I went to Alta West Auto because I had bad credit and they seemed like pretty decent, honest people. I was wrong. I was sold a 2010 Hyundai Elantra with about 145-145k KM on it, With a Car proof that was dated in December of the previous year (2014) and I bought the car about 4 months into 2015. I was told the car was in great shape, nothing was wrong and that at first my interest would be high ( which is to be expected with bad credit) but that in 6 months, I could get it lowered to about 7.5 %, which was great news. Here is what happened. 3 months into owning my car, I felt the transmission slip. At first I figured that maybe it was just cold or low on fluid. So I checked my fluid and it was black and had a burnt smell. ( Transmission fluid should be red and not smell burnt) At this time, I didnt have a lot of money nor did I have means of getting any to cover the cost of the transmission. I then remembered that I paid a little over 1500 for insurance that I was told covered my driveshaft including seals and gaskets. So I called my warranty company that they gave me, Global Warranty, and they told me to take it to "Quality Transmission" to get it fixed and they would cover it, so I did. Not only did that company put an old transmission in my car, but my warranty didnt cover most of the costs!! I ended up paying 400 out of my own pocket, for something that I was told would be covered! and to top that off, I was told at quality transmission that if I left the lot and something didnt work, it wasnt covered and I would have to go through my transmission company. Completely unacceptable. My Advice to you is, if you have bad credit or not and you want a car. If Alta west is your only option, take the bus.

NEVER AGAIN!!! We bought a used Ford Explorer in 2014. We were looking for a reliable 4x4 and were willing to pay more just to be sure that we would have a peace of mind at least for a while - thats what we told the salesman (I think his name was ceasar). He told us that the car does not have any issues and is what we are looking for. We, not knowing nothing about cars, took it to a few test drives and didnt recognize any issues. The shifting was a little rough, but this was our first automatic car, our first 4x4 and also our first car this size. As naive as we were, we believed the guy that the car is alright...assuming that the dealership would care about their reputation. Long story short - the transmission failed 6 months later, the coolant was leaking after a few months (maybe fixed temporarily), we needed a new gasket inlet etc. etc. we later saw that the hood has been repainted as it started to crack. The salesman told us, before we bought the car, that we could come back with any issues - guess what, we tried once and they didnt want to hear about it. Now, 2 years later, we spend over $12,000 on the car to keep it safe and running and wont resell for anymote than $2,200. Worst experience ever!!! I admit we were a bit naive to trust a car dealer, lesson learned!

Service was excellent! My car was totalled last month and I was in need of a new vehicle. Danny was very nice to deal with and very knowledgeable and had excellent customer service skills. I am very picky when it comes to cars but he was patient and addressed all of my needs. I purchased a used Audi and it is everything that I want and more! I hope to deal with him and AltaWest Auto should I ever need another vehicle. Highly recommend!

I would not go here again, nor recommend them. I unknowingly got stuck with junk and a very fake mechanical inspection. When I mentioned my issues to the salesman(no names) I was just shunned. I was lied to about vehicle history, and am now stuck with a 3grand mechanical bill, just to pass inspection. to bad they are not a member of BBB even.

Scammed, bought vehicle for a high price, didnt realize until I got home that the headlights didnt work, and that the whole front end body panels were cheaply painted and covered in bondo to hide rust.
