were leaving early and they were not open. I mentioned this and our agent suggest we callback later and they would help us. Sure enough, when I called another pleasant helpful agent changed our reservation so we could return to a Dropbox at the airport saving us time and frustration! Love ,Love Avis

Bad service. The Rep Rajeev had bad attitude when he could not convince me to upgrade to a Mustang from a mid size car. Dropped the key on the counter instead handed it to me. He didnt even tell me what time I need to to bring back the car, fill up the tank, etc. Then, on the day before my return date, I had questions if I can return the car an hour later, so I called Avis, Davis picked up the phone simply said yes, then just hung up the phone. I called second time because I didnt even have time to ask if I would get charge more. Davis picked up my call again, but this time he hung up the phone when I just said my name.
