DO NOT EVER BUY A USED VEHICLE HERE!!! ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE; I purchased a 2013 mini-cooper from Southgate Volkswagen from Justin King on October 9, the start of the purchase was very easy and felt very painless. We went back and forth with the additional items i wanted on my new car (Winter Studded tires, and a remote car starter) we negotiated and finally met a price I was happy with. (I thought "Wow this is tooo easy") I went and signed the bill of sale and left a deposit for the car I went met with Freddy a finance guy arranged that i would be coming to pick the car up on the following Tuesday October 13 around 3-4pm(After Thanksgiving I had to wait on my bank to transfer the funds) When Tuesday rolled around, I left work early to go to the bank for the cheque. I had a voicemail from Aaron (? could be a different name) at 3pm calling about the remote starter. I called him right before i was going into the bank for my appointment to get the money. He advised me that the car starter was going to cost more than they had put on the bill of sale and that i could either pay the difference or i could get the remote starter removed and they would take 1,000 off. I told him that I dont want the car if that was the case, he told me he would look into it more and let me know. I was then sitting in front of my bank teller about to get the cheque and he called back to tell me that there had been a communication error and they gave me the wrong price, once again i told him i was about to get the cheque to drop off and how could they promise a remote starter and then go back on their word... He said he would call me back AGAIN after he looked into it more. He then called back and said he would offer the price that we had signed on and they would install the car starter. I had to BOOK another bank appointment and miss ANOTHER day of work to get this organized. They advised me that it would take longer for the car started to get installed and they would let me know when it was going to get done. On Thursday (October 15th) i dropped the money off (silly me) i spoke with Tammy who is ABSOLUTELY awesome. She answered all my unknown questions, told me that she was away on Friday and that someone would call me on Friday to let me know when it was done. She said it would most likely be Freddy. Friday rolls around and i hadnt heard anything from southgate at 10am i called and left a voicemail on Freddys phone, then two hours go by i called again it went to voicemail again, I then emailed, and emailed the group email that they had sent me to confirm about the car starter. I finally get an email back on Saturday telling me that there was an issue and "I think it is in the shop getting installed" This gones on for all of saturday until around 6pm i finally get a call saying that it is complete and i can pick the car up on MONDAY because they do not have detailers in till then. On monday I go to pick my car up, I meet with Justin and they takes me back to Tammys office. As i am about to enter Tammys office; Justin says to me "oh btw we couldnt get your tires studded but they are better than what you were going to get" at which point i say "Are you F***King kidding me? This all sale of this car has been a god dam nightmare." I spoke with Tammy told her what had happened and she goes and solves my issues they eventually get the tires i asked for studded and all is well... OR So I thought. 3 days later.... I get a light turn on that says "SERVICE OVER DUE" it is the oil. I check the dipstick and the oil is Black as hell. I am now in the process of finding out what the hell is going on, if the other fluids have even been checked. I am not stuck with a large bill getting a dealership to tell me what all needs to fixed because Southgate Volkswagen didnt do a MAINTENANCE CHECK LIKE THEY SAID THEY DID.

So glad I sold my Touareg. I will never by one again. Mainly due to this dealership. They put my black car through there automatic car wash that has spinning brushes and damaged my car allover... wheels scratched.. both sides and chrome moldings scratched. I know this because I washed it and took pictures of it before dropping it off to ensure that if any damages done I would not have to argue I could just say look at the pictures.. also because my wheels were going into storage which I had never done before and was worried about them being damaged. Months later of fighting with the dealership. Marvin the GM told me to go away... unless I had a high Def video then whatever I say and my pictures mean nothing.... he told the salesman to call me to trade my vehicle in at a 30 percent loss... I called the owner of dealership to tell him that Marvin was being ridiculous, insulting and hostile towards me.... he also did not care. Volkswagen Canada could not help because it was not a defect in the vehicle.... So if you go here tell them not to wash your vehicle. It says right on the machine that they are not responsible for anything.... I would never take my black car through a auto brush car wash anyway.... say no to the car wash! I told them not to but they did it anyway due to the vw survey... so just say under no circumstances are you to put my vehicle through that machine... it says not to in the vw manual. Also get ready for overcharges. I was told 100 for an alignment.... actual price 280 They charged me 180 to fill the DEF tank... norden did that for free... just had to pay for Def. I was charged 279 for them to zip tie a plastic shield on my car...... norden replaced the shield after the zip ties broke for 300.... I was charged 12 for washer fluid.... I filled it before I came in.... I was told I needed brakes at the cost of 2400.... drove another 40 000km before needing them to be replaced. They lost the caps for my wheels and tried to charge me 1200 dollars for them... I later found them next to my spare tire... I didnt put them there. I went to the service department 4 times.... 3 times was terrible and fighting about overcharges. Last time was when they damaged my vehicle. I kept going back because they are 5 min from my house... I kept telling myself that maybe it was just that one time..... and Norden is 50minute drive. Norden will give you a free loaner to make the drive... but be prepared to have to drive all that way. If your thinking of buying go elsewhere or maybe go with a different manufacturer. I have owned 13 cars brand new and would not recommend vw. So if you go here be prepared.... check your bill... whatever they tell you the price will be more when you pickup.... say no to the wash... the management will not help you. I warned you... go at your own risk.

I should have known from the start not to buy a car here. I walked into the dealership and began looking at cars in the showroom with my two brothers and no one had approached us at all. We found an employee and had to ask for assistance.. (since when??) Dan, the Internet Manager, was who we approached, so he was who we dealt with for the duration of the sale. He was a little crude, but overall the experience with him was good. The problems arose with the finance department. Tammy, the Finance Manager, doesnt have a clue what she is doing, and spoke with us like we couldnt add 40,000 km to 80,000 km in the extended warranty offer. And that was just the first "hiccup" as they described it. Their computer program wasnt working to check my credit and approve me for the loan, so I had to leave with the deal written on paper and wait for her call. I got a call from useless Tammy the next day advising me that I was approved at the interest rate in which we discussed the day prior, so I made an appointment to pick up my car the next day. The following day, I spoke with Tammy again over the phone and she sent me the info needed to insure the car. I did, and a few hours later proceeded to my appointment. Upon arriving, I was greeted by useless Tammy and even more useless Freddy. They let me know that there was a hiccup with the bank. The bank wanted me to put $2000 less down than I wanted for the interest rate I was promised the day prior by useless Tammy. If I wanted to put my originally agreed upon amount down, my interest rate would climb by .50% She failed to let me know any of this when we spoke earlier in the day and still let me go ahead and insure the car, without advising me of this "hiccup". Needless to say, I was not impressed. Now, I am stuck with a loan 12 month longer than we agreed on, with higher monthly payments than agreed on. I dont believe their bank story one bit, and if it is in fact true, useless Tammy should have known these details prior to having me do the work and carry around an extra $2000 cash for 24 hours for no reason. If you buy here, be on guard for these finance fools and be prepared to be treated like an idiot, and spoken to like you cant add 8 and 4. But Dan was cool.
