I wouldnt recommend Adair Auto to anyone! They make you wait hours for a simple service and their "coffee and water is free" is non existent; the fridge is empty and you sit in a little daycare area. I spent almost $1000 in repairs that werent even needed, and waited over 3 hours on my last appointment there. After I left, the hood of my car was smoking but they informed me that I shouldnt be driving it anyways. As a single female I felt very unsafe in my own car, and that they lacked the knowledge and skills to fix my vehicle, and they overcharged me for everything. When I drove down 16th ave the next day my car died on the highway. When I lifted the hood, they hadnt replaced the cap back on my coolant, so it sprayed all over the engine and it seized up, causing a lot of damage. I had to pay over $200 for a tow truck after just spending hundreds at Adair Auto, and I had to rent a car for a week before getting a new one. Due to the damage to my engine, my car was a write off. When I called them, they informed me that this was normal and occurs often. I asked what the point of the cap on the coolant was in that case, and they had no answer. I have several mechanic friends back in Ontario where Im from, and they said that Id gotten robbed, and this practice was very sketchy and immoral. I wished to be compensated by Adair Auto, and they said they would get back to me immediately. Ive never heard from them again. Every time I called or emailed, no one responded. I work for a large, reputable, well known company; and I tell everyone to stay away from these mechanics.

I took my car here with a burning oil smell and Adair diagnosed the car with several issues including needing a new timing belt due to an oil leak, new gasket covers, and some issues with the turbo line. The estimate was high (over $3000) but seemed legit based on previous issues. Ive had some problems with the dealership being good but expensive and slow so I okayed this work. It was done really fast and when I picked up my car, everything seemed okay. The day after picking it up, I had some smoke coming from my engine but it was minimal and seemed like engine cleaner burning off. Fast forward to one week later after having the car parked for a week and smoke started billowing from the engine. It was towed back to Adair where they advised that a fan nicked a hose and "we have no idea how that happened". Weird and concerning. They fixed it and did the repair for free but charged me for the part which was frustrating. Why did I pay for their mistake? The car made it home just fine but a few days later.... you guessed it, smoke. Same problem. Im done with Adair, I wont be taking my car back there. I actually think theyre good people but they dont know how to work on Subarus. Dont take your Subaru there. My car is currently uninsured, undriveable, and Im trying to save up some money to fix their second mistake. Who knows what they screwed up. Be careful and avoid this place if you care about your car.

Bunch of scam artists! Took my vehicle in due to over heating and after paying for diagnostics they told me it required head gaskets. I gave them authorization to do the repair after given a quote of almost $2000 that included getting the water pump and timing chain changed at the same time as they recommended. I picked my vehicle up after being in the shop for almost a week and everything was fine..... For about 6 weeks, took my vehicle on a long trip and it started to over heat identical to my original problem so we happened to be close to a TOYOTA dealership so I left it with them to figure out what was wrong. Imagine my surprise when they called me to tell me that not only had my head gaskets never been changed, but none of the other work (water pump, timing chain, etc.) had not beed touched and they were willing to document this so that I could to back to Adair Auto. According to the dealership it looked like the only thing that had been touched was thermostat - that would have caused my original over heating problem. So to summarize I paid between diagnosis, "the repair" over $2,000 for them to change a thermostat ($8 part). Adair refused to correct the problem and told me to sue them - which I will do. The owner, Seamus Leghorn, is a total scam artist. You cant trust anything that comes out of his mouth.

I have a Nissan 2006 Xterra that Ive had Adair do repairs & maintenance on. They worked on heating system, brake pad replacement, and some work with rainwater getting into the cab. I personally found Seumas & Bryce to be forward with information, fair, and professional. Mark was a Technician(Mechanic) that had been doing work on my vehicle. I always got the sense they were willing to work with me. When they quoted me part-prices they were proper/fair; like if you went out and bought it yourself. They always explained to me why a job will take 60 minutes, 90 minutes, etc. I was a pokey customer who always wanted to know every little thing. I always felt comfortable with the work that was done, and anytime I wasnt, they took the vehicle back for follow ups. No one is perfect, and sometimes there will be mistakes.... But I think if you are clear & direct when outlining your vehicle-problem, follow up with them after the repair-work is done(open hood, ask where work done, take picture etc), and come back promptly to describe any problems you see after a repair, you wont have an issue. In the end I would call this repair shop honest, consistent, fair-priced.

I loved my recent experience getting my car repaired at Adair Auto Repair. I drive a Mini and live in the south end of Calgary. For years I was taking it all the way up north to Mini Crowfoot ( about a 40 minute drive ) I was getting tired of this process so I started looking around for a shop that worked on Minis in the south. I decided to give Adair Auto Repair a try as their website said that they worked on Minis. First I just tried them out for an oil change service. When I showed up to the shop in the morning there were 3 other Minis in the parking lot, I was then convinced that they were no stranger to a Mini. I was very very happy with their service and they explained things thoroughly to me. They told me I had an oil leak and the owner Seumas took me in the back to show me the problem. This gave me complete confidence that they werent trying to sell me something I didnt need. He gave a price to repair it and I booked an appointment for the following week to have it repaired. They have earned my business for sure. I will continue to take my car to Adair Auto Repair for whatever I need and I will refer them to all my family and friends.

Recommended to go to Adair from my step daughter after going to Sunridge Nissan for a oil change and Sunridge telling me new Transfer Casing for a price around $3400 I had a new transfer casing 3 years ago and couldnt believe there was a major problem and big expense. Wanted Adair to be my second opinion to see if in fact problems leaking and need new Transfer Casing. Went in last week and they took me in right away and a few minutes came saying there is lots of oil around but could not pin point where it was coming from. They cleaned all the oil off underneath my Murano and said to come back in a few days so they could see if or where leaking. Returned 5 days later and again took my car in to view right away. They come back and said there is no leak and no need to replace Transfer Casing. They want to make sure so they said to come back one more time in about 3 weeks to ensure no leaks.. They saved me $3400 if I would have just let Sunridge Nissan repairs plus Adair said NO CHARGE. Guess where I am going for service to the future. Thanks again Adair.
