If you find yourself at a crossroads, particularly one that involves small children and their plethora of goods, you might be tempted to buy a new vehicle. That F150 not cutting it anymore? Tired of reinacting a veritable clean-and-jerk everytime you have to lift them into their carseats because the vehicle is so high? Tired of cramming the dog, the bags, the groceries, the child into the backseat because it’s raining and the none of that stuff can go into the wet truck box, even the dog, who is too frou-frou to just jump up there for Gods sakes, and you are not lifting him one more time over the tailgate because your back cant handle it, you just had a baby for crying out loud. Oh yes, you are; and so the vehicle hunt begins. And you try the SUVs. You try the CUVs. You even try an Escalade because you momentarily forget that a budget exists in your house. Basically, you are trying your darndest not to look where countless others have… the minivan. Still, nothing you tried is cutting it. I mean, they’re all stylish. They come with leather everything. Some of them massage your butt. However, you just don’t LOVE any of them; they’re high off the ground, the storage is minimal, and something is telling you that your pride might not be worth the extra cash. You break down. There may be tears. Or beers. Or both, and maybe also an impassioned sing along to a song that makes you feel twenty years old again. But the truth is, you’re not twenty and single; you’ve got little people, and dogs, and groceries, and grandmas to pack around. And so, you find yourself at the Lethbridge Toyota dealership, and Tim Schipper is showing you a Sienna. And you find yourself saying out loud “This is actually… really nice!” You like how it drives, and the features rival any fancy SUV (exceed them in many instances) and it fits everyone so nicely. And Tim makes it so easy, taking the time to show you all it’s detailing, talking about his love for his own Sienna at home. You drive away, and you genuinely, actually LOVE the Toyota Sienna. Yes, you love your minivan. You never thought that could happen. But then again, you were never going to have kids, right? At least, that’s the way it went for me.

I bought a new Toyota Highlander at this dealership over the internet for $40,000. I told them to have it ready to go, as I was driving the vehicle back to Nova Scotia as soon as I was able to finish my job and get to Lethbridge. I had a friend who lived in Lethbridge, and asked him to pick it up from the dealer and store it for me, as this was the last Highlander that they had on their lot. Therefore, it was being yest driven by everyone wanting to try a Highlander. It ended up with 450 test drive Kms on it, which they deducted $750 from the price. The dealership was friendly before and during the sale, but after the sale things changed. You really have to critique a bill of sale, as I did. There are a lot of miscellaneous charges on there including a PDI charge of $250 or so. This fee is for the shop to check over the vehicle before delivery. Its brand new! What do they have to check? Anyway, i picked up the vehicle from my friend and headed East. The first 100 kms, the tire pressure low light came on. Really? $250 PDI and my tire pressure is low. The tires were filled with nitrogen. Try finding that on the highway. Turned on Sirius satellite radio for the drive, only to find out that the dealer didnt pay the fee required for my free 6 month trial. The vinyl paint protection ($1000) peeled off in the first month. They did help withe the cost of replacement tho. You can get better paint protection at a private shop for half of the price. I found a cut in the fabric down low on the back of the passenger seat. They doubted me on that and did not help. I sent clear pictures to them as well. THE best thing about my experience with this dealership? Someone put info tabs on the owners manual so I can find sections quickly. There are lots of choices for Toyota dealers in Alberta. I would not recommend this one to anyone. Do yourself a favour and go to Calgary to buy your Toyota, and critique the bill of sale.

I have three Toyotas. Sienna, Tundra and Prius V. The first instance was with the Sienna. The service writer told me I needed to get an oil change every 5000 km. The manual says 8000 km. He said I shouldnt go by the manual. I disagreed. It seemed they were trying to get me to do three oil changes when I only needed two. The next thing that happened was I got a letter from Lethbridge Toyota saying that the Sienna needed a timing belt changed at 120,000 km. The manual says 144,000 km. Once again I disagreed and waited until 144,000 km. The last straw was when I took my Prius in for a regular service. The manual says it was due for a cabin air filter and oil change. The service writer said I also needed a 4 wheel alignment and a throttle body service. Neither of these services are recommended in the manual and I went as far as to check with another Toyota dealer who said the do not do the throttle body service and the alignment is only done if the car needs it. i.e. not tracking straight or uneven wear on the tires. I only had the oil change and cabin air filter change done. I really felt like Lethbridge Toyota was trying to up-sell me on some service I really didnt need. So I filled out the customer survey and told them so. I expected some sort of reply to my poor rating of the service but there was no contact from the dealership. I have since gone elsewhere for my service.

I am not usually the kind of person who takes the time to write a review about the service I received but when its as amazing as the service at Lethbridge Toyota its impossible not to. For the last 5 years I have worked in the customer service industry and as such I know good service when I see it. I was not looking for a new car but when my 1999 Chevrolet Malibu finally bit the weeds I was left in quite the bind. I did some quick car lot shopping and found an adorable 2009 Toyota Yaris that I fell in love with. I went in the next day and met my salesman Kevin and we went for a test drive. Within 5 hours of test driving my car I was walking out the door with the keys in my hand and a smile on my face. Kevin and Rahim were fantastic and went out of their way to accomodate my needs. Even when I came back the next day and was confused about my paperwork they both took time out of their day to sit down and explain it to me. Even though this was a used car it was a new car for me and there was not one time where I was treated otherwise; I felt like my experience would have been the same if I was buying a $50,000 car or a $5000 car. I cant express how lucky I feel to have chosen Lethbridge Toyota, I cant imagine having had a better car buying experience. Thank You!
