***RESPONSE: I would just like to re-iterate to Auto Temp that my husband was able to fix the issue using a Google search, $5 ground wire and an hour of his time. Something that your incapable technicians were unable to figure out in their hour of assessment. We paid you $90 to figure out what the problem was. You were UNABLE to figure it out and instead provided us with a quote for a whole new system at the cost of $1,200. It was completely unnecessary work as ours works perfectly fine and WOULDNT have even solved the problem! YOUR guys are the ones who suggested using inferior products made for car audio systems instead the industry standard of Marine Grade products (which is what WE have). The only corrosion we have is on two screws which is easily traded out for non-corrosive screws. We would have no doubt had more issues if we had put in your technicians suggestion of car audio audio parts. AND it would have been a complete waste of money given our whole system works FINE! Again, the issue was the ground wire - NOT our system and this was something your technicians DIDNT even looked at! The reason we did not get back to you until 2 weeks after your dishonest assessment, was that we were on a boating trip listening to our PERFECTLY working system that cost a total of $5 to repair! Also I would like to point out that head office was in no way part of the transaction either so I am not sure why they would try to discredit me for speaking on behalf my husband and a boat I own while he was able to speak on behalf of his staff at another location. When I did interrupt during our discussion, it was due to the fact that he continued to make errors in what he was talking about - the issue was the ground wire NOT our system, our boat IS marine grade though YOUR guys suggested switching over to CAR AUDIO, and the only corrosion we have have is two screws with MINOR surface rust (not even an issue to the system). Bottom line is your staff were incapable of figuring out the issue and even if wed followed their advise to purchase lower grade products and spent the $1,200, it still would have NOT FIXED the issue as it was THE GROUND WIRE! Something easily figured out by GOOGLING the issue. Either your technicians are incompetent or tried to completely rip us off. Their assessment was COMPLETELY INACCURATE and we felt we were owed our money back. Not sure how you can justify still charging people for COMPLETELY INACCURATE ASSESSMENTS. Your assessment also DID NOT guarantee a fix to our problem (the whole reason we went in) and we are so thankful we did not spend $1,200 on all the products your technicians suggested or we would have been out that money as well as our $90. It is shocking Auto Temp has no problem taking thousands of dollars from clients and NOT fixing the issue they came in with. Deplorable business practice I wanted people to be made aware of. I made no threats but simply stated I would be posting this on review sites and reporting Auto Temp to the Better Business Bureau as I want to warn people to be aware of your shoddy business practices. Though, Im not surprised you find it to be threatening to have possible clients made aware of your incompetence and dishonesty. ORIGINAL POST: These guys are either completely incompetent or scam artists. Spent $89 on an assessment of an interference issue on the speaker. Ended up with a quote for a whole NEW system ($1,200) AND they COULDNT even guarantee the problem would be gone!!!! The diagnosis was COMPLETELY wrong to fix the issue and would have been money WASTED! Paul, from head office,stood behind his employees quote of $1,200 even though he also said it wouldnt have guaranteed a fix to the problem (which is the whole reason for the assessment). Paul also offered no apology for their employees lack of etiquette with leaving the keys in the boat and giving no thank you after they were returned and simply blew it off as a "character flaw".

NOT A PLACE I WOULD RECOMMEND. I have been to the 42nd Ave SE, Calgary Autotemp to fix a Viper remote starter. From the beginning I was under the impression that their main concern was how to charge the $85+ diagnostic fee. They kept my car for a bit over an hour and then they told me that my whole system has to be rewired because: 1. somehow the firmware of my system updated itself to a new version that it is no longer compatible with my car; 2. the Smart Start system I have installed on my car is not working in Canada as it is a USA part. Now, I would have probably bought the first one ( although the person at the front desk admitted that the system cannot update itself and the only place I have been to fix the remote starter is at this location), if not for the fact that I have used the Smart Start system right here in Calgary. So, I am convinced that they had no clue on how to fix my starter and they made up some bogus reasons only to be able to charge me the "diagnostic" fee.

Recently had a really positive buying experience from AutoTemp. The team there was very knowledgeable and took the time to ask engaging questions in an effort to fully understand my desires from a new sound system in my car. They made an excellent recommendation and were able to accommodate and schedule me in a timely manner. Install was done quick, and communication was very impressive (greater than normal). Im very satisfied with the overall product received and they did an excellent job with the installation - very clean, no visible wires, everything was done very professionally. A+++, would recommend! Halogen headlights were blown so they installed H ID bulbs in my aftermarket headlamps. However they failed to mention that my headlight adjustment screws were not operational and the HIDs were pointing straight down 20 feet in front of the car.I never wouldve upgraded the HIDs had I known I would have 20 feet of vision in front of the truck. They should have told me I needed entirely new headlamps before they upsold me to HID bulbs. And then the owner has the nerve to tell me that when they install HID bulbs they dont check the alignment, so they had not realized the adjuster was not working. Come on! Any idiot knows thats a lie.

Don pick up my first call . He was very nice very good price.I put after market heated seat. WOW job was done so good. Shane was helping me out at the store. He was helping me out seamlessly . I like to give koodoo for all employee at this location. Pick up was also very nice . Tim was very friendly explain to me from A TO Z They put my heated sit switch in middle console without any charge( $140 value) Thank you so much . Thank you so much for all help. I will recommend all my friend circle to do the job at this location.

Got a Viper remote starter with rear defroster installed. There have been two problems. Rear defroster did not work. Had to go back and get it fixed. A few months later remote starter stopped working all together. Had to go back again, a fuse blown. Not happy about multiple problems and going back. But, the Autotemp service was very good. They gave me quick appointments and fixed the problem and explained the issue. Keeping my fingers crossed for the future. But I would recommend Autotemp for their service.
