One of the fairest shops I have dealt with over the last decade; Matt @ Stony Plain Auto Repair is awesome to deal with. I have had enough headaches dealing with service departments for my various vehicles over the years, but I dont get them by taking my vehicles here. You are kept up to date, prices are more than fair, and Matt is a straight shooter. That used to be my biggest qualm with dealership service departments. After your warranty is over, there was nothing but BS spewed by these inept knuckleheads. With Matt and Stony Plain Auto Repair, automotive issues are not spun to lace their pockets. For instance, I have a domestic sedan, and I thought my only local option was the dealership I purchased it from. I will just say this dealership went through a renovation recently and is adjacent to the train tracks. They improperly installed a part, triple charged the diagnosis, charged to repair their admitted error, and then said there was no error and that the issue was "un-fixable". This led up to over a grand in work for a simple issue. I take my car to Stony Plain Auto, and Matt informs me that bolts were installed in the wrong direction. Diagnosis and supplies included, Stony Plain Auto fixed the problem for less than two hundred dollars. Matt always operates that way, and I know whatever warranty work I have that he can do, it is all his. If you enjoy paying a 400% increase for your work, I suggest dealership service departments. If you want to save some money and some headaches, come to Stony Plain Auto Repair.

We do apologize for any misunderstanding that occurred on your visit Ashton Archer. We were not allowed the time for diagnosis or solve any problems that arose as we were told by the customer to replace the convertible roof switch that was diagnosed by your friend. The roof not working was not an act of our installation of the switch but of a further problem in the motor like we had discussed with Rob. Unfortunately this all unfolded at 5 and we had offered to bring the vehicle into the shop for proper diagnosis the following day but was informed this vehicle was not being left even though we did advise on safety numerous times. We offered several solutions to the problem but the only one that was wanted was free diagnosis and replacement of the motor that you claimed was burnt out because of the switch we installed that was more than likely the problem prior. We pride ourselves on the work we do and giving the best customer service we can provide to the community. We are still open to help diagnose the issue that pertains to the vehicle, please feel free to call us and we can arrange to rectify your problem.

I took a friends car to Matt for some work on a convertible hard top, when we left the vehicle at his shop the convertible top was latched securely, after the work done to the vehicle was unsuccessful we decided to take the vehicle elsewhere when we discovered that the top had not been attached securely and the idiot light was flashing on the dash clearly displaying that the vehicle was unsafe to drive and the trunk couldnt be opened in this condition, Matt and his staff clearly knew of these issues and were perfectly comfortable releasing an unsafe vehicle, when I approached Matt with these issues he said it wasnt his problem and became very confrontational and unprofessional, we are still trying to deal with the vehicles problems that Matt and his staff have left us.

Matt is straightforward and to the point with his business. Prices are good especially if you compare them to what a dealership might charge you. Work gets done quick, and if there are delays you are made known right away. Matt seems proud and confident in the work him and his crew do which is extremely encouraging for a customer. Best shop I have been to.

This is the mechanic that gives all mechanics a bad name. There are not enough bad things to say about this guy. In short, his replacement of part caused enough damage to cause the engine to be useless - about $5,000 in damages for a 200 dollar part that they installed improperly - twice. BUYER BEWARE. Stay away from Stony Plain Auto!

Matt and staff are super efficient and go out of their way. I have had my mustang in their shop twice and both times I received my vehicle back on or before the day Matt said it would be ready. Very reasonable cost. I have a Journey still under warranty and it will never go back to dealership for service.

I had an initial issue with the service (likely due to a miscommunication) but Matt contacted me and worked with me to get my concerns resolved very quickly (the only delay was due to me). He is very pleasant to deal with and made me feel that customer satisfaction was in fact a high priority.
