I went to MacDonald Nissan for the first time today because the Service Engine Light came on in my 2006 Frontier (I had previously taken it to Brasso Nissan in Calgary for service). The person I spoke to on the phone was very pleasant and was able to fit me in a little over an hour after I called, but that was about all that was good about the experience. When I arrived, it took several minutes before anyone came out to open the service door. A woman eventually opened it for me and when I got out of the vehicle, she just stared at me and waited for me to explain my presence instead of asking for the information she needed. She was curt and rude every time she spoke to me, whether it was to check in my vehicle or to get my information. The wait wasnt too long, about half an hour, and when it was done the same woman came to get me. She handed me a piece of paper with a $1700 quote for the repair and barely explained it to me. I signed the paperwork, paid for the assessment, and walked out to my vehicle, which was parked without the parking brake on (its a standard shift pickup truck - if it had rolled due to being parked improperly, it would have caused a lot of damage). When I looked over the receipt I was given for the assessment, I noticed a very important detail that the woman had conveniently forgotten to explain to me - it was likely that the code that turned on the engine light was just due to the truck sitting for an extended period of time and the $1700 repair isnt even needed unless the light comes back on. I dont know if it was just the woman I was dealing with, but I was astonished at the dreadful service and will do everything in my power to avoid returning to MacDonald Nissan. My previous experiences at Brasso in Calgary have been the complete opposite of this - everything has been well explained and the service staff has always been friendly. This is not what I expect from a Nissan dealer.

I cant speak for the dealership end, but I am not particularity satisfied with the service end. Long story short, my vehicle ended up in the shop 3 times, all for the same issue. Numerous other problems as well that I will not get into. After confronting Nissan about these issues I was repeatedly told the manager was not around and that he would contact me back later on. Few weeks later I received a call explaining rather bluntly that they would not take responsibility for any of the issues my vehicle had after having it serviced at their shop. Little was explained at each service visit about what was done and why the parts were continually faulty. I believe if better record was kept as to what exactly was done and put into the car, then less issues would have come about. Less than a week after having my less than pleasant conversation with the service manager I received a letter in the mail, an email, as well as a phone invite to a "VIP" car sales event being held. Not sure if this was intentionally done, however it felt like a slap in the face after my poor experience there. I will personally not be shopping for a new vehicle at McDonald Nissan, based on my poor experience with their service department.

Dont let the negative reviews sway you too much. Over the years, as our needs change, we have purchased three vehicles from McDonald Nissan (some new, some used...nothing fancy). We have always worked with the same sales person, hes fantastic. Friendly, accommodating , personable and genuine. Never have we ever felt pushed, pressured and never have we been ignored or dismissed. Very positive experiences. The dealership is always clean and no terrible loud music. We have had our vehicles services there as well, also a positive experience. Not to mention the product quality is also fantastic, youd have to drive one to know what I mean. They seem to be aware of their image and strive for excellence. If and when we ever need to purchase another vehicle, we will be coming here first. As we have before.

Worst service department ever. Make you wait for hours when you have an appointment, charge you hundreds of dollars to diagnose when you already told them EXACTLY what the problem was and what needed fixed. Charge you for additional service when you say you dont want it done. Tell you things are under warranty, then charge you when you pick up the car because it wasnt totally under warranty. Horrible service. Dishonest.

Went to several mechanics to get a quote on a repair for my Nissan. You know dealers seem to be always much more expensive. To my surprise, the price was lower than the smaller garages. The service department quoted me a price and after the repair was completed,the final price was almost 10% lower. Great service and very well priced. Ill be back.Thank you. Rick

Visited for basic service and a warranty issue. Everything was covered no problem and they offered to clean my car before I got it back. One of the sales consultants got my kids a couple gummy snacks and overall the atmosphere was very relaxed. The pricing was competitive and the work was done quickly. Overall a great visit. Ill be back again in the future.

This is my 4 the vehicle from them. The Murano has an excellent history and compared to other like products wins hands down. Perhaps the best part of McDonalds is there friendly and genuine service to the public. They understand that our vehicles are necessary and when not working we would like the "fix" yesterday! Well done.
